Chapter 4 ~ Gordon Wants To Eat Jona

Hallo!

Here is a song that I just felt in the mood for:

It's upbeat, fun, and just seems coo. I can imagine it playing at the train rolls out and goes across the land.

So you can play it on something else and listen to it while you read the chapter.

K bye.

~<>~

Notch really must've hated us, because we left later that day.

We didn't need much, since we were taking a very fancy train with excellent meals and yada yada yada. Nevertheless, we could still bring our weapons; the train is for higher class people that wouldn't want to kill anyone, for they are weak lose— I mean, civilized individuals. Also we got 100 nuggets. Gold nuggets are the currency, and if we wanted food it costed money.

Sky, Mitch, Preston, Charlie, and Notch were at the station to bid us farewell. Everyone in the train station saw that Notch was back, and saw me, so they just stared at us and whispered.

Mastermind was coming with us, as well as Skye and Jona (Skye temporarily closed his shop), but Charlie decided to stay.

"Are you sure you don't wanna come?" I asked him.

He shook his head. "I should stay here. This is your adventure."

I grinned, and gave him a fist bump. Then, I turned to the three council members.

"Goodbye, Hunger Games champ!" Mitch saluted me. I saluted to him.

Preston winked. "Try not to kill yourself."

"No promises." I gave him a fist bump as well.

Sky only gave me a smile. "You can do this. But don't do anything stupid."

I rolled my eyes, but smiled back. "Thanks."

Finally, I turned to Notch. "There's still so much I want to say..."

He put his hands on my shoulders, which felt weird. "You must do this. We will talk when you return. But don't cling onto your unanswered questions, and don't let the future haunt you."

I nodded solemnly.

"And whatever you do, don't trust any politicians." He said, seriously, as if my life depended on it (which it probably did). "Or anyone in the entire system, for that matter. These people can make you turn yourself around and stab you in the back when they have the first opportunity." Notch grinned. "Farewell!"

He let go, and I walked sideways to the train. "Yeah, you too..." I said, giving him a strange look.

"Ready?" Jake asked when I joined the group.

"Ready."

I like trains.

Haha, just had to say that. Anyways.

~<>~

The train we were in was a little more... elegant. The room had a fancy painting in it, as well as actual leather seats. It was made of white clay and sandstone, so the whole place seemed brighter. We were able to walk in and out of rooms, and there was a giant dining car. There were less people on board than the last one, but still pretty full.

When we got on, we went straight to our room. They were much bigger, since the hallway was on the right side of the train, making there be only one room per row. There were 10 seats, 5 on each side. We sat down with me, Jake, Infinity, and Abby on one side, and Gordon, Skye, Jon, and Mastermind on the other. Infinity set Gabriel on her lap.

Gosh, Gabriel reminds me of Jewel. I miss her. It's been a while since I've seen her. I hope Danny is taking good care of her. I miss Danny, too, and Link.

Mastermind's voice snapped me out of my thinking.

"So... Have any of you had any experience when it comes to politics? Besides Jake of course."

"Me and Jon sometimes have arguments." Skye winced.

"Not really." Abby shook her head.

"Nah." Gordon said as well.

I shook my head no, too.

Mastermind sighed. "So it's me and Jake. We need to go over a plan, though. What do we plan on doing and saying? What is our approach?"

"Shouldn't we know about them first?" I asked. "Get situated, know how they like things done, get to know them?"

Jake chuckled. "Kat, people have to learn to be able to automatically deal with others they don't even know. It's like a main part of business. Makes you seem more professional."

I countered back, "But we aren't professional. We're just a group of teens. We don't want get ourselves into a situation where we don't know what to do. If we actually associate with the problem, then we can know how to overcome it, and show people what we can do."

"So you just plan on winging the whole thing?"

"I was winging it when I showed myself to the council, and you saw how well that turned out. Also with the meeting room."

"But this is going to change the war in total. Any little thing can tip the balance."

"Then tell us your plan, oh wise one." I smiled innocently and rested my chin on my hand.

Jake looked around for a few seconds, then huffed in annoyance. "I don't have one yet. But I will think of one soon."

"Yeah, you do that." I said sarcastically. I nodded my head, narrowing my eyes.

"Kat." Mastermind laughed. "You may be useful in debating."

"I don't like losing an argument."

"Seriously this is why we're friends." Infinity said.

"Alright, so you guys got anything you can bring to the table?" Mastermind asked everyone else.

They all shrugged in unison.

"Perfect." Mastermind sighed.

"Hey." Abby smiled. "We got this. Think positive."

"Yeah, yeah."

We spent a few minutes just looking around in awkward silence. I luckily got the window to view out of. It was really awesome to see the landscape go by as the train zoomed along.

"I hungey." Gordon whined like a little kid.

"Should we feed it?" Skye asked.

"Yes!"

"I don't know." Jake shrugged.

Abby thought about it. "Could be hostile."

"FEED ME! Or I'll eat—" Gordon looked at Infinity, but she glared at him. "Jon."

"Jona." I corrected.

"Get him some food." Jon said in an anxious voice. His eyes were wide.

"Food..." Gordon dramatically collapsed to the floor. He stayed still, and twitched once.

Silence.

"So how's your opinions on brewery?" Jake asked out of the blue.

"Too complicated for me." Mastermind shook his head.

"I'm decent." Jon shrugged.

Gordon groaned.

Infinity gave a disgusted look. "Not really my strong suit."

"I don't know much of it." I said.

Everyone shared their thoughts, and Skye spoke, "Hey guys, I'm kinda hungry."

"We can get something to eat." I shrugged.

Gordon ripped his face from the ground. With a hungry expression, he yelled, "FOOOOOOOOD!"

"Wait Gordon do you want something to eat?" Abby asked him.

Gordon smacked his face against the ground.

"RAAARRGJJCWKEKF."

"Gordon please stop roaring like a dinosaur," Abby told him quietly. "People are staring."

"Let them look!" Gordon glared at a passing woman, who hurried by faster.

"Screw the haters." Infinity said.

We were sitting in two separate booths. Me, Infinity, Abby, and Gordon were in one. Jake, Mastermind, Jon, and Skye were in the other right next to us.

"This steak was expensive." I said.

Skye turned around. "But worth it."

Our meal was, in all, 42 nuggets. So we only had 58 left to last us 2 more days (that was the estimated time to get to Bladville).

"True. It is good." I agreed.

"Mastermind, why aren't you eating?" I heard Jake ask.

Mastermind replied, "Cyborg. No digestive track. No food."

"Dude," Gordon said after he swallowed. "I'm so sorry. I'll try to enjoy my food less."

"Nah, it's fine. Eat away."

"If you insist."

We spent more time eating and chatting about random topics and hobbies. Finally, we were done.

"I'm full." I stretched.

"Same." Someone said, and burped. Judging by the burp, I guess that it was Skye.

Just then, I heard whispers coming from further down the train. I turned around and saw two people, a man and a woman both in fancy clothing, in a corner booth whispering and looking at me.

I shouldn't have been able to hear them from so far away, but I heard the woman say, "Who let her on the train?"

The man whispered back, "I don't know. She better not cause trouble."

"Probably thinks she's so high and mighty."

"Wait, I think she's looking at us."

They both stared at me, and the woman gave me a disgusted look. I gave her the same look back, and she overdramatically gasped at me:

I turned away back to the table.

"What was that?" Abby asked.

"Just some people talking about me."

That apparently wasn't good enough for Infinity. She knelt on the seat to look over the booth divider and yelled, "Hey you two! If you have something bad to say about my friend, say it to our faces!"

"Down girl." I tried to push her down.

The man scoffed. "As if we'd want to have a conversation with you misfits."

"Say that again! I dare you!" Infinity tried to climb over the divider, but I grabbed her and shoved her in her seat.

"I'm sorry, she doesn't like snobby people." I sarcastically apologized to them.

"Honestly, I thought animals weren't allowed in the dining cart." The woman whispered, barely heard.

The man replied, "I know right? Filthy people. I don't know what Notch sees in them."

Something snapped.

I slammed my hands against the table and stood up, facing them. "You know, I didn't ask for any of this to happen to me. So I can act like an animal if you think I am one. I was just trying to have a nice conversation with my friends, but you people had to ruin it. So if you want it to get ugly," I punched my fist into my calm. "It can get ugly."

"Yeah!" I heard shuffling, and Infinity was right beside me.

"Obviously its already ugly since you're here." The woman snickered. "But you can't do a thing to us, unless you wish to be thrown off."

"Wanna bet?!" I lurched forward, making them jump. But someone strong grabbed my arms from behind and held me back.

"Come on." Jake said. "Lets get you back to the room."

The last thing that was audible was a snooty laugh before I went on autopilot.

Oh daaaaaaang crap almost went down.

Haha I love these.

I guess its officially going to be four days in between each chapter update. So that's a good interval.

I'm working on a poster for The Moone Trilogy, and its going to have a lot of characters drawn in it, so the next chapters are going to be council member pictures only.

Question: If you could spend the day with any character, other than your own, which one would it be and why?

Rock on, my little rebels.
