Chapter 9 ~ BEST COMEBACK EVER

Hallo!

Here's this thing. Ye. Idk needed something to put here.

Um... I got nothing else to say until the end. So bye!

~<>~

I had to admit, Bladville wasn't very surprising on the terms of looks. The rooftops of the buildings curved up to the large skyscraper in the middle, with regular houses on the outskirts. The buildings were made of mostly stone and wood, looking all the same design. The whole thing was on an island that was a little bit above the ocean. A fall could probably kill a man in a few spots. But the whole view was actually beautiful with the sun starting to rise. It wasn't completely light yet; I could still see the stars.

Too late, I forgot to place down a torch. My cart hit the unpowered tracks, and I almost fell out of my seat from the sudden jerk. I quickly put one down before anyone else could experience the rough patch.

Wait, how are we gonna stop? I see the station, right in front of us, but I didn't want to end up as a mark on the wall.

"What do we do to stop?!" I yelled behind me.

No answer.

I looked behind and saw Infinity, Fred, and Jake with frustrated thinking looks.

"We're gonna have to slow to a stop!" Fred cried. "The impact is too much for us to survive!"

As I placed another one, I heard Jake say, "Got it! Don't power any more rails!"

I hesitated. I knew where he was going with this. I just hoped it was a good enough plan. Was this how he felt whenever I create a stupid life threatening plan? Huh. Bad feeling.

"Everyone hold on!" I shouted as loud as I could. Hopefully people took my advice, and also weren't asleep.

Then, we went on the unpowered rails. My cart almost tipped over from the sudden burst of friction. I snuck a look behind me and saw everyone else holding on for dear life. Sparks were created from the sliding friction.

But I could tell we were slowing down. The station was getting even nearer, and we were still sliding along.

When we finally went into the station, I was going slower than a cow. I looked to the side and saw people's jaws dropping as we slowly moved. I grinned and waved my hand, as if this was a regular thing.

My cart was just barely pressed against the brick wall before I stopped. Infinity's cart pressed against mine as the carts slowly pressed together to a stop.

"Everyone okay?" Jake said. Collective mutters answered him. Most were "yes".

I got out of my cart and stepped onto the tracks, along with everyone else. The civilians in the station still were shocked, not saying anything and just staring at us.

I tried for a smile. "Hi everyone. Um, as you can see, the train is gone. Well, we have a perfectly good explanation."

"Carl!" Fred said suddenly. He rushed forward to a person standing by an important looking booth, who looked just like him. They embraced in a bro hug.

"I ship it." Infinity whispered.

"Farl, or Cred?" I said, grinning.

"Mate! What happened here?" Carl said.

Fred's eyes widened. "It was crazy! Enderman attacked the train, blew up the track. No one got permanently hurt, and we managed to make carts and chug along the track."

"That is insane!" Carl said, shaking his head. "Why would Enderman attack an innocent train?"

"We got her." Fred pointed to me, and I waved.

Carl's expression got completely dark. "Oh. Okay. Well, I will go make a report on this. You should come for details."

Fred hesitated, raising an eyebrow, but went into the booth with him, leaving us alone.

The rich people started mingling with the civilians, and our little group got together.

"What now?" Gordon asked.

"Anyone know where we're supposed to go?" Mastermind looked around.

I frowned. "I know we're supposed to go introduce ourselves to important people, but where?"

"I got dis." Skye said.

He looked at the open wall, where the city was. It was cool because there was no wall, only columns. Very open.

"Okay, I took a sword fighting training course here last year, so I should know where we should go." He started to walk through the crowd, not even looking to see if we were following.

I looked at Jona, and he shrugged. Then, we all followed Skye.

~<>~

It was a very hostile city. As we walked down the streets, no one talked to us, they just whispered. Not that I wasn't used to that, but it was a very tense feeling. Plus, there were no minecarts to transport people in the road, so there were a lot more that were walking. Other than that, the city was quite pretty. More dark and creepy alleyways that I would have liked, but still pretty.

"Should be this building right here." Skye said, waving to a large stone building a few city blocks away. It was one of the tall skyscrapers near the center, but not the tallest.

"What's going on over there?" Abby asked. She pointed to a large alleyway opening in which a large group of people were gathered at the entrance.

"Looks kinda sketchy." Jake noted.

Infinity grinned. "So we should go check it out...?"

"We should go check it out." I nodded.

When we got to the large group of people, we weren't able to see past them. However, from the jeers and calls that they were yelling out, there must have been some kind of fight going on.

Gordon tried to see over the top of people's heads. "Can we get a good view?"

"Fire escape." Jon pointed to a set of stairs on the building next to us.

We all walked over to the stairs and started climbing up. The building was about four stories tall, so we got a good viewing point.

And I was right. It was a fight. Two guys were brawling in the middle of the crowd. It was an old fashioned fist fight (kinda like an unofficial boxing match), but wasn't clear who was winning. There were two chests with signs on them on the right wall (Even though they were far away, I could tell that they said "Damen" on one, and "Marcus" on the other.) They were half-filled with gold— sorry, budder— nuggets. As I watched, people tossed nuggets in them.

"Betting." Jake said loudly over the noise.

"GIVE HIM AN UPPERCUT!" Infinity screamed from the railing below me.

"Who are you talking to?" I heard Mastermind ask.

"Whoever will listen!"

One of them did. Guy #1 gave a right uppercut, followed by a left hook. If you were in the crowd on either side, your vision would be blocked by their heads, and you couldn't see the impact taking place, only that Guy #2's head whipped back and he backed away. But from my view, you could see that Guy #1's fists barely touched Guy #2's face, and that Guy #2's reaction was exaggerated.

This was a rigged fight.

Guy #2 lunged at Guy #1 and knocked him over. Guy #2 knelt on top of his chest and started punching his face for real this time. More people tossed nuggets into Marcus's chest, so it was twice as filled as Damen's.

"Betting is closed!" A pink-haired girl with few clothing walked over to the chests. "Now it's all about chance."

The two guys took a millisecond to look at the chests, and the girl closed them, barely able to shut Marcus's. Then, Guy #1 let out a great amount of strength to kick his legs up and roll with Guy #2, so they were both on the ground. They both got up and took their stances again. Guy #1 spit out something small and white. A tooth. He then sent one fist straight to Guy #2's chin, and he flew back. He landed square on his back, and groaned. Guy #2 tried to get up, the crowd cheering for him to, but he fell back down again, staying down.

As the crowd booed and yelled, Guy #1 grinned. The pink-haired girl went over to raise his hand high in the air, and shouted, "Damen is the winner!"

Most of the crowd left disappointed and mad, but some people stayed to collect their winnings from another guy that handled the chests.

"That was fun." Infinity said as we all started walking down the stairs.

"Alright break it up!"

A woman walked in. From the way she was dress, with dark blue clothes, blue hat and sunglasses, she was obviously a police officer.

"You people, out!" She told the crowd.

They left, annoyed about not getting their money.

She turned to the four people who were left— the two fighters, pink haired girl and another guy. "I thought I told you guys to quit this."

"Just a little tussle." Guy #1, or Damen, stepped forward. He grinned, showing that a tooth was gone from his otherwise perfect smile.

The officer grumbled something. "I can't keep letting you go this easy."

"But...?" I noticed he had an Australian accent.

She sighed. "I'll let you off the hook. But no more illegal fighting!"

"You have my word." Damen raised his hand. "Scouts honor."

The officer walked away, mumbling something about his promise being a load of spider crap.

After seeing what unfolded, we were starting to walk past the alleyway, but I stopped.

"Wait guys." I went into the alley.

From in there, I got a better look at everyone.

Damen was a tall, buff guy with short blonde hair and exotic kaleidoscopic eyes. He wore a white tang top and jeans, arm bands around his biceps, and an iron axe on his belt. He was actually pretty cute.

Marcus wasn't as buff, and had red hair and brown eyes. He had on a brown hoodie and light jeans.

The pink haired girl had dark gray eyes, a neon pink crop top, and a short black skirt (I cringed).

And the other guy was black haired, green eyed, and wore a yellow t-shirt and jeans.

"Sorry 'bout the tooth, buddy." Marcus went over to Damen, and patted him on the shoulder.

"Don't worry about it." Damen chuckled. "I'll live. You're lucky I missed that one hit. Would've killed ya.

"Would not!"

"I could kill you with both hands tied behind my back." He sighed.

"Yeah well, I could kill you if you hogtied me and stuffed an apple in my mouth!"

"That made no sense."

"Like your face."

OHHHHHHHH BEST COMEBACK EVER 2016 *horns blare* BRAH NEED SOME ICE FOR THAT BURN? WOW!

Carry on.

Damen shook his head. "How much money we got?"

"Still counting." The girl said. Excitedly, she added, "But I think this is our best one yet!"

"Shhh!" The other guy collected another gold nugget. "I'm trying to count!"

"Hey." I walked in casually.

They all jerked my way.

"Beat it kid." The girl rudely said. She couldn't have been more than two years older than me.

"Not talking to you, kid." I responded back in the same rude voice.

She started walking forward like she was going to beat me up, but Damen held his hand out to stop her. He looked at me with curiosity. "G'day. What can I do for you?"

"What was that all about?" I crossed my arms, raising an eyebrow.

"What was what about?" Marcus asked.

I rolled my eyes. "Honestly, you thought you could fool everyone. But I saw that those swings missed. That was a fake fight."

Marcus chuckled. "Wasn't fake. Damen even lost a tooth."

"That part wasn't, because you could obviously see if the hits were real or not. "

"Listen you little—" the girl started again.

"Hold up now, Lila." Damen cut her off, giving me an amused look. "She's right. It was mostly fake."

"Aha!" I exclaimed.

Infinity gasped behind me. "You didn't give him an uppercut?!"

Damen laughed. "I would've knock him out. I may be able to take a few hits, but he's as weak as a feather."

"Hey!" Marcus protested.

"No offense."

"Offense taken!"

"So what?" Jake said. "You start a fight, make Marcus look like he's gonna win so people bet on him, and then you win and take the money?"

"Yes." Damen shrugged.

Mastermind grunted. "Can't say I'm not impressed. Clever."

"Thank ya." He turned back to me. "Say, you look a little familiar. Did you ever bet on me?"

"No." I shook my head.

"Hey Kat." Abby whispered. "If we want to make it there before midday, we should go soon."

"It's been fun finding out your secrets." I said walking backwards. "But we must go."

"You're not gonna tell, are you?" Marcus asked.

"I won't. Don't know about Gordon—"

"I won't either." Gordon cut me off.

"—but your secret's safe with us."

They all looked at us curiously.

"You're a bunch of weird folks." Yellow shirt guy said.

"Thank you." I turned around and started walking.

"Nice talking to y'all!" Damen said.

When we were crossing the street I heard him whisper from far away, "Pretty sure she's that prophecy girl."

I ignored his last comment and kept walking.

~<>~

Damen is going to be a very unique character. I have big plans for him. Oh, and Marcus. Yeah, that guy too. But the other two are just characters to fill in some holes.

But it's a longer chapter than usual because because 😁

And during this time, I have hit 100 followers!!! If you haven't seen my message on my profile, it just talks about how a hundred people like me, yada yada yada.

I'm terrible with coming up with things to do for milestones. Soooo should I do a face reveal? Orrrrr something else? I have no idea.

Question: What is the biggest Minecraft build you've ever made?

Rock on, my little rebels.
