Chapter 9: Percy
Chapter 9: Percy
Apparently, Bianca needs a little work on her shadow traveling skills. I looked down to find my foot mushed into some scrambled eggs. The others were standing with me, on top of other people's breakfast.
I looked around. At least we were at Camp Half Blood. My heart raced when I saw the woods and canoe lake. I could even see the pegasus stables by the strawberry fields. Standing alone in one of the stalls was a pure black one, with obsidian wings. Blackjack! Gods, I missed him. I was so caught up in looking around, that I failed to realize everyone was looking at us with confusion and fear on their faces.
Awkward.
I cleared my throat. I was kinda the leader, so the others waited for me to say something. But in reality, I had know idea what to say, so I said the first thing to come to my mind.
"Um... Sup?"
I could hear the others groaning behind me. I jumped off the table I was on. The eggs had started to leak into my socks. The others followed my lead and when they were all off, I cleared my throat.
"So... hi. The six of us have been sent by Lord Chaos to help you in your time of need. We're gonna train you guys and um, help you fight stuff."
I thought it was a good speech, but I saw Zoe just roll her eyes. Mutters erupted from all the campers, but Zoe gestured for everyone to remain silent. She cleared her throat and began to talk.
"For those of you who don't know, Lord Chaos is one of the most powerful beings in creation, more powerful than the gods. For years, he's trained a small group of heroes to help the world when it's in extreme danger. Like now. We are those heroes. With Tartarus rising, you guys'll need all the help you can get. That's why we're here. Any questions?" No one moved.
"Good. Now that that's cleared up-"
"Hey! Who are you guys and why are you at my camp?" I turned and saw a group of demigods emerging from the rec room. Looking around, I could see my old friends- all of the seven, Clarisse, Thalia, Nico, the Stolls- running towards us, weapons drawn. Chrion was in the back with a couple other campers.
Then my vision tunneled. I saw storm, grey eyes and golden, blonde hair. She looked fierce, with her dagger pulled and a determined look on her face. It was her.
Annabeth.
