Piper's point of view

When the battle started I was helping out a group of demigods, and a group of centaurs. Artemis was also there with some of her hunters. Even with me and Artemis somehow we got pushed back, Artemis and I helped some demigods and the hunters kill a dracon, then we went back to fighting the other monsters.

A few times I talked monsters into killing each other. Eventually I noticed something that made me rather worried. Up ahead I saw female giant, and this didn't look like Periboia my mother's giant. That could only mean one thing, it meant that she is the giant Tartarus made to oppose me. I had been worried about facing her ever since I had learned of her.

You might wonder why I am so worried when I had fought giants before and that was when I was a demigod. Well the truth is that that giant wasn't made specifically to cancel out my powers and defeat me. I'm guessing that all my powers will be useless on her.

Or if she has some similar abilities to me she could cause a lot of damage, considering that two of my domains are persuasion and bravery. She might be able to do something similar to what Percy's giant did yesterday. That would not be good.

Resigning myself to the fact that someone had to defeat her before she caused too much damage I fought my way toward her. She looked kind of like my mother's giant, she had a similar appearance but she was shorter than her, about twenty five feet, instead of thirty.

Even though she was shorter than Periboia, she was still taller than me at my full godly height, that would make this more difficult. Her armor was similar but not quite the same, Like Periboia she used a sword instead of a spear, I usually use Katoptris in dagger form but it can extend into a sword. Considering that she will be almost twice my height I think I will be better off with a sword.

I walked up to her and grew to my full godly height. She said "Piper ever since I was created I have looked forward to this moment. I am Hypatia, I will defeat you and take your place in the new era that will follow the defeat of the gods.

Determination filled me I was sick of this, enemies popping up every few years wanting to defeat us. Even though I hadn't fought in the second titan war, I knew how those who did must feel, we get a few years of peace and then another enemy pops up trying to destroy us. I'd had enough of it. Even though I figured it probably wouldn't work I said "You will not be taking my place you will surrender and never oppose us again." My voice was thick with my powers of persuasion, but as I suspected they had no effect whatsoever.

She said "Oh Piper, you should have known that wouldn't work, I am not so easily tricked." I didn't really believe it would work I just figured it was worth a try. After that I raised Katoptris and made it extend until it was a sword. That was really all I had left to use against her since I figured that if my persuasion powers had backfired I figured that my other powers wouldn't work either.

When I raised my sword she swung hers at me. I dodged the blow and then I swung at her. We fought for a while eventually she said "you might as well give up now, you can't defeat me." I responded saying "How about I remind you that there is a large force of demigods behind me any one of which could help me defeat you." I guess she couldn't come up with a response to that so we continued fighting.

While I was fighting her I thought I heard creaking noises, weird, after I ducked under a strike that had been aimed at my head I heard a voice yell "Need some help there beauty queen!" and then two flaming hammers flew past me and hit Hylpatia's breastplate making the metal crumple from the impact. Moments later my friend yelled "You might want to move out of the way a bit!" After I moved hypatia's upper body was hit with a wave of flames. I glanced to my left and I saw a familiar demigod on a familiar metal dragon. It was Leo who had helped me, he had thrown the hammers and the fire had been from Festus's mouth.

I could feel the heat from them where I was standing, but none hit me. After Festus stopped blowing fire I aimed another blow at Hypatia, who was still distracted after Festus's fire. She tried to block it but wasn't quite fast enough I stabbed my sword through her breastplate that was weakened from the hammers and fire stabbing her in the chest.

When she was gone I turned to Leo I said "Thanks for the help Leo." He said "Anytime beauty queen." I was about to shrink down to normal size but first I said "You be careful Valdez, you don't want to leave Calypso without a husband or Evan without a father do you?"

Serious for once he said "No I don't I'll be careful, besides I'll have to be there for the new arrival when she comes." It took me a moment to grasp his meaning but I smiled and said "Calypso's pregnant?" he smiled and nodded and then flew off. we would talk more once this war is over. For now we have to concentrate on winning this war then hopefully we would have peace for a while.

The news that calypso was pregnant again was a bit of a surprise, I mean part of me wondered if one kid would be enough for calypso. Leo had matured some but not that much so he was still causing trouble and being his typical self. Since their son was a lot like his dad, well Calypso has her hands full with those two. It's almost like she has two kids instead of just one. Sure Leo is one of my best friends but he can be childish at times. I was happy for them nonetheless.

I am kind of hoping that once this war ends Jason will propose to me. just because we are immortal doesn't mean he can wait forever to do stuff like that. I think if he waits much longer my mom will have a fit. Anyway there are more important things to think about right now. I continued to fight defeating monster after monster, but the monster army seemed almost endless.

Nico's point of view

I was fighting when I saw Percy's son Luke fighting nearby, he sliced through monsters like they were nothing, if you didn't know better you would think he had been using a sword for years when in reality he had only been doing it for a few weeks.

I was rather surprised when I learned of Luke, but since Percy is like a brother to me. in a weird way Luke felt like a nephew to me. I saw Luke head toward two demigods who were fighting a very powerful monster. I knew that the last people to defeat it were Percy, Thalia, Grover, Zoe Nightshade, and my sister Bianca.

I figured that Luke and the other two demigods would need help if they were going to defeat that particular monster, so I headed toward them once I was close enough I realized that the other two demigods were my half-brother Hudson, and Luke's other friend the son of Nike, Scooter I think his name is. It's hard to know everyone's names at camp these days since there are so many demigods and legacies.
