Ok guys, the main thing in this book IS going to be about Sophie. So firstly, I am going to show you some snapshots from the KOTLC wiki page about Sophie's name, and tell you my thoughts on them! If you have any thoughts, please comment them down below!

Firstly, I don't think that Sophie should have a name based on the meaning of "wisdom". I never really see her show any sort of wisdom through out the books. Yes, she has her moments, which is the one of the only reasons I don't ABSOLUTELY despise her with my entire soul, but everyone has their moments in this series, as they should. Two, she never really makes any of her plans foolproof. I know it's not easy, but you could at least think about your plans before things actually happen and think, "Ok, is this actually gonna work?" If we have somebody with wisdom, than that should be Annabeth. I mean, she is the literal "Wise Girl." Ok, off topic, but I don't get how people are comparing Annabeth to Sophie. I mean, if Sophie was anybody main in the entirety of Rick Riordan's world, it would be..... um.... I don't know. 

Ok, comment here who you think Sophie is most similar too in the world of Rick Riordan! This includes Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase, Trials of Apollo, The Kane Chronicles.....am I missing any? Well, you know what I mean. Who do you think Sophie's the most similar too? 

Please tell me that I am not the only one who thinks that choosing the name Sophie because it means wise is not the right idea. 

But some may argue, well she is really smart in school isn't she? Ok, let me clarify this: Smart does NOT mean wise. Many smart people are definitely not wise. Just because you are acing school doesn't mean that you are wise at all. Get that idea out of your head! Wisdom is something completely different from raw intelligence. Two: Some of the reason why she is so intelligent is because she is an elf! Elves are more intelligent and good-looking than humans, so it's not even completely because she studies hard that she is intelligent! 

Ummm, excuse me? Ok, so Shannon wanted to name her Alexandra, lets ponder that for a moment Alexandra Foster... it doesn't sound bad! And Alexandra means "defender of mankind." Ok, I think I could see this as a more reasonable name then Sophie. If you think about, she does defend mankind (sort of) and so that name would make more sense than Sophie for Sophie's character. Now, please turn your attention to the last line. 

"which is what Sophie really does: gain wisdom and make EVERYONE around her WISER"

ok... yeah nope. 

How does Sophie make everyone around her wiser? Sometimes she gives them more information about the human life, but once again, that is not wisdom that she is giving that is knowledge about humans live. She gains wisdom, that is true, but she definitely does not SPREAD it. In fact, I would even dare to say that the people around her know what is up and have a lot more decent ideas than she has ever had. 

Just like Tam said once, (I don't remember the exact wording but it was somewhat along the lines of when he went to the Neverseen because they would hurt Linh and Sophie was like, "We will protect her!") 

Then Tam, being the down-to-earth and actually has a firm grasp on reality says something along the lines of: "Can you though?" or something like that. This is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT RIGHT, because Sophie CANNOT manage to protect the people that she cares about. She tries, that's for sure, but everybody tries to do things. You "tried" to win a contest, but you didn't! That's what makes the difference! 

The only part of this I agree with is that she definitely gains wisdom because everyone day by the day is doing that! I'm gaining wisdom, and so are you! That's how wise people come to be, you don't just pop out of the womb spouting things like: "Death is another path, one we must all take" and "It is the small things, everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keeps the darkness at bay. Simple acts of love and kindness." (Bonus points if you know who said these). Everybody, I repeat EVERYBODY learns and gains wisdom, so if you put it that way, then everyone's name should be Sophie! 

Ok, I included this for fun, but seriously, imagine reading a book about somebody called Agnes McWeenie. I don't think I could suffer through a book where the main characters name is Agnes McWeenie. Imagine how Keefe says Foster all the time, now imagine him saying McWeenie all the time. I don't think so! Or Team McWeenie-Keefe? I imagine there would not be four guys (Fitz, Keefe, Valin and Dex) liking her if her last name was McWeenie. Oh gods, I can just imagine the entire KOTLC series starring Agnes McWeenie...
