Chapter Twenty, Diagon Alley

Chapter Twenty, Diagon Alley

Two weeks after Izzy's twelfth birthday and a few days after Ginny's eleventh birthday, Molly and Arthur had decided to take everyone to get their Hogwarts supplies as the letters should be arriving today; hopefully. Since Izzy's birthday she had been corresponding a lot with Sirius and even with Remus, who apologised for not being there on her birthday and that he couldn't wait to meet her once again. She had already broken in her new Art supplies by creating a drawing of Ginny, herself and Luna with their arms around each other and smiling happily as a present for Ginny's birthday. Ginny had loved it and held tightly to Izzy for a few minutes. Shaking herself out of her thoughts Izzy hurried up in the shower before wrapping her hair in a towel and drying herself off.

She quickly put on some deodorant, brushed her teeth, slipped on some underwear, a white cold-shoulder top with sunflowers on it, black pinstripe trousers and nude sandals. Drying her hair off quickly as she knew someone else would be up soon and didn't want to hog the bathroom; she quickly brushed it getting all the knots and tangles out before twisting the sides back and pinning them together at the back of her head, slipping on her charm bracelet and Heiress rings and she was done.
"Hi Fred." Izzy blushed, nearly bumping into him as she left the bathroom.
"Morning Izzy. You look very beautiful today." Fred complimented, causing Izzy to blush a deep red and her hair to turn pink.
"T-thank you." Izzy stuttered, mentally slapping herself. "You look really nice too." She added more calmly, reaching up on her tiptoes and kissing his cheek.

Which only caused both Fred and Izzy to blush as George teased them all the way down the stairs.
"What's going on?" Charlie asked curiously, noticing the blushes both Fred and Izzy were sporting.
"Izzy forgot all about me!" George exclaimed dramatically, throwing himself down into his chair and 'sobbing' into his arms. "She was so wrapped up in Freddie that she forgot all about me!"
"I did not!" Izzy protested.
"Well you can't blame her, Georgie. She does have the more handsome twin as her soulmate." Fred teased, sitting down next to his twin and opposite Izzy.
"You take that back!" George suddenly exclaimed, causing Izzy to jump and flinch a little. "Sorry Izzy." He apologised, before turning back to his twin. "Take it back, Gred!"

"Never Forge!" Fred declared, starting a round of play fighting.
"All right, enough." Molly scolded half-heartedly, a smile on her face as she and Bill loaded the table full of food as Ron came down fully dressed and sat down next to Izzy opposite George, followed by Ginny and Percy who were both still in their pyjamas and with bed heads. "No dear. You just sit and take your potions." Molly said gently, when Izzy went to stand to help. Sighing quietly as she wanted to help, Izzy returned to her seat just as Arthur Weasley returned home from work.
"Morning Weasleys." Arthur shouted, as he entered. After the first day of this he'd told Izzy he included her in the Weasley statement as she was now his and Molly's second daughter which had made Izzy beam happily with tears in her eyes.

"Morning Arthur."
"Morning Dad."
"Morning Mr Weasley."
Everyone chorused. Molly smiled happily as Arthur kissed her cheek in greeting before he took his seat at the head of the table.
"What a night! Nine raids. Nine!" Arthur sighed, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Are wizards still selling those things to Muggles, Dad?" Bill asked.
"Unfortunately yes." Arthur sighed, cutting up his breakfast. "This time it was a cursed rubber duck that would try to bite children. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting!" Arthur shook his head.
"Mr Weasley... I might be wrong but I think... I think Dudley would play with a rubber duck in the bath when we were little. He used to brag he had one when..." Izzy trailed off, looking down at her plate while everyone tried to control their anger.

"Thank you Izzy." Arthur said gratefully, squeezing her hand gently just as a screech sounded, causing all of them to look towards the window where they saw Hestia flying towards The Burrow's open kitchen window with a large letter in her beak.
"Fetch it, will you, Bill, please?" Molly asked her eldest son as he sat closest to the perch.
"Thank you Hestia." Bill said, stroking the owl and giving her an owl treat as he removed the large letter which held six Hogwarts letters within. "It's the Hogwarts letters." He informed them, handing out all of the letters to his siblings.
"Thank you." Everyone said, accepting the letter from Bill.
"Just in time to." Molly sighed happily, drinking a sip of her tea as she looked over Ginny's letter who sat opposite her.

"Looks like we'll be going to Diagon Alley once we've all finished breakfast and Percy and Ginny have  gotten dressed." Molly said, handing Ginny back her list, while flickering her wand at the sink; starting the washing up.
"Mum, why don't Bill and I come with you and Dad and we can all Apparate there. It's safer than using the Floo, especially as Izzy hasn't used it on her own before." Charlie suggested.
"Thank you Charlie." Arthur said gratefully. "I'll just grab a quick shower and change, Molly, while Percy and Ginny get dressed." Arthur said, standing from his seat with a kiss to her cheek.
"Okay dear. Eat up now, everyone." Molly said, finishing her own breakfast while Izzy fed and watered Hedwig, Hermes, Hestia and Errol.

***

After stopping at Gringotts in Diagon Alley, they all split off into four groups but promised they'd all meet up in Flourish and Blotts in an hour to get all of their school books at once. Bill went off with Fred, George and Lee to keep the three of them out of trouble; Percy and Charlie went off together; Molly went with Luna and Ginny; and finally Arthur and Xeno went with Izzy and Ron to Ollivanders to get Ron a new wand and to get some new robes and clothes. As they were leaving Madam Malkin's, Xeno and Arthur reappeared with some ice cream for the four of them with Hermione, her parents and Hagrid just behind them.
"Thank you Mr Weasley, Mr Lovegood." Izzy said gratefully.
"Thanks Dad, thanks Mr Lovegood." Ron said gratefully.

"It's no problem and you two know to call me Xeno." Xeno stated, smiling at them.
"Hi Hermione. Hi Hagrid." Izzy and Ron said happily, hugging their friends tightly.
"Hi Ron. Oh, Izzy! Are you alright?" Hermione asked, concerned, looking over her friend worriedly.
"I'm okay." Izzy said, smiling softly at her.
"What's that you got there, Hagrid?" Ron asked, spotting a large green can in Hagrid's hands after Hermione had introduced Izzy and Ron to her parents Dr and Dr Granger.
"Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent." Hagrid replied, lifting up the large can. "The slugs are ruining all the school cabbages."
"What about broken egg shells?" Izzy suggested.
"Broken egg shells?" Hagrid repeated, confused, as they made their way back down Diagon Alley.

"Broken egg shells work better than Slug Repellent if you sprinkle some around the flowers and the vegetables. It's also safer for animals too." Izzy explained.
"I'll give that a go. Thanks Izzy, and if the egg shells don't work then I'll use this as a last resort." Hagrid said happily, gently pulling Izzy in for another hug. "I'll see you all back at Hogwarts." Hagrid said, bidding the group goodbye as they'd arrived outside of Flourish and Blotts where the rest of the Weasleys, Augusta and Neville were waiting for them.
"Bye Hagrid." The rather large group chorused.
"Bye." Hagrid chuckled, a large smile on his face.

"Come on, let's get those books." Augusta and Molly said, leading the way into the shop. To make it quicker as it was exceedingly busy inside the shop, considering the lists had come out rather late this year, the group of seven adults took the kids lists and went around the shop collecting all the books the children needed. Hermione's parents following Arthur and Molly so they didn't get lost; while Percy, Fred, George, Ron, Neville, Hermione, Izzy, Luna and Ginny waited by the doors talking amongst themselves and giggling and laughing  at the stories Fred and George were telling them of what they'd brought with Bill and Lee. When suddenly a drawling voice came from behind them.
"Well, if it isn't famous, Isadora Potter!" Draco Malfoy snapped, swaggering over to them as if he owned the place.

"Leave her alone!" Ginny and Luna growled, they were protective of Izzy as she was smaller than them and they were close like sisters.
"Oh, look, Potter! You got yourself some fans! How does your Weasel feel about that!?" Draco mocked, looking at who he thought was Fred but was actually George as he was wearing Fred's jumper. A cane suddenly landed on Draco's shoulder as he was pushed away from the group of friends. The man was revealed to possibly be Draco's father as he had the same white blonde hair only longer, cold grey eyes and dressed all in black and dark reds.
"Now, now, Draco, play nicely." The man scolded mockingly.
"Miss. Potter." The man stated, looking rather creepily at Izzy but she held her ground. She wouldn't give him or his son the satisfaction. "Lucius Malfoy, we meet at last." Lucius introduced, holding out his hand which Izzy hesitantly took.

"Forgive me." He states, pulling Izzy suddenly closer to him and using his cane to push her hair aside to reveal her now, white scar. "Your scar is a legend. As of course, is the wizard who gave it to you." He added nonchalantly. That did it. Izzy's hair suddenly turned blood red as she angrily pulled herself free from Lucius's grasp.
"Voldemort killed my parents!" Izzy hissed, her emerald eyes burning with fury. "He was nothing more than a murderer!" She spat.
"You must be very brave to mention his name or very foolish." Lucius commented unperturbed.
"Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself." Hermione, Luna and Izzy said at once.

"And you must be Miss Granger." Lucius said snidely to Hermione while getting a nod from Draco as confirmation. "Yes, Draco has told me all about you. And your parents. Muggles, aren't they?" He asked, looking over to where Dr and Dr Granger were talking enthusiastically to Arthur.
"Let me see. Similar blonde hair to my own, vacant blue eyes... you must be that fool Xenophilius Lovegood's daughter." Lucius scoffed at Luna.
"Daddy isn't a fool!"
"Xeno isn't a fool!" Luna and Izzy said hotly at the same time, but Lucius ignored them.
"Now, you are obviously Neville Longbottom." Lucius said, rolling his eyes at Neville who stood on Izzy's right and Ron on her left. "Ahh, let me see." He mused mockingly, looking over the sea of redheads in front of him.

"Red hair, vacant expressions, worn clothes and... oh, look-" Lucius reached into Ginny's cauldron and plucked out her new Transfiguration book. "A new book for once. You must be the Weasleys." At the moment Arthur approached them wrapping his arms around Izzy and Ron's shoulders while his children, Neville, Luna and Hermione all glared at Lucius.
"Children. It's mad in here, let's go outside." He said to all of the children gathered, Bill and Charlie were staying in the shop to help their mother, Augusta and Dr and Dr Granger along with Xeno.
"Well, well, Weasley senior." Lucius mocked.
"Lucius." Arthur returned coldly.
"Busy time at the Ministry, Arthur, all those extra raids? I do hope they're paying you overtime... I'm gathering, so by the sight of a new book." Lucius said, holding up the book.

"Or is it because you now have Miss Potter living with you?"
"How dare you! We would never use Izzy in such a way unlike some wizards I know!" Arthur said appalled, but hinting towards Lucius in his latter part of his argument. Ignoring the slight against his person, Lucius continued in his soft, mocking tone.
"What's the use in being a disgrace to the name of a wizard... if they don't even pay you well for it?"
"We have a very different idea about what disgraces the name of the wizard, Malfoy." Arthur retorted, glaring fiercely at the man before him.
"Clearly. Associating with Muggles." Lucius said in disgust. "And I thought your family could sink no lower!" He dropped the book back into Ginny's cauldron.

However, Izzy saw another book behind her Transfiguration book, a small black one, and she wasn't sure if it was there before or not.
"I'll see you at work!" Lucius scoffed at Arthur. "Come Draco!" Lucius ordered, spinning on his heel as he swept from the shop.
"See you at school." Draco said in the same tone to Ron, Neville, Izzy and Hermione. The quartet, the remaining Weasleys and Luna just glared at him as he followed after his pompous father.
"Why didn't you just hit him Dad!?" Fred complained, not caring if the Malfoy's could hear him.
"Because it is not the answer, Fred. No matter how much I wish I did hit him." Arthur muttered quietly, but not quietly enough as the children heard and burst out laughing at him causing Arthur's cheeks to turn pink as he tried to fight a smile.
