Chapter 60

A/N wouldn't the song in the media make the best wedding song?, anyway on to the chapter.

Percy's point of view

In the days following that day Amber started her training, and we spent as much time together as we could. About a week after Amber was made a goddess the subject of wedding plans came up. Neither of us really wanted a big wedding, but due to the fact that I'm king of the gods, and she would become queen of the gods by marrying me, I'm not sure if we had much choice in the matter but to go with a bigger one, since I was so respected basically everyone would want to be a part of it.

I knew who I wanted my groomsmen and best man to be, but it wasn't so easy for Amber. All her friends and family were mortals except for Luke, so everyone else she knew were still clueless to the fact that the Greek gods exist. Her father had died when she was in high school, and after that her mother had fallen into a depression. Now they don't really get along, and rarely talk. After the meeting where we made her a goddess I asked Amber what the fates had said to her. When she told me I sighed.

She said that they had told her she would be needed once the next prophecy started. So if the vote had gone against me, they would have interfered and told us that she had to become a goddess. I wasn't exactly pleased by that news, but there wasn't anything I could do about it. In another week we would reveal her to the camps, and then a couple days later would be the wedding.

I told Luke about it before Amber was revealed to everyone else, obviously he deserved to know first since she is his mother. When I told him he seemed to be happy for us, after all he had said that he wanted us to get back together. The day that we revealed her to the camps they were rather shocked, but that wasn't exactly surprising.

Like I had been she was a bit uncomfortable with all the attention she was getting now, but she would get used to it eventually. I had gotten used to it for the most part, I'd had no choice but to get used to it. When the day of the wedding finally came I don't think I'd ever been so nervous. I'd fought primordials, giants, and titans, but somehow I had never been as nervous then as I was when I stood waiting for Amber to come walking down the aisle toward me.

This was the moment that I thought I might never get to experience. My mom and Hera had helped with the planning and decorations, so the color scheme wasn't completely crazy. Grover was my best man, and Tyson, Jason, Frank, and Leo were my groomsmen. When I saw Amber walking toward me, it was hard not to stare at her. Although I had always thought she was beautiful, she certainly was that day. One of my favourite things about her was her natural beauty, she was beautiful without even trying. Anytime I told her that, she would take the compliment, but I'm pretty sure she never really believed it. That day it seemed wasn't really much different. She didn't have a lot of makeup on, but what she did have only enhanced her most beautiful features, such as her blue eyes.

Her blond hair was in a half up half down style, and her dress was a traditional white dress, but it was strapless, and had lace, and other details, such as a few rhinestones on it. I had to force myself not to stare at her. When she reached me Hera carried out the ceremony, the rings were just plain gold bands, with together forever engraved in them.

We said our vows, and then Hera said, "You may now kiss the bride."

I kissed amber passionately, but I pulled away before the kiss would seem too long.

After the wedding came the reception, the food was basically whatever a person wanted, with the exception of seafood. Amber and I danced, and I tried my hardest not to step on her toes, especially since she was wearing sandals. The wedding continued, people talked and danced, but I barely paid attention to what everyone else was doing, the only thing on my mind was that I finally had Amber by my side.

The party lasted for quite some time, at the end of it Amber and I walked back to my palace, hand in hand. We were happier than we had been in a while. As we passed them most of the nymphs and minor goddesses that would normally either be staring at me, or trying to get my attention had obvious looks of jealousy. I suppressed a smirk at that, they should have given up on trying to win me over years ago since they had no chance of succeeding.

As we walked through Olympus Amber looked around at all the palaces, temples and other buildings that we passed. I guess she still wasn't quite used to her new surroundings. All the buildings did look impressive, but for me there was always the thought that most of them were designed by my ex-girlfriend, hanging over my head.

To be honest I had started to wonder if I should accept my dad's offer, and have a palace built under the sea. After Annabeth disappeared her title of architect of Olympus had been given to one of Athena's other children who also had an interest in architecture. Until I made up my mind tough, we would stay in my current palace.

We arrived at my palace, and I let go of her hand, allowing her to explore a bit. I guess since it was getting late she didn't bother looking around much, she just followed me upstairs. We changed out of our wedding clothes and got ready for bed. We got into the bed and for a short time we just laid there facing each other, just happy that we had been able to get this far. Finally she said, "It seems that you attract female attention everywhere you go."

Slightly amused I replied, "True, but unlike Apollo and Hermes I don't take advantage of that. The only Person I'm interested in being with is you."

After I said that I kissed her, and she returned it. I wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer to me. I knew enough about Apollo and Hermes to know that they would probably ask questions in the morning about tonight, but even if I was willing to tell them, there would be nothing to tell. I know what they would be expecting to hear, but they would be disappointed.

I was so happy that I finally had Amber by my side after us having to be apart for so long. As those thoughts went through my head, I noticed that she had fallen asleep. I smiled at her. Gods technically don't sleep the same way mortals do, for us it's more like a half asleep half-awake state, since we don't need sleep as badly as mortals, and because we still have to keep control over our domains.

The next morning at breakfast Amber said, "I want to go back to the apartment to get some things that I would like to keep."

"Well what do you want to get, I could just summon it here." I asked

She asked, "Could I summon it here?"

I replied "Yeah, but since you haven't learned about all your powers yet it might not work on the first try."

I just figured that it would be quicker, and a lot less work if I just summoned the items she wanted here. I wasn't sure why she asked if she could do it, maybe she was just eager to learn her powers.

While those thoughts were going through my head she asked, "How do I do it?"

I told her, but I once again warned her that it might not work on her first try. Despite my warning she tried it. Instead of going to her dresser and closet here, like I suspected she had wanted them to the clothing items she had tried to summon appeared in front of her, hitting her in the face before falling to the floor. She looked slightly embarrassed and annoyed, meanwhile I was trying and failing to supress my laughter. As she was gathering up her clothes she shot me a glare which didn't affect me. She went to put the clothes away, and when she came back she was still in a sour mood.

"You know you're cute when you're annoyed." I commented. She didn't bother to respond.

I said, "How about we go to your apartment to get whatever else you want."

She just nodded in response still seeming slightly annoyed that her first attempt at using  that particular  power hadn't quite worked.

I teleported us to her old apartment, and she walked back to her old bedroom. I waited, not knowing what she was getting. Shortly after she came back carrying a large cardboard box. Glancing at it I could see that it contained a lot of books, but a couple of them looked like photo albums. She also gathered up any photos she had framed from the walls and tables and added them to the box. After she had gathered up everything that she wanted to take we had two boxes full of the items she wanted. We returned to our palace. I had already sent most of Luke's things that he still wanted to my cabin at camp for him. After we got back to our palace, she started rooting through one of the boxes. After she got what she wanted I could see that it was one of the photo albums. After that she rooted in the box and pulled out the second one.

She said, "I thought you might want to see these."

I flipped through the first one, and saw numerous pictures of Amber and Luke. Some of them were Luke's baby pictures, while others were obviously more recent. The pictures did bring a smile to my face, but they also reminded me that I had missed out on so much by not being able to be there for Luke and Amber until now. I suppressed a sigh, but Amber must have noticed my mood.

She asked me "What's wrong?"

I thought over my response before saying "Thank you for showing me those, while I am happy to see what you and Luke have done over the years, but in a way they also remind me what I missed out on by not being able to stay with you. Through the years I did watch over you and Luke, but only as much as I had too, so I still missed out on seeing many of the events most parents look forward to in their child's life."

She nodded understanding, kissed me, and then said, "You can still have that chance. I'd be willing to have another child with you."

I smiled at her, but even if we did have another child they would most likely be a god or goddess, meaning they would grow up much faster than normal children. Despite that I wouldn't be against having more children, but that wouldn't be for a while. For one amber would need time to get used to her new position, and I wasn't in a rush, since we're immortal we have lots of time.
