Dust

It is a windy day. The dust blew across the old, dusty, forgotten road. I walk ambly , quietly, so I'm not noticed. There is no sun to guide me on my way. Only the pale moonlight, which brings much more beauty than that of the sun.
The ground around me isn't barren, but full of lush Olive trees and tall, mid-thigh grass. Oh, how I love olives and the oil that they produce. But that is not why I am traveling. I am on the road that will lead me to Athens.
I was sent to Athens by my mother and father, to, sadly, marry. I am a man of only 17, but I must marry to bring my family honor and children. I am by no means ready or willing to marry, but my parents have already set it up.
I am to marry one of the fairest maidens in Greece. Alexandria Dublé.
She has olive colored skin. Dark brown eyes and reddish brown hair. She is very pretty. And rich. Her father is a count of a very large section of Athens. She is almost as wealthy as my family.
Alexandria has two older brothers. Jaxon, 21 and Jakòb (pronounces Yakob), 25. They are both mouth wateringly handsome. Jaxon is tall at least 6'4. With a large, muscular build due to being a soldier. He has dark green eyes, and dark, short, Auburn hair. He is also very tan from so many days in the sun.
Jakòb is a little taller that Jaxon. He is also very muscular due to being a general in the fierce, veracious, Greek army. He has beautiful, short, blonde hair and sparkling, mischievous blue eye. He is also very tan.
I, myself, have been told I am very handsome. Perhaps the most handsome suitor in my town. My only problem is I lack height, which overall makes me less intimidating.
     Let me introduce myself.
My name is Nikolai Lansotov. I have a very pale complexion, with a sharp jaw. Roman nose, and high, sharp cheekbones. My mother says they could cut a block of cheese. I have midnight black hair with dark blue eyes. My eyebrows are arched and point slightly up at the end.
I am the youngest of five children. I have two older brothers. Samuel and Benjamin. Sam is away in the war while Ben was killed in it. I have two older sister, Kena and Kenzie. Who are twins. They are very rude, snobbish, and married obscenely wealthy men. Sadly, both of their husbands died before they could have children.

    -Nikolai- time skip-
I have arrived outside of the city. I must wait for Jaxon and Jakòb. They are to bring horses and show me back to their home. My new home.

Clip-clop-clip-clop

"Hello, you must be Nikoli. I'm Jaxon and this is my brooding-man is my brother Jakob.

I swing my head towards the voice, bringing myself to attention. Once my vision clears, my seyes settle on two heartbreakingly, make anyone swoon, gorgeous men. And do I mean gorgeous.

I clear my throat. "Yes, I am Nikoli. It's a pleasure to meet you."

I walk towards their black steeds and reach out, in customary greeting, my hand and forearm. Jaxon leans down and grabs my forearm and hand with his large, solid hand. I do the same. His hand goes all the way around my forearm while mine barely goes halfway.

"You're very short.  You can't possibly be taller than 5'6. Are you sure you're a man and not a child?" Jaxon says laughing.

I hear a deep, gravely voice and realize Jakob is speaking. Whereares, Jaxon's voice is deep but smooth like silk, Jakob's voice is deep, loud and gravelly. But to me both of their voices sound like water running accross rocks on a cool summer day in the fields by my childhood home.

What is wrong with me?

"Jakob! That is no way to speak to our future brother-in-law!"

"Sorry." Jakob turns to me. "I was only joking around. But the rumors are true. You are very handsome."

Jakob hands me the bridal to the 3rd horse. The horse stands at 17 hands and is black, sleek and elegant. I will name him Shadow.

We ride through the city. People make sure to get out of our way and bow their heads in a sign of respect.  I ride between the two brothers. They keep looking at me out of the corners of their eyes.

I wonder why.
