Chapter 13: Percy

Heyyy I'm back

Someone commented that I should make my chapters longer

I thought they were already pretty long, but the more words the better right?

More writing is more happiness, right?

Did we all enjoy that Percabeth flashback in the last chapter?

Cause I know I did :)

Enjoy dorks

Chapter 13: Percy

I almost got trampled.

I watched Annabeth's blonde hair swing back and forth as she walked, her hair almost glowing in the sunlight. She was at the front of our little group, laughing and talking with Bianca. I stayed at the back, trying not to be seen. I felt bad enough about disarming Annabeth, but when I saw that tear roll down her cheek, I almost died.

She was showing us around Camp Half Blood, which was kind of unnecessary. I knew this place like the back of my hand, but I still accepted the tour. Hey, I'll take any chance I can get to hang out with Annabeth.

Well, more like stare at creepily hoping she doesn't notice.

We came to a halt at the pegasus stables, the last stop on our little tour. Annabeth turned around to face us, gesturing to the stables behind her.

"These are the pegasus stables. They've experienced battle before, so they're not very skittish. We have a flying chariot also, but that's by the Ares cabin." She let out a small laugh. "Long story."

Boss, is that you? Yo! Been a long time since I seen you! Thought you were dead or something! Gods, did ya bring a doughnut?

I turned around, confused. Did someone just call me a boss?

All of a sudden, I saw a pure black pegasus charging towards me. Blackjack! Oh gods, he was gonna run me over. He galloped towards me fast, his dark wings spread out on either side of him.

Blackjack, I thought, Slow down! You're gonna run right ov- ack!

Before I knew it, I was on the ground with a pegasus on top of me. I groaned as Blackjack jumped off my chest, leaving a hoof-print on the front of my cloak. Beckendorf winced and pulled me up.

Uh, boss. Sorry bout that. Haven't seen ya in a while, ya know? Got excited.

Blackjack, I groaned, Never do that again. I'm happy to see you too.

Annabeth looked at me confused as I brushed off the dirt on my cloak. I flinched when I touched my chest. I might've cracked a couple of ribs.

'I'm really sorry. Omega, Blackjack probably just got excited or scared or something," Annabeth said as she glared at the horse. Blackjack cocked his head and looked at me.

Omega? Why's Blondie callin' you Omega? I shook my head.

I'll explain later, Blackjack. Not now, ok? Just treat me like a stranger for now. I'll give you some donuts, I coaxed.

Deal. Blackjack whinnied and walked back to his stable. I turned toward Annabeth.

"Don't worry about it," I tried laughing, but it came out as a groan.

"Never seen a black pegasus before. I'm fine, let's just keep going."

Obviously, no one fell for it. Annabeth looked at me exasperated and Bianca just shook her head. Silena walked towards me, placing a delicate hand on my shoulder.

"Omega, you're bleeding." I looked down confused, when I realized that my arm had a deep gash in it. I was losing blood and fast. The sleeve of my cloak was getting soaked. Annabeth moved closer, examining my wound.

"You're going to have to take off that cloak," she said getting closer, "we need to head to the infirmary. We can get you some nectar and wrap up that arm."

I pulled away from her, shaking my head.

"You guys go ahead. I'll head to the infirmary myself. The cloak stays."

Annabeth glared at me suspiciously. She looked at my arm again and sighed.

"Look, I don't care how 'powerful' you are. A cut like that needs to be wrapped up, cloak off. Besides, you're not going to be able to wrap it up with one arm. I'll come with you."

She crossed her arms, giving me a look that said "Go ahead and argue. I dare you." If we were still dating, I wouldn't have gone against her. But since I'm Omega now...

I did dare.

"No. I said to continue. Go ahead and set up camp. Annabeth, show them where to go." I jerked my thumb toward Silena.

"She can help me wrap my wound. Now go." Annabeth stared at me, furious. She clearly didn't like being bossed around. Her face was red with anger and her grey eyes turned a few shades darker. She opened her mouth to argue, but Bianca stopped her.

"That's a great idea, Omega. Annabeth, thank you so much for giving us this tour. If you could just show us the campsite, we'll get out of your hair and set up camp."

Bianca wrapped an arm around Annabeth's shoulder and started tugging her towards the woods. After glaring at me one last time, Annabeth relented and let herself be led away by Bianca.

For someone she had just met, Annabeth seemed to have grown a liking towards Bianca. I looked at Zoe and Luke confused. They shrugged and began to follow the Bianca and Annabeth parade. I sighed once again and let Silena lead me toward the infirmary.

"Wow, Perce. Since when did you become Mr. Big Shot?" Silena looked at me in shock and poked at me teasingly.

"I don't know," I sighed, "I just can't let her see my face, you know that Silena. Besides, maybe I should be more strict. We are at war after all, and I am the leader technically."

Silena sighed. She took off my cloak and fed me some ambrosia while wrapping my arm in some gauze. I winced as she tightened it, probably tighter than it should've been.

"Percy, you are the leader. And I guess that we do need someone to step up and take charge. Everyone's okay with you being stricter. But there's a fine line between being a leader and being a tyrant. Just be careful, alright? You don't want Annabeth to hate you."

My stomach twisted at that thought. Maybe it's better this way. If she hates me, then I won't feel the need to reveal myself. Besides, I gotta get over her. I need to be strong. Annabeth looks like she's forgotten all about me. Still as strong and determined as I remember. It's been five years. If she forgot about me, than I can forget about her.

"Why would I care if Annabeth hates me?"

Silena shot me look.

"Why wouldn't you?"
