Chapter 33 ~ Laws Of Physics

I UPDATED 10 MINUTES LATE

but I didn't proofread very well, so there will be mitsakes as usual.

K bye

~<>~

I had a plan. It was a good plan. But I needed to do a lot of preparation if it was going to work.

Marcus was supposed to arrive soon, to give us information about what was happening on the surface. I needed to talk to him and make him help me with something. So while I was waiting, I decided to do some sneaking around.

"Infinity." I whispered to her as she walked into the main room. She waved and walked over to me, sitting down.

"Hiyo. What's up?" Infinity asked.

"You know how Yuri assigned people to secretly babysit J? Well it's my turn, but I need to do something. Can you take my shift?"

"If you let me know what's happening, then maybe." She crossed her arms.

I opened my mouth, then closed it. Finally, I said, "I can't say now, but you'll know soon, I promise."

"Ight. Go on." She waved me away.

I frowned. "That's it? That's all I had to say?"

She shrugged, smiling. "I trust you."

I smiled back, and got up. "Thank you so much."

A few minutes later, I found Jazz in the hallway of the rooms. He was just closing his door when I stood in front of him.

"Hello Jazz." I said slowly.

"Oh my Notch you scared the Nether out of me!" He put a hand on his heart.

I rolled my eyes, but continued. "I need a favor from you."

"What's in it for me?" He asked skeptically.

I pulled out a cookie. I had stole it from the cafeteria in case I needed it for situations like this: bribery. "This."

His eyes glazed over the chocolate chip cookie as I waved it in front of him. He grabbed for it, but I yanked it out of his reach.

"Ah ah ah." I tutted.

"I want the cookie!" He whined. "What do I gotta do?"

"I want you to distract Yuri for 10 minutes. He's down in his lab. I need him away from that hallway." He nodded, and I gave him the cookie. He kissed it and put it in his pocket. When he saluted me, I saluted him back, and he ran down the hall.

I walked back into the main room. Everything was just as before, no one left or came in.

About a minute later, I heard a shout coming from the training room. Then, Rein and Ash came running down the hall.

"Where's Yuri?" Ash breathed out to no one in particular.

"In his lab." I raised an eyebrow. "Why? What happened?"

"Jazz spilled a few long lasting splash potions of freaking slowness and blindness. Now everyone is slowly running around like headless chickens." Rein informed.

Oh Jazz. You clever little boy.

"Let's go tell him." Ash said to Rein.

"I got it." I said. "You two go back and make sure no one dies."

They nodded, and ran back down the tunnel.

"Need help?" Infinity asked me.

I shook my head. "No thanks. I got it."

She narrowed her eyes, but went back to whatever she was doing before.

I sprinted down the hallway to Yuri's lab, smiling to myself. When I finally got to the door, I opened it up, acting all surprised and worried.

"Yuri!" I called out.

"What?" He yelled back.

I ran to the balcony and looked down. He was tinkering with another gadget at one of his tables. However, it wasn't visible from my point of view.

"What's wrong?" He asked again.

"Jazz spilled some potions in the training room. Slowness, blindness. Long lasting." I said that all in one breath.

He groaned. "That boy is so clumsy. Very well." He walked up the stairs. "I'll go get some milk from the cafeteria. Helps clear potion effects, you know."

"I did not." I faked surprise, even though I did know.

When he left the room, I slowly shut the door, and ran down to his lab. I climbed up one of the ladders on the side of the wall, up to the chests. I opened one, but only found potion supplies. The other one had redstone. I climbed down and went over to another ladder. When I opened a chest, I saw a bunch of documents. I grinned to myself and sat down, pulling them out one by one and skimming through them.

Meanwhile in the training room, everyone was clueless to where they were. Someone ran into a hay dummy. Two people were slowly running toward each other. Rein, and Ash were also slowed and blinded, due to Jazz's grip "slipping".

"Jazz you idiot." Yuri hissed as he quickly walked into the room. The young boy was near the entrance holding a potion in each hand.

"Give those to me." Yuri went over to him.

"Here." Jazz held his arms out, but his the potions "slipped" out of his hands again, and they fell, splashing them both.

"Stupid... boy!" Yuri accidentally dropped the milk buckets he was carrying. He slowly bent over to look for them on the ground.

No one could see, but Jazz was trying his hardest not to laugh.

A few minutes later...

"Finally!" I exclaimed. I rolled up the paper I was holding, and put it in my inventory. Then, I shoved all the documents on the floor into the chest, and shut it. I climbed down, and ran up to the balcony. I ran down the hallway, and into the rooms. I looked around. No one was there. I ran into my room and shut the door.

I flicked the light on, and unrolled the document again. Then, I grabbed the quill from the book and quill on the desk. I sat down on the ground, put the paper down, and got to work.

The rest of my plan preparation was falling into place.

About 10 minutes later, I explained to Marcus my plan once he got to the base and we were alone. He agreed for another cookie. Good thing I brought extras.

Then, I went to Yuri.

"Yo Yuri." I went to him in the training room. He was near the chests, reorganizing the potions.

"Please don't tell me Jazz did something else." He sighed.

"No. He didn't yet. I wanted to ask you. I'm really curious about Notch's gift of making items. Does he just automatically make a recipe and boom! Item? Does he create the item's look as well? And can he just come up with anything?"

"Yes, yes, and no. He actually creates the item before he makes up a crafting recipe. But he needs to be able to have it apply to the laws of physics of Minecraft."

"I didn't know Minecraft had laws of physics." I snorted.

"They're there." Yuri frowned. "No wait. I mean they are there, not there there..."

"I got you." I stopped him before he started babbling. "But some items don't have a crafting recipe. Like the elytra."

"Yes, but they are still found in the world, either in a dungeon or from a mob. In the elytra's case, it is found in an End City in the End. They're very hard to find. But ever since they've been released to the public, Elytra hunters have been spotted everywhere."

"Doesn't seem too hard to find a few cities in the end." I said.

He shook his head. "You don't understand. They're all on separate islands. Unless you have an elytra already, and you build up high and jump off and risk dying in the void, you're going to have to spend hours building a bridge to who-knows-where."

"Seems hard to find a few cities in the end." I changed my wording from before. Then, I carefully chose my next words. "It would be cool to get one, though."

"Yes, it would benefit us greatly."

I pushed. "It would. We should see if we can order a few."

He thought about it. "Well, Marcus and Damen know a lot of people. Hmm... I'll have to talk to them about it."

"That would be great." I smiled and started to walk away.

"That's it? You don't have any more questions?" He asked.

Without turning around, I shook my head. "No thanks. I have all the information I need."

Two days later...

In a hall, I met up with Marcus.

"You got the stuff?" I asked.

"Oh yeah. I got the stuff." Marcus started pulling something out of his strange new attire— a trench coat.

My eyes widened. "Woah! Not that stuff!"

"What? This isn't a meeting for dr—"

"No." I didn't let him finish what he was going to say. "No. Not at all. I mean do you have the information."

"Really?" He looked upset. "I bought this trench coat for nothing." He took off the brown coat. "Alright then. I have the best times, best ways to get in— if you want to go stealthy or full blown—, and more on these." He pulled out a few papers.

Once I had checked that they weren't illegal (actually they probably were, but not in that way), I nodded to Marcus. "Thank you."

"You sure this is a good idea? I mean the Mayor's mansion is very well prot—"

"Yes I'm sure." I looked around to make sure no one heard us. However, we were the only ones in the hall.

"Okay." He shrugged. "Damen is coming, right?"

I hesitated. "I'm not sure. It's up to him."

"He'd love to help. You know, he really likes you."

"Thank you Marcus." I walked away in order to avoid the conversation.

"Wait! I need my payment!"

I turned around and tossed the cookie to him. He hungrily grabbed it and tore a bite into it. "Hank oo."

I went to my room and shut the door. I looked at the only painting on the wall. It was a 4 block piece of art of a wither. I unhooked the painting and looked at all the papers and ideas I had hid behind it. They all connected together to form one crazy plan.

I was about to take them all down, when I heard a knock.

"Kat?"

Crap. It was Jake. I quickly pocketed the papers in my hand and hung up the painting. "Come in!"

The door opened. I turned and smiled at Jake, who walked into my room.

"Hey kitten. I haven't seen you much for the past few days." He hugged me.

I stifled a laugh in his embrace. "Kitten?"

He pulled away with a partially embarrassed look. "Yeah. You know, since your name is Kat. And cat is an animal. And kittens are cute. And you're cute. Do you like it?"

"I love it." My face reddened a little at the compliment, but I still kept the smile. "And yeah, sorry about not seeing you much. I've been pretty busy."

"With?" Jake asked.

I bit my lip. Should I tell him? I mean I was going to tell everyone later. But Jake was my boyfriend, so I guess he should get special privileges.

So I spilled everything. I showed him the documents behind the painting, I explained everything to him, every last detail I came up with myself. He responded better than I thought. He asked questions, added a few ideas, and nodded along most of the time. No weird looks, no doubts, nothing negative.

Finally, I finished.

"So what did you think?" I asked.

He looked at everything. Then, he said slowly, "Now THIS is a plan."

We were all in the meeting room 20 minutes later. Jake had helped me bring everyone together, so everyone before was there again.

I stood up. "I have gathered you all here today to—"

Gordon started fake sobbing. "I love a good Kake wedding!"

I shook my head. "No Gordon. Not that kind of speech opening."

"I love a good funeral!" He covered his face with his hands.

I sighed. "Moving on. Anyways, you all know my idea of breaking into the mayor's mansion?"

Skye chuckled. "Zero to a hundred real quick."

"Yes." Scarlet turned to me. "And as I recall, we rejected it."

I ignored her, and dropped my small stack of papers down on the table. "How about now." I spread them across the table.

"What is this?" Yuri stood up to inspect the papers. He grabbed a few, skimmed the pages, and his eyes narrowed. "Where did you get these?"

"A few I made. The rest I had an anonymous person get for me. Oh, and I stole one from your lab."

"I knew i—"

"Marcus did it, didn't he?" Damen smirked. I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Are those times?" Abby asked, looking at a specific paper.

I nodded. "The least amount of security will be at 11:15 tomorrow night. 3 security officers are leaving their shift, and their replacements wouldn't be at the mansion until 11:30. Also, 4 guards will be on break for 10 minutes in the break room, which is—" I stopped and looked at everyone. "Sorry. Should I stop?"

"Keep going." Jona ushered me on.

"You spent a while thinking on this." Ash said. "Go on."

I looked at Yuri, but he was too busy looking at everything. Then, I continued. "Should I go in order from start to finish what we'll do?"

"Yes please. Some of us would get confused otherwise." Infinity glanced at Gordon and Jazz.

"Alrighty. First off all..." I grabbed the paper that Yuri was holding. He threw his hands up in the air like 'why do I even bother'. "This is the order sheet for the elytras. In case anyone forgot, the elytras are the flying devices that you put on your back, and glide through the air. Notch not just released them. And we ordered eight."

Yuri made a choking noise. "Eight? Kat, those things are really expensive. Not to mention rare. Did I not tell you that a few days ago?"

"Yes." I blinked. "But don't worry. They're being paid for. I'm giving away all the diamonds I have, and Marcus said he had a friend that shipped crates. He could get a better deal. And we'd have them tomorrow."

Yuri groaned and covered his face. I grinned. "So anyways, most people would either go chaotic and explode a side of the building— cough Gordon cough—, or sneak in through an entrance. However, we're coming in from the sky."

"Woah." Infinity's eyes widened. "Like James Bond crap?"

"With our own twist." I agreed. "There's a fire escape on the building next to it, but it's pretty far away.  However, the top of the building is tall, so we should be able to make it to the top of the mansion. Meanwhile, to make sure we don't get caught, we'd need a small team to distract the front guards."

"I'm not good at PvP, so I volunteer for the team." Abby raised her hand.

"Same." Elly chipped in. "I mean I'm good at fighting, but I like annoying and distracting people, too."

"I can help." Rein said.

"Good. We'd need you to distract them for a few while we dive in. And we'd also need a team to distract them as we come out too. We wouldn't be able to fly back to the top of the building, but we could get a good distance once we leave. It shouldn't be Abby, Rein, or Elly again though. I don't want to risk them getting in too much trouble."

"I'll make a sacrifice for the greater good." Jazz put his hand on his heart. He also put his other hand on Ash's heart. "And so will Ash." Ash blinked, but shrugged as a 'yes'.

"I guess I can go too, to even it out a bit." Mastermind volunteered.

"So who's going to be on the flying team?" Scarlet asked.

"Well, me—" I started.

Jake coughed. "Shoulder."

I fake coughed back. "Healing. I could actually take the bandages off probably. Any way, I'm going."

"Then I'll be on the team too." He stubbornly said.

"Same here." Infinity said.

Gordon fist pumped. "I wanna fly!"

"Jona and I are in." Skye pitched in. Jona nodded sharply.

"I'll be there too," Damen cracked his knuckles, "to help you mates out."

I looked at Scarlet. She was the only one left.

"We have one more elytra." I said.

She looked at me, then at Jake, then at Infinity. Finally she said, "It's been a while since I was allowed to beat up someone."

I clapped my hands once and pointed at her. "That's a yes. Yes." Then, I turned to Yuri. "So is this good so far? Will you allow it before I continue on?"

Yuri frowned, and looked at a piece of paper. "Well if..." He then picked up another one. After skimming it through for a few seconds, he looked up. "...This can work."

I UPDATED 10 MINUTES LATE. But a reason why I'm not updating a lot on time is because (I'm bad) I am also watching a Netflix series that is going to be taken down on Nov. 1st, so I need to finish it before then. So once I finish it this weekend, I'll have a lot of more time to write and draw.

Okay so NEXT chapter is going to be long and actiony. And tbh I don't know what I'm doing so 👍

Question: if you had to swap the genders of two characters, who would they be and why?

Rock on, my little rebels.
