~ Gordon's PoV ~
"Are we there yet?" Skye whined.
"I need to fight someone." Damen called from the rear.
"I like trains." Jona muttered.
I groaned, and continued on. So this was what it was like to be the serious person. It was completely horrible. Everyone was acting like an idiot. Was this how everyone else thought when they were around me? If so, I had to apologize.
At one point, we had to climb up a slope to get to the top floor, which was very rough considering it was slippery. I was pretty sure Jona tasted my shoe more than once. I had to apologize to him about that as well.
"We're here." I then added, "Finally." I looked through the vent. It was closer to the floor, so I had to look up to scan the room. It was a smaller version of the mayor's office, maybe ten or twelve blocks wide and long. It was an exact replica, even with the same red carpet. Only his had a smaller window. That was it. I looked to the right at the door. It was closed. However that didn't mean someone could come in at any moment.
"All clear." I whispered back to the others. I took the pick from Jona and broke the iron trapdoor. I crawled out and examined the room from where I stood. "Okay. We have only a few minutes to do this. Let's split up and look for clues."
"Wrong saying." Skye coughed.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "No it isn't."
He blinked. "Oh hey, yeah it's right. Sorry. Just so used to us saying the wrong things in order to be funny."
"It's okay man. No hard feelings."
"If we only have a few minutes," Damen spoke out, "shouldn't we get to work?"
"Right you are." I pointed at him. Then, I turned to the desk. "Let's get to work."
For the next minute, we went around the office, searching for anything. I figured what we were doing was illegal, but I was sure that what Shane was doing was also illegal. So we were turning his wrong into a right. By doing another wrong. Because that makes sense.
"Guys." Skye said. "Check this out."
We all went over to where he was by the table.
"What is it?" I asked.
He pointed down. There was a chest hidden under the desk.
"Secret stash of candy." I stared at it suspiciously.
Jona bent down and opened it. "I think we found our evidence." He stood up, holding obsidian in one hand, and a flint and steel in the other.
I swallowed. "How much obsidian?" I asked it even though I knew the answer.
"Ten."
"I think we're all thinking the same thing." Skye said. "But just to be sure, how much obsidian does it take to make a nether portal?"
"Not including the four unnecessary corners? Ten." Damen answered. "He's been making one to visit his friends in the nether, and been breaking it after. This is it."
"Is it enough, though?" Jona asked.
I thought about it. People could think that he got that stuff right after Bladville became allied. No harm in visiting the ally.
Skye replied for me, "It would maybe raise some conspiracy theories, but I'm not sure it will be enough."
"Well I guess we'll have to keep search..." Damen trailed off when he looked at me. "Mate, you okay?"
I looked up from the ground. "What? Yeah, I'm just thinking."
"It looked like smoke was about to come out of your ears." Jona said.
"Thank you." I sarcastically said. Then, I walked across the room and turned around to them. "Guys, it's so obvious. Our next piece of evidence is the notebook. Shane's notebook."
"That's brilliant!" Skye exclaimed. Then, he gasped. "Did I just say that to Gordon?"
"I'm shocked as well." Jona raised his eyebrows.
I glared. "I can be smart. I just choose not to. Now the thing is, we need Shane to drop the book so we can get it. And..." I stopped, thinking of something. "No. Wait. They'd think we wrote all that stuff down. And if we take the obsidian, people will think it's our own, not Shane's."
"So what do we do?" Damen sat on the desk.
Jona went back to the chest and put everything back. Then, he stood back up. "Go back to the others and think of a plan like we usually do?"
I nodded. "Let's go."
Damen climbed in first, then Skye, then me, and finally Jona. Jona had just put the iron trapdoor on, when the door open.
I almost squealed from the pure shock of us almost getting caught. Wow, that was close. We were very lucky.
I couldn't see who was in the room, since Jona was in the way. He turned to me and mouthed, 'Shane'. I raised my eyebrows and mouthed back, 'Wow'.
I heard Shane whistling, and papers hitting wood. The squeaking of a chair. Typing on a computer.
"Cause baby tonight," He started singing softly in a very horrible way, "the creeper's tryin' to steal all your stuff again."
'Oh gods.' I mouthed with a pained face.
"Cause baby tonight, grab your pick shovel and bolt again..."
I was about to tell Skye to tell Damen to go, when the door opened again.
"Sir!" A male voice cried.
"Mm ye-ees." Shane quickly tried to regain his composure. "What is it?"
"Councilman Ivan..." The guy paused to take a breath. "He's been murdered!"

Lol I was gonna stop the PoV right here but I need it to continue in order to make the chapter goodish so here we go
~<>~
What?! The mean dude got killed? Who killed him?
"What." Shane sounded surprised in more of an angry way, instead of an emotional or upset way. "Where did you get this information?"
"Councilwoman Jane called the police to report it, and the police informed us. Apparently she came home and saw him collapsed on the floor with a sword wound in his chest."
"Is that all you know?" Shane asked, demandingly.
"Y-Yes."
"Does the mayor know?"
"Not yet. I was told to inform you first."
"I will tell him. Do you know where he might be?"
"Last anyone saw him, he was returning back to his office."
Oh no. I hope the others weren't caught.
"Leave." Shane said. Footsteps walked over to the door, and the door shut.
"We gotta get there before him." I hissed to the others. "Let's go!"

~ Kat's PoV ~
We all stared at each other. My gaze was on everyone, wondering what they'd do. The mayor swept his eyes across the room. I could tell he tried to look intimidating, but he was really nervous.
"We come in peace." Infinity raised her hand in greeting.
"Infinity." Jake scolded her.
"You're those wanted kids." He pointed at everyone.
I took a step forward. "We aren't going to hurt you."
He was about to turn and run out, when Scarlet appeared behind him and shut the door, closing him in. She stood in front of it, and twisted her scythe casually, obviously making the mayor scared.
"Put that away." I told her. "We're trying to be peaceful here."
She glared at me, but put her weapon away.
"See?" I smiled. "We're all friends here."
"Not really." The mayor shook his head. "You stole valuable equipment and broke into my house."
"I forgot this was his house." Infinity blurted out.
"Infinity!"
"What?" She exclaimed, spreading her arms out. "I mean come on, the man has a freaking office for his assistant in his own house."
"It is a mansion." Jake argued.
The mayor interfered, "Actually, she is kind of right. I just have all the extra room. I asked for a giant house that looks cool." He stopped himself. "What am I doing?! Release me immediately!"
"We came to bargain." I tried doing it that way.
"There is no bargaining!" He exclaimed. He straightened up his posture. "You are all criminals. My men will know something is up soon, and they will be here to take you all away."
"Look..." Scarlet growled.
"Mayor Fredrick." I walked closer slowly. "We had to do all of that, given the circumstances. We had no choice but to team up with the Rebels, since Herobrine would not let us go easily. As for the army base... I was just following orders. And I know that what I did was wrong. Finally, breaking into your mansion was for the purpose of helping our side in the war, yes, but I also wanted to talk to you. To negotiate. We are not the bad people."
"Why should I believe you?" He asked. "And how the nether did you get in here?"
I tried for a smile. "I could tell you if you try to be more open minded."
"I hope you know how ridiculous that sounds."
"He's got a point." Jake whispered to me.
I whispered back, "Not helping. Help me buy Gordon more time."
(By this time, Gordon and the others have just heard about the murder, and are going to regroup)
"What are you two whispering about." The mayor narrowed his eyes.
Infinity laughed. "Probably talking about how much they love each other."
He whipped his head toward her. "What?"
"One word." She said. "Kake."
I sighed.
"Kake?" He frowned. "Those two?"
She gasped, and clapped. "You know shipping!"
"Yes. I need to, so I can keep in touch with the youths. Although some terms... I just don't understand." He looked back at us. "You two, though?"
Jake and I both nodded.
He stared at us for a few seconds. "I have to admit, that's kind of cute."
"Yes!" Infinity exclaimed. "Mr. Mayor if you didn't hate us, I'd give you a high five."
He was about to respond, when realization dawned on his face. "You are stalling."
We all looked at each other. Then, I snickered. "What? No."
"I don't know what your plan is, but it isn't going to—"
"Yo your assistant is evil." Infinity blurted out.
Jake and Scarlet facepalmed.
"What?" Mayor Fredrick was confused.
"Infinity." I hissed. "We were going to wait to tell him that."
"I'm sorry!" She shouted.
"We're also trying to keep quiet." Jake told her.
"Sorry." She whispered, but it didn't look like she meant it.
"What?" The mayor repeated.
I bit my lip. "Your assistant, Shane, works for Herobrine."
"That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever—"
Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the trapdoor break.
"My friends are right there! They have proof!" I pointed up to above the bookshelves.
Damen jumped down first, and waved at us. However, Skye was pushed from up top, and fell down on top of Damen. They both fell to the floor, groaning. Gordon hopped out of the vent grinning, but he must've lost his balance, because he yelped and fell, landing on top of the other two boys. They groaned again. Finally, Jona appeared, and was careful to jump down right next to the mess of boys.
"Behold," Scarlet said sarcastically, "our amazing B team."
"Are we really the B team?" Skye made out, trying to get his leg out from under Gordon's back.
"Look at yourselves."
He stared at their situation. "True."
"Did you guys get anything?" I walked over to them, helping Gordon off of the pile.
"Oh yeah," He whispered, "we found some nether portal equipment. Also, I was thinking that we could use Shane's notebook somehow."
"That's great!" I said. "Who came up with that plan?"
He stared at me for a moment. "Me."
"Really?"
"Why is it so hard to understand that I can be smart sometimes." He threw his hands up. "Oh and by the way, Shane is coming."
"Good!" The mayor exclaimed. "Then he will prove that you all are crazy!"
"I assure you, we are not." I told him. "Well, we're crazy, but in a good way."
"True dat!" Infinity said.
Just then, someone knocked on the door behind Scarlet. She turned and was about to open it, when the mayor shouted, "Come in!"
Scarlet moved out of the way just as the door opened. Shane walked in quickly. "Sir I need to get you..." He stopped as soon as he saw all of us. His facial expression went from soft, to alarmed, to anger, and finally to the calm and collected one within a second.
"Hello Kat." He said sharply. "Nice to see you all."
"Shane." I sneered. "The jig is up. You can take off your mask."
"What mask?" He asked innocently.
"You are a spy for Herobrine." Jake said.
Shane laughed, taking a step forward. "Really? That's ridiculous. Herobrine is an ally."
"Before." I snapped. "Admit it in front of the mayor."
"Are you believing any of this?" Shane said to Mayor Fredrick.
"Not one word." The man crossed his arms.
"We have proof. Or should I say, you have proof." I walked over to him and held out my hand.
"What do you want?" He smirked.
I replied, with the same smirk, "Your notebook."
His smile faded. "That is confidential."
"Surely not confidential enough for the mayor to read, right?"
"N-no..." Shane turned to him. "You don't need to see it."
"There's no harm." The mayor shrugged. "Just give it so these people will get off of your case."
Shane was hesitant.
"Now." He demanded.
The young man glared at me, but pulled out his book. He slapped it down into Mayor Fredrick's hand.
The mayor opened it with an indifferent facial expression. However, as he read through the notes, his eyebrows furrowed. "Shane... these are all the wrong directions. Did you even write down anything I actually said?"
"So what if I'm a bad assistant?!" Shane laughed. "It doesn't mean I'm evil!" He pointed to all of us. "They're the evil ones." He stopped at Infinity. "Even you."
I looked at Infinity's pained expression.
"What do you mean 'even her'?" Scarlet asked.
He grinned. "Oh, really?"
"We're getting off track." Jake interjected. "Mayor, don't you see that all of those things are the opposite of what you really said? That the instructions were ways to run your city slowly into the ground?"
"Shane..." He closed the book. "Is this true?"
His eyes darted around the room. "I've been a loyal assistant and council member. I've helped you in more ways than you th—"
"Is. This. True." The mayor said slowly.
"Are you seriously going to take their side?" Shane played his last card. "They broke into your house, remember?!"
They both stared at each other for the longest time.
"Hey guys." Skye said from where he was at the window. "There's a lot of policemen by that one tall building."
"It's nothing!" Shane yelled. "Focus on this!"
"What's happening?" The mayor walked past all of us, without fear, and looked out the window. "What...?"
I walked over as well, and saw a bunch of lights and people at the front of a tall building, despite the late hour.
"I was just told that it was just a small robbery." Shane waved it away quickly.
"No it wasn't." Gordon spoke out. Shane gave him the death glare, but he continued bravely, "You know what happened."
"What happened?" The mayor gritted his teeth.
Shane huffed. He stared at the ground for the longest time. Finally, he grinned. "You caught me."
"We did?" I asked, disbelieving that he gave up that easily.
"You did." He nodded. "I sabotaged the city. I betrayed Bladville and tipped the balance to be in Herobrine's favor."
"Who are you?" I demanded.
"My name is Shade." His grin faded to a confident smile. "And I'm actually seventeen, not twenty four like I said. If I were seventeen, you wouldn't let me on the council. I'm Herobrine's second in command."
"Shade you idiot." A deep voice hissed.
"Who was that?" The mayor yelped. He backed against the wall.
"I know that voice." I narrowed my eyes. I swear if it was him...
All of a sudden, an Enderman appeared right next to Shade. He was taller than the usual Enderman, and more intimidating. I groaned.
"Woah!" Damen jumped back.
"You fool, you weren't supposed to give in." General Enderman snapped at Shade. "Also, I am Herobrine's second in command, you insolent child."
"Whatever." Shade waved it away. "Too late now. Why are you here anyways? You're going to get caught."
The General gestured toward all of us. "I already have been. So have you." He shook his head. "And I had to take care of some business in the neighborhood."
Shade laughed. "So you're the one that killed him?"
"Killed who?" The mayor looked back out the window. "Is that why there are policemen out there? Who was killed– AH!" That last part was said because the Enderman teleported right next to him, bending down close to his face. Mayor Fredrick quickly looked at the ground.
"You better learn your place." The General said quietly.
"Ivan." Jona said.
Everyone turned toward him. There was a collective, "What?" from most of our people.
"You killed Ivan." He repeated. "The councilman."
General Enderman sighed. "I hate when people spoil it. Yes, yes I murdered him. Had to use a stupid sword."
"You killed Ivan?" The mayor repeated, eyes wide. He backed up. "That can't be..."
"Possible?" The General finished. "Yes, it can. You see, he was getting too suspicious. Put his nonexistent nose in everyone's business. Which is exactly what you are doing. So Lord Herobrine had me eliminate him, and we are going to blame it on you Rebels. After all, who would guess his own ally would kill the poor old man?"
I didn't know what to say. Ivan was dead? Ivan, the ice cold guy who was married to Jane? I shouldn't have felt bad. However, I still was upset at the thought. I could only imagine how Jane felt...
"You can't blame it on us." Damen snorted. "We know your plan, mate. And so does the mayor."
Shade laughed. "And? This guy won't say anything." He gestured to him.
"Why wouldn't I?" The mayor asked.
"Allow me to explain the situation." General Enderman stepped away from the frightened mayor, and walked around. "The mayor now knows 'Shane' is with us. However, everyone else thinks you Rebels are the bad guys. So why would they believe you about anything? They won't. That's the thing. You're all trapped. Now here's what's going to happen." He stopped walking, and clapped his hands once. "You Rebels will leave to your little lair. I will leave to mine. None of us will talk about this."
"Why should we listen to you?" Skye said.
"Well, you can try to tell the city, but as I said before, it's very unlikely they'd believe you." He chuckled deeply. "If the mayor tries to help you, he will be killed, and this precious city will be turned into a boot camp. All your friends will die or be turned into slaves. So I suggest keeping this to yourself. Sound fair?"
I glared at him. We were so close to getting an advantage. I wanted to tell him off, to take a sword and plunge it into his chest.
"Why are you letting us go?" Jake asked curiously, protectively putting a hand on my shoulder.
The Enderman's face got serious. "My Lord does not know about this. Leave now. The game isn't over yet."
I stared at him. "What are you talking about?"
"This game. Toying with all of you." Shade smirked. "It's fun. We aren't really trying to kill anyone, but we will in order to make it entertaining."
"At least, that's what his interpretation is." The General interrupted.
"But we aren't going to kill everyone at once, unlike what you tried to do with the train." He turned to General Enderman.
"I told you I knew they were going to make it through." He sighed. "I just didn't expect them to save everyone else. If you have a concern with it, speak to Herobrine. It was his idea."
"Maybe I will. He does like me better."
"Listen-"
"We should go." Scarlet walked away from the door. "While we can."
"Mr. Mayor," I walked over to the mayor, "don't worry. You're going to be okay. We're figuring out a plan."
He was about to speak, then hesitated. Finally, he said, "Okay. But don't try to protect me. Protect Bladville."
"Strong words for a puppet." Shade stretched his arms.
"I will punch you in the face." I warned, getting closer to him.
General Enderman stood in front of the jerk. "Run along, children. The grownups, and Shade, have to talk."
I glared at him.
"We need to go." Jake insisted. "It's strange that there aren't any guards. They should be here soon."
"I dislike you." I stared into the Enderman's eyes. They were purple like mine, but lighter. All of a sudden, they triggered a memory. My breath hitched as I recalled something... a rush of memories from my first few days in the world. From when Charlie and I discovered that the priest of the town was possessed. His eyes were just the same color. Why had that come up? What connection did the two have? Unless...
The General smiled as if he knew what I was thinking. "No, I wasn't the one who did that. Why don't you go ask someone else about that kind of art?"
He did know. I was thinking that he somehow managed to possess the priest. However, he said he didn't. Someone else did... and what did he mean art?
A hand appeared on my shoulder. I turned around and Jake was there. In the background, Damen was giving everyone a boost up into the vents. From the looks of it, there was only Jake, Scarlet and I in the room. Scarlet refused Damen's help, and climbed up herself.
"Let's go." Jake said. He started pulling me gently toward the bookshelves. I reluctantly agreed.
When we were at the top, I looked down at everyone. Shade was smirking as usual, General Enderman was staring at me with an indifferent face, and Mayor Fredrick looked like he was terrified, but was trying not to let it show. He nodded me on.
I accepted Jake's boost, and climbed into the vents.

LONGER AUTHOR'S NOTE
So funny story:
I wrote like 1400 words in one timespan yesterday on the computer, and saved it and logged off to continue writing on my phone.
But when I went on my phone, none of it was saved. So I went back on the computer and still found nothing except the 200 words I had done before. I went to bed really upset.
However, right before I fell asleep, I remembered that on the computer, you can look at all the revisions you made and restore your story to one of them. So in the morning, I immediately went on the computer, and restored a "previous version of this story part" :D So I almost didn't update today.

Question: If you had the choice of adding a sport (ex- baseball, basketball, ping pong, etc) in Minecraft as a game you could play without a mod, what would it be?
Rock on, my little rebels.
PS: I'm really getting pumped because these next few parts are going to be the highlight of this book that I have been waiting for since the beginning.
PPS: I just shiggled. It's been a while
