Chapter Thirty-Six, Awakening and Consequences

"Sirius? Remus?" Minerva McGonagall asked, startled. "What's happened?" Looking over Izzy and Ginny quizzically, and she wasn't the only one within the office she was joined by Madam Pomfrey who in quick succession started running Diagnostic Spells over both Izzy and Ginny first and foremost than moving over to everyone else, Augusta (who jumped up and started to check over her grandson), Molly, Arthur, Bill and Charlie (who checked over their children/siblings once they were free from the Matron and Professor Tonks who looked over her charges.
"Well," Remus began, sinking down into a vacant seat warily as he and Sirius told everyone what both Ginny and Izzy had told them.

"I see." Professor McGonagall muttered, once everything had been explained as she stared out at her students. "Given recent events and the fact despite becoming suspicious of the power of the diary and you losing time, Miss Weasley, I fear I have no choice to suspend you for the remaining week of the school term until September. You will see a Mind Healer at St Mungo's who will determine whether you have not only healed from this terrible ordeal but also that you have learned your lesson. For not only did you endanger the school body, you failed to go to a teacher, you then proceeded to vandalise a teacher's office to get the diary back instead of allowing it to be destroyed, and Miss Potter-Black was also tortured and nearly killed because of this. Now, if Fawkes hadn't arrived when he did we would be having a much different conversation." Professor McGonagall said sternly.

"I know and I'm so sorry." Ginny cried from within her mother's arms.
"We know that Ginny but how many times have I told you all not to trust something where you can't see where it keeps its brain?" Arthur asked, sighing as he pinched his nose. "Think of how your brother felt when he felt what Izzy felt. Luckily when Izzy suspected she gave it to Sirius but you then purposefully destroyed his office to get it back and for this young lady, you will be grounded for the first few weeks of the summer. When we go to Egypt, you will not get to explore the tombs with your brothers but will be attending your appointments even while we are on holiday." Arthur said sternly.
"I won't do it again I swear! And I should've gone to someone, Percy if no one else, I'm so sorry." Ginny sobbed apologetically.
"Be that as it may, I want to hear you're trying hard in your sessions, Miss Weasley, as the outcome of them will determine your place within Hogwarts come September, and we will receive a report after every session." Augusta added sternly.

"We will make sure she does." Molly promised, already thinking of ways she could sink the matter further home to her daughter to make sure she fully understood. Ginny was just lucky no one was pressing charges and that Izzy had survived for conflict with You-Know-Who or not, she still would have been accountable for her actions.
"Good. Now, as for you three." McGonagall added, staring now, over at Izzy, Ron and Neville who stood with their heads bowed.

"You are very fortunate that you are not joining Miss Weasley in suspension, but as you did inform Sirius and Remus, and check how the dairy wrote back you, also cleared Hagrid's name, found out who the murderer of Miss Warren was, and saved Miss Weasley, despite endangering your own lives in the process. That said, I will reward the three of you two hundred points a piece and each of you shall receive a reward for Special Services to the school and Tom Riddle's will be removed and destroyed."

"Thank you Headmistress." Ron muttered gleefully.
"That doesn't mean you're off the hook with your father and I, Ronald Billius Weasley." Molly interjected sternly, hands on her hips as she glared at her youngest son. Now that fear and shock was wearing off, relief and anger was quickly replacing them.
"Neither are you." Augusta and Sirius added to Neville and Izzy.

"Izzy, I will write to your Healer and request more appointments for you as due to what has happened I think it's imperative that you have them." Madam Pomfrey added.
"What do they need, Poppy?" Andromeda asked, concerned for her charges. She may have been a Slytherin during her school days and her appointment as Head of Gryffindor as well as Transfiguration Professor as a means to bridge the gap between the Houses but she did care a great deal for her students; she loved working with children.
"Small dosage of Dreamless Sleep each, and to stay overnight with me for each of them to make sure there are no signs of shock." Madam Pomfrey informed them.

"Then that is what will happen. Augusta, could you send these release papers to Madam Bones please, I think Hagrid has stayed there far too long." Minerva requested.
"Of course Minerva." Augusta agreed, accepting the papers, and kissing her grandchildren on the forehead before she Flooed to Madam Bones's office to hand them directly to her. The moment the emerald flames died down the door to the office suddenly swung open bouncing off of the wall with the force of it revealing Lucius Malfoy and a cowering Dobby standing beside him.

"Has the culprit been caught yet!!" Lucius demanded, strolling up the office. "Out of my way Potter!" He spat, pushing Izzy out of the way with his cane.
"Come." Madam Pomfrey beckoned the Weasleys, Neville and Lee Jordan who eagerly followed after the Matron to get away from the no doubt blazing row that was about to start. Especially Arthur who looked ready to attack the ponce, if Bill and Charlie didn't lead him away, leaving Minerva, Sirius, Remus and Izzy alone in the office with the Malfoy Lord.

"Yes. It was Lord Voldemort preserved in this diary at the age of sixteen who was behind the attacks and as such the diary has been destroyed." Minerva stated, with a proud smile directed at Izzy. It was at that moment when the diary came into Dobby's line of sight that he started nudging Izzy, then nodding over to Lucius before hitting himself over the head. It only took twice for this to happen for Izzy to catch on as she nodded her head, a plan working around in her mind as she thought how she could get Dobby away from the cruel wizard.
"Let's hope that Miss Potter will always be around to save the day!" Lucius muttered with contempt, glaring at Izzy only to come face to face with Sirius as he stepped in front of his daughter.

Unbeknownst to him, giving her a chance to put her plan into action as she slipped off one of her socks and hid it within the diary.
"Mr Malfoy, I have something of yours." Izzy suddenly interrupted McGonagall, who was discreetly threatening the ponce with what would happen if anymore of Voldemort's things ended up in her school.
"Mine? I don't know what you're talking about!" Lucius muttered, looking slightly startled but he still accepted the dairy and thrusted it roughly at Dobby.

"Oh, I think you do." Izzy commented mildly. "You slipped into Ginny's cauldron that day in Diagon Alley."
"Is that so?" Lucius said, sneering at the Potter-Black Heiress. "Why don't you prove it!" He whirled around flicking his cloak behind him as he kicked Dobby down the steps. "Come Dobby we're leaving!"
"Open it!" Izzy whispered hurriedly to Dobby, knowing he wasn't about to pay any attention Dobby opened it and his face lit up with elation when he spotted the sock laying in confides of the diary.

"Dobby?" Lucius demanded, once he'd reached the door only to realise that his servant wasn't with him opening the door.
"Master has given Dobby a sock!" Dobby crowded with elation.
"What? I didn't give you -?" Lucius demanded, only to trail off when he saw Izzy showing her bare leg. "You lost me my servant!!" He roared apoplectic with rage as he drew his wand, causing four wands to quickly be pointed at him.
"You shall not harm Izzy Potter!" Dobby demanded forcefully, glaring at his old master as he stood protectively in front of Izzy and threw him back with a blast of magic as the Malfoy Lord started muttering the first syllable of the Killing Curse.

"Mark my words Potter, you'll soon come to the same sticky end as your parents, they were meddlesome fools too!" Lucius scowled, glaring at Izzy as he heaved himself to his feet with a wince.
"Get out of my school, NOW!!" Minerva demanded angrily, glaring at the man until he left while Andromeda headed to the fireplace to inform Madam Bones on what had just transpired. It was time the Malfoy Lord was taken down a few pegs.
"Izzy Potter freed Dobby. How can Dobby ever repay her?" Dobby asked, exuberantly, hugging Izzy tightly.
"Dobby, would you like to be my House-elf?" Izzy asked instead. "I promise I will treat you with the respect and kindness you deserve."
"Truly Miss?" Dobby asked, happy tears building in his eyes.

"Of course." Izzy agreed, and five minutes later after Sirius had completed the bonding for both his daughter and her new elf, feeling incredibly proud of her, he and Remus were leading her to the Hospital Wing for some much needed rest, while Dobby returned to Potter Manor for the time being; when Izzy shocked them once again.
"Daddy, you know how we have a lot of unused properties, what if we changed some of them into a Magical Orphanage, a public library, and changed one of them into cul-de-sac for witches and wizards so we don't have to live in Muggle villages. I don't want anyone to go through what I did at my aunts and uncle's house." Izzy muttered softly, looking down at her feet.

"Izzy," Sirius said crouching down in front of her with a blinding and proud smile upon his lips. "I think that is a wonderful idea. Before we leave for our trip I'll go and see King Ragnok and have the ball rolling, all family books and items will be stored within the vaults or the main Potter Manor, leaving only copies behind in the library and certainly not our family's secret ones. I am so proud of you, pup."
"We both are." Remus added, kissing the crown of her head. "And Lily and James would be as well Cub. But we'll plan all this later, Sirius you can add it to the letter you were penning for the suing of the Ministry for unlawful possession of Potter Cottage, for now we all need to rest."

***

The following evening the Leaving Feast was being held early in celebration for everyone being woken from their Petrified states including Sir Nicholas and Mrs Norris.
"Izzy, it's Hermione." Pavarti said, nodding to the entrance to the Great Hall. Spinning around so fast that their necks clicked Izzy, Neville and Ron jumped from their seats running up to Hermione while she ran down to them hugging them all tightly as everyone watched gleefully. However, unbeknownst to everyone else, Hedwig had dropped a letter in front of Draco Malfoy earlier that day, thanking him for his help with solving it, which left him wondering how she knew before he realised he really shouldn't be surprised: it was Izzy after all.

"I've missed you guys." Hermione whispered.
"We've missed you too." Izzy, Neville and Ron said together, just as a ringing sound came from the Head Table as Professor Longbottom called for order signalling everyone to their seats.
"Before we begin the feast, I would like for us all to give a round of applause to Madam Pomfrey and Professor Sprout who's Mandrake Draught has successfully been administered to all who had been petrified." Professor McGonagall informed them, starting off the applause which snowballed into the whole hall applauding; the flushed but pleased faces of the Herbology Professor and Madam Pomfrey beaming down at them. Once the second round of applause and cheers had died down, after the school was informed there would be no exams this year, the Great Hall doors opened revealing Hagrid.

"Sorry I'm late. Finally got a full pardon and apology from the Ministry." Hagrid apologised, as he strode up the hall with a roll of his eyes at the incompetent fools, as he came to a stop behind Izzy, Neville, Ron and Hermione.
"I'd just like to say that if it hadn't been for you, Izzy, Neville and Ron, and Hermione, I would still be you-know-where... so I'd just like to say thanks." Hagrid muttered tearfully.
"It's not Hogwarts without you, Hagrid." Izzy muttered, tearfully as she stood and hugged him tightly. That did it; as a second later tears rapidly fell down Hagrid's cheeks as he hugged Izzy tightly as the whole school cheered and celebrated that he was back where he belonged.
