Catherine's POV

I was sick today and I can't use a spell because when a sorceress is sick they can't use there powers, usually when I'm sick it's only an over night sickness, but this has been going on for three days, it started on Friday when I was going home and now it's Monday and I had to miss school.

I just hate it when I get sick especially since I can't use my powers, this morning I couldn't block the bathroom door so Jace got there first, and when I'm sick he always takes advantage of it, right now he's making weird faces at me, I went into my room and locked the door so I don't have to see the faces, I love my brother but he is a complete pain in the butt.

I looked in the mirror and I took off my jacket that I was wearing, I've been getting sharp pains on the upper part of my back so I wanted to see what was wrong, but what I saw was... AWESOME, I finally got my sorceress wings, they were white with beautiful glistening crystals, how I get them is when a sorceress or sorcerer turns twelve they begin to grow wings, it's like going through puberty but it's for those with magical abilities. This was so AWESOME, I quickly ran to tell mom the news " mom look I got my sorceress wings, I guess that explains why I'm sick." I said. "That's wonderful Catherine, let's see if you can fly." Mom said. We went to the back yard were no one could see us and I tried to fly, was hard at first but I got the hang of it, I'm so happy I got my wings.
