A/N Finally I finished the new update, I'm still pissed, and I'm sorry if you don't like that language, but that is the first word that comes to mind when I think about how annoyed I am. anyway I'm still pissed that wattpad took my old account down. I just wanted to say that I finished the Trials of Apollo the other day, and as Apollo might say They were awesome. for one solangelo is cannon. anyway on to the chapter.
Grover's point of view
The battle continued, I couldn't help but notice when the wall of monsters in front of us began to thin, I figured that meant that Tartarus was tiring, and wasn't able to summon monsters right from Tartarus, either that, or he was weakening and wasn't able to get as many monsters. As I fought I ran into Percy again, we fought on, eventually I noticed that Percy seemed to get distracted, as a result, he narrowly avoided getting stabbed with a dracna's trident. I couldn't help but be a bit curious about what had got his attention. First I glanced at Percy, and I could see that he had a slight smile on his face, and what I thought was pride in his eyes.
I looked in the direction that he had been looking, and I saw a demigod cutting through monsters like they were nothing. Occasionally with more difficult monsters it would seem like the monster would freeze in place, or move slower than usual.
I could see that the boy had black hair, he wore armor over a Camp Half-Blood tee shirt and jeans, and he fought with a celestial bronze sword and shield, he also had a bow and a quiver of arrows that was starting to run low on his back. Since his back was to us I couldn't really guess his age but I noticed that he didn't have a camp necklace so I assumed that he was a new camper that had arrived while I was away. The most shocking thing about him though was what he had tied around his waist, tied there like you might tie any jacket that you had but no longer needed was clearly the nemean lion's pelt. There was no mistaking it I would recognize that thing anywhere. As I fought I was trying to figure out who that kid was.
When I thought about the look on Percy's face as he had seen the demigod, the boy's black hair that was a lot like Percy's, the way he wielded a sword with the skill of a master, the fact that as the boy fought more powerful monsters, they appeared to freeze in place or slow down. All these clues seemed to fit together like the pieces of a puzzle. Several years ago Percy had told me that he had a demigod son, and I was sure that the boy ahead of us must be that boy.
To be honest I was shocked when Percy had first told me about him, I thought that after everything Percy had been through he might have been the only Olympian god to not have demigod children. Instead one day when we were talking he had told me that he had fallen for some mortal woman, and as a result he had a son. Now I couldn't help but wonder if the boy ahead of us was Percy's son. As best I could tell his fighting style was a lot like Percy's his hair was a lot like Percy's, the look I had seen on Percy's face reminded me of the look I get every time I spend time with my daughter. After I killed another monster I glanced back at Percy. I said "Perce." "Yeah?" he replied. I said "Was that boy you were looking at a minute ago...?" "My son." Percy finished for me smiling slightly. He continued "yeah that's him, he got to camp a few weeks ago, and shortly after this war started. I haven't gotten around to telling him my whole story, so he doesn't know about you yet. We will have to properly introduce you when this is all over." I nodded. As we fought I noticed Percy's son, correction it was either him or Percy. Blew up a fire hydrant spraying several monsters in the face disorienting them. Percy's son who I remembered was named Luke quickly killed the disoriented monsters. I decided that it had probably been him who caused the fire hydrant to explode. We fought on. at one point I noticed that Luke saved a girl when he deflected a monster's blade as she was retrieving her own. What happened was that she had been using a bow, but she had run out of arrows.
During the battle we had been forced back, and now we were only a few blocks away from the empire state building. At one point an elephant ran past us trampling any monsters in its path, I think we both figured out who that was. Shortly after that we lost track of Luke, as we concentrated on the monsters in front of us. Honestly I think we were all shocked when we broke through the line of monsters and saw some of our best friends tied up, in Percy's case he saw some of his best friends and his son. And standing over them all was Tartarus himself.
Tied together were Chris Rodriguez, Thalia, The Stoll brothers, Leo Valdez, Jason, Frank, Hazel, and Luke Percy's son. I think Percy noticed Tartarus first since he paled and said something in ancient Greek that I won't repeat. But when he saw who Tartarus had captured well let's just say I'm glad that I wasn't Tartarus. When Tartarus saw Percy he said "Perseus we meet again, if I remember correctly the last time we encountered each other within my domain, you let two friends die in order to save your own skin. The only reason Iapetus has returned was because I falsely believed that he could be convinced to support me in this war, otherwise he would still be dead. I killed him after I killed Damasen. You let them die for you, when all you did was give them false hope that they could change their fate, that they would survive." As far as I knew Percy and Annabeth had told no one of what happened to them in Tartarus, not even me, but when I glanced at Percy I saw a mix of pain and guilt on his face. Tartarus was still talking, he said "Are you going to let these demigods do the same? Surrender and these demigods will live, otherwise they will be just as dead as Damasen."
Shouts of "don't!", or "don't listen to him!" came from the tethered demigods. Tartarus yelled "Silence!" a telekhine smacked Travis upside the head when he didn't shut up. Tartarus said "So Perseus, are you going to let these demigods die just like Ipaetus and Damasen did, including your own son." "How about none of the above." A new voice said. I glanced in the direction of the voice and saw a demigod who looked to be in his twenties, I realized that he was Nathan jones son of Hecate.
One thing was different about him than the last time I saw him, his face showed obvious pain, but I got the feeling that his pain wasn't physical. He muttered something under his breath, and the bonds on the captured demigods snapped. That was the good thing, the bad thing was that all of them had been stripped of their weapons and armor, the only one who had a weapon was Luke. After the demigods were freed, Percy's face returned to its previous expression of anger and determination.
He headed toward Tartarus in order to protect the weaponless demigods. I followed him. Nathan also headed over to help. In retaliation for freeing the demigods Tartarus lashed out toward Nathan with an attack that the son of Hecate couldn't avoid Tartarus stabbed Nathan through the chest killing him almost instantly. Percy focusing entirely on Tartarus said "Tartarus, I believe that there was something that you failed to consider when you started this war. We defeated Gaea, she was a powerful enemy, but she was still defeated by demigods because they separated her from her domain. It was foolish of you to start this war since you quite willingly left your domain. You are vulnerable, and we can and will defeat you."
Sometimes I'm not sure where his courage and determination come from, even after knowing him for so long there are still things that surprise me about him. Regardless Percy faced Tartarus with determination on his face, along with his sword he summoned a staff that I hadn't seen him use before. I would have to ask him about that later. Percy and Tartarus began fighting, for a moment I thought that Luke was also going to help with the primordial, but Percy sent him a look that clearly said stay out of this.
Shortly after Percy started fighting the primordial the other Olympians and a titan broke through the ranks of our forces that stood back watching the battle between the Olympian and the primordial. I thought to myself wow great timing guys we could have used you a while ago. The Olympians began getting into positions where they could help Percy fight the primordial. Apollo and Artemis fired arrows at him from a distance. Taking advantage of his speed Hermes would zip in and blast the titan with his caduceus's laser mode, and just as quickly zip away before the primordial could retaliate.
As you might guess Poseidon was right up next to his son facing the primordial. He also summoned a hurricane, he didn't go overboard by summoning one that was so powerful that it would cause a lot of damage to New York. He just created it to make it more difficult for the primordial to fight. The falling rain also refreshed Poseidon, Percy and Luke restoring some of their energy and began to heal their wounds. Piper and Aphrodite tried to use their powers to talk the primordial into falling asleep, the battle continued like this for a while, and most where uncertain if it would be enough.
