Thankfully I didn't have to work today , so I get to sleep in until 12 then I have to get up and take Marie to my parents because I have a lunch with the girls then we're going dress shopping for Zariyah's wedding which is in 4 months.

I heard the tv cut on and opened one eye to see Marie watching Disney. I reached over and grabbed my iPhone 6S Plus and saw the time was 11:00. I sighed and sat up. Marie looked back and smiled.

Marie: Good morning mama.

Me: Morning baby.

I kissed her head.

Me: Where's your brother?

Marie: Playing game. 

Me: Okay. What you want to eat for breakfast?

Marie: Bacon and Eggs!

I laughed and tickled her making her laugh and squirm.

Me: Bacon and eggs it is.

I got up and went into the bathroom. I did my business , washed my face , washed my hands and brushed my teeth and walked out.

Marie: Mama?

Me: Yes ma'am?

Marie: When can I meet daddy?

Me: Whenever daddy comes back.

Marie: You've been saying that since I've been born.

I could see the tears building up in her light eyes and her lip begin to quiver.

I sat down and pulled her into my lap.

Me: Marie , baby , daddy is serving the country.

Marie: Serving them what? Food?

I smiled and shook my head no.

Me: Nope. She's making the world a better place for children like you.

Marie: Will she come back?

Me: Of course she will.

Marie: When?

Me: When they let her.

Marie: Who is they?

Me: Her boss.

Marie: Does everybody have a boss?

Me: Yes they do.

Marie: Even you?

Me: Even me.

Marie: Oh. 

Me: Mhm.

Marie: Mama?

Me: Yes?

Marie: I love you.

Me: I love you more pumpkin.

I put her down and grabbed my phone and we walked out the room. I opened Ja'Bree's room door.

Me: Eggs and Bacon for breakfast.

Ja'Bree: Can we have it in a omelet? 

Me: Yeah , I'll make yours in an omelet , while I get breakfast started , get in the shower and get dressed.

Ja'Bree: Yes ma'am.

I picked Marie up and put her on my hip and went down the stairs and into the kitchen. I put some of her toys on the floor and began the food.

I finished the food and called Ja'Bree down over the intercom. He came down and sat at the table.

Me: Watch your sister. I'm going to shower. When your finished take her into her room and put her in the playpen and cut on Mickey Mouse and keep an eye out for her. When I'm out you can get in the shower since you didn't do what I told you to before I even started breakfast.

Ja'Bree: Yes mom.

I went up to my room and took out my clothes and put them on the bed. I went and got in the shower.

I slipped on my High Vans and went into the bathroom. I did my bun and put on Eyeliner , Mascara and Black Lipstick. I walked out and slipped my phone into my crossbody and grabbed the keys to the Black Maserati Ghibli and went into Ja'Bree's room.

Me: Alright , go shower.

We got in the car and I drove off.

Ja'Bree: Mom.

Me: Yeah.

Ja'Bree: Can we listen to Fetty Wap?

Me: Sure , why not.

I hooked my phone up and played the Fetty Wap Playlist and Jimmy Choo came on. We rapped all his songs until we got to my moms house. Yep , they moved down here. I parked and got the kids out and we walked in after I unlocked the door. Ja'Bree ran in yelling Grandmas while I held Marie.

They were in the kitchen cooking.

Me: Hey mamas.

I kissed their cheek and took a piece of chicken and tore it up for Marie and I as Jabree was eating his own piece.

Sierra: Hey sweetie. How are you?

I'm sad. I'm worried. 

Me: Im fine.

Mom: Are you really?

I sighed and sat at the table.

Me: Kids go play.

Ja'Bree grabbed Marie and ran off. I took the water mom was drinking.

Sierra: So what's wrong.

Me: Everything. Its so hard to raise two kids. Like yesterday I couldn't go into work cause the babysitter had to go to an ceremony for some awards , so I couldn't go in. Its just so stressful.

Mom: Tell me about it. I raised you on my own. Nobody's help. The babysitter was nice an all , but could only come on certain days and I had to work every day to support you. But you know what?

She sat infront of me.

Me: No , what.

Mom: I was strong and I got through it. Your gonna do the same because your strong as well.

Me: No I'm not mama. I'm not strong at all. Im nothing like you-

Mom: Who do you think you got your strength from cause it surely as hell wasn't ya dad. 

Me: I know mama it's just-

I sighed.

Me: I dunno mama. I just miss Lexi. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Mom: Sweetie , listen to your self. You have done so much without her around. Your taking care of 2 kids. Your a nurse. That's alot for just a mother.

I smiled and nodded.

Me: It is isn't it.

Mom: Yes baby and when Lexi comes home , your going to be that same great mother you were when Lexi wasn't there.

Me: Okay mama. 

Mom: No problem. 

She kissed my forehead and resumed the cooking.

Me: I better go now. I have a lunch with the girls then we're going dress shopping for Zariyah's wedding.

Sierra: Tell my baby I said to call me.

Me: Will do. Bye ladies.

They laughed and shooed me out the kitchen. I kissed my babies and left. I got in the car and my phone started ringing as soon as I got in. I didn't know the number but somebody could've gotten a new one so I answered.

Me: This is Nicole.

??: Well listen to you sounding all professional.

Me: Lexi?

??: Yep , its me.

Me: Aren't you supposed to be out in the field?

Lexi: Oh so you don't wanna talk to me?

I laughed and cut on the car.

Me: Of course I do. I haven't spoken to you in months.

Lexi: Where you headed?

Me: How you know I was going somewhere?

Lexi: I heard the music.

Me: Oh. Well in that case , I'm meeting the girls for a lunch.

Lexi: How are they?

Me: They are good. Zariyah's getting married in 4 months.

Lexi: Hope I'm home to see that.

Me: I do too.

Lexi: How are my kids?

Me: They're mine too and they are good. Marie keeps asking when is daddy coming home.

Lexi: What do you tell her?

Me: Soon.

Lexi: Yeah , I'll be coming home to you soon baby.

Me: I know. 

Lexi: I never asked , but how are you?

Me: That's a long story.

Lexi: Well make it fast.

I laughed and turned the corner.

Me: I think I'm a bad mother.

Lexi: What? Why?

Me: Cause I don't know if I can do this.

Lexi: Do what.

Me: Raise two kids all alone.

Lexi: Your not alone. You got the girls and even your parents.

Me: I wish I had you.

Lexi: I know baby. I'll see you soon. I promise.

Me: How are you so sure.

Lexi: Don't worry about all that. I gotta go though.

Me: So soon?

Lexi: Yeah. I gotta go to training.

Me: Training?

Lexi: Oh right , the Marine Core is paying for my training so I can join the SRU once I'm out.

Me: The Strategic Response Unit? Like on Flashpoint?

Lexi: Yes. Just like on Flashpoint.

Me: That's amazing baby. 

Lexi: I know. But I gotta go. I love you.

Me: I love you too , bye.

Lexi: Bye baby.

We hung up , I turned my music back on and sighed.
