Chapter 3 ~ The Danger Scale Goes Up To 11 1/2

Here's Jake:

I'm sorry it looks so bad 😭 I had to rush the coloring at the last second.

Anywho, here's the chappy

~<>~

Despite the screech, I still opened the door slowly.

"Kat." Jake told me when I was a quarter through. "Stop."

"Little more." I pleaded with the door.

Finally, it was open far enough for me to go through.

I peeked my head in. The room was a long rectangular room made of dark blue clay and coal blocks. The walls were covered in holographic maps and information, including codes. Prints of newspapers were also strung up. Bookshelves, filing cabinets, and tables hugged the bottom half of the wall in a messy way. The back wall was a whiteboard with a bunch of math and ideas on it. A table covered most of the center of the room, with a map in the center.

Oh, and the main council and Notch were sitting down with Notch in the back seat. And they were all looking at me.

No one said anything, so I crept slowly against the wall as if they couldn't see me.

"Infinity no!" I barely heard Jake whisper.

Infinity came in with me and crept against the wall as well, with Gordon behind her.

We all sat down, and stared at the council members. I rolled my hand for them to continue.

"So anyways." Preston said, going along with it.

"Dude." Vikk rolled his eyes.

"Katherine." Notch said seriously.

Crap. He sounded serious; that wasn't good. You should never make a god mad. So I just stayed there.

He sighed. "Why are you here."

I kept a blank expression, but spoke. "I'm not here."

"Yes. Yes you are." He closed his eyes.

"We are just talking bookshelves." Infinity whispered loudly.

"We're kinda in the middle of a meeting." Adam said.

"I know." I said quietly.

"Katherine." Notch said more urgently. "This is a matter of upmost importance, and we don't have time for nonsense."

Everyone stared at me. Then, I felt mad.

"Okay." I stood up. "Okay. That's it. I came here because I want to be included." I slammed my fist on my palm. "I want answers. I have been here for a while and I haven't had any of my questions answered. I need to know who I am! And you—" I pointed to Notch. "— have them." I ran my hand through my hair. "Look, I don't have to have everything answered now, since this is 'a matter of upmost importance', so let me help then. I need to do something."

Dead silence.

"Dang girl." Ty whispered quietly.

Notch stared at me for the longest time. Then, he nodded. "Very well. You may include yourself."

"What?" Ian asked.

"And anyone else that wishes to join."

"Hold on." Adam said. "With all due respect, is this wise?"

"Heck ya it's wise!" I grabbed the back of Jordan's chair with one hand and waved at my friends with the other. "Come on in guys!"

Everyone else filed in, spreading around the room.

"Are we gonna regret this?" Jerome whisper yelled to Mitch.

"I don't know biggums." Mitch whispered back.

"Hey!" Skye said. "We can be very serious when we want to!"

"Well, Infinity and Gordon can't." Jake added.

Infinity and Gordon both shrugged, as if knowing it was true.

"So," I said, getting right into it. "What're we talkin about?"

"Plans." Lachlan said. "For the war."

Rob added on. "Attacking, our defenses, numbers, comparing, and other stuff."

"They have larger numbers, but their skills are weaker." Adam stated. "If there was a fight between one of us, and ten mobs, we'd most likely win."

"So quality verses quantity." I said.

Mitch nodded. "Which could be used to our advantage. Definitely good with offense."

Ty frowned. "Shouldn't it be the other way around? Defensive strategies would be better. H.B. would mostly send large groups of armies."

"But we can send people to him, and totally shrek a portion of his army." Jerome countered.

"Right, but do we really want to risk that?" Rob asked.

Jordan joined in. "It's not like we'd attack him at his core."

"That's suicide." Ian nodded.

"Which would make it the perfect attack." I joined as well, trying to sound smart. "He wouldn't see it coming."

"Yes," Notch said, with a voice that stood out from the rest. "But my brother is never surprised. Except when I awoke Katherine."

"Can you please call me Kat." I whispered.

He nodded.

"So on a danger scale, how dangerous was waking her up?" Jake asked.

Notch thought about it for a second. "About an eleven. And a half."

"Daaang." Infinity's eyes widened. "That's almost as dangerous as waking me up."

I ignored her. "So we can't do anything like that anymore?"

Notch shook his head. "We have to play safe now. As we were saying before, I would like to push his army back. Now that this city had my protection, we can use less defense from the army, letting them move somewhere else." He leaned forward. "Anyone have any ideas they wish to share?"

"Spread them across the smaller bases?" Ty asked.

"That can't work." Notch shook his head again. "Too many bases. And we can't separate the army too much."

Adam cleared his throat. "We were planning on setting up a new main base, but we had a few problems. For one, before we couldn't send most of our army anywhere. But that problem is solved since Notch is back. Another one is that it would consist of all military people. We really don't have civilians that would want to go, because it would be so near to his territory."

"So that plan has been casted out." Vikk sighed.

After a few seconds of silence, Notch smiled. "No it isn't."

"What?" Rob asked.

"He has that look." Jon whispered.

"The look of a crazy idea." Mastermind nodded, backing away slowly.

"Is everyone aware of Bladville?" Notch asked.

Preston snickered. "You mean bladeville?"

The entire main councils agreed, yes they know it.

"Isn't it the fourth largest city?" Abby asked. "With the largest army but a crappy government that everyone thinks is corrupted?"

Everyone looked at her.

She backed away sheepishly. "I'm a nerd."

"Nothing to be ashamed of, sister." Infinity said.

"Yes, more or less." Notch concurred. "However, what everyone doesn't know is that the system is actually corrupted."

"I knew it!" Jerome shouted.

"How do you know?" Adam asked.

Notch chuckled. "I know most things. During my time in the other dimension, I am able to look upon this land, just no other dimension. I have gathered some interesting intel, and juicy gossip."

"Did you find out if Michael is dating that one girl?" Rob asked, excitedly.

"They are." Notch confirmed. "Back to reality, the new mayor is being idiotic enough to be controlled by one of the members of his council. Now before anyone can say anything, I do not know who, for the person remains anonymous. Anyways, he is being persuaded to join my brothers side."

Mitch coughed. "He's making allies other than mobs?"

Notch nodded gravely. "He's trying to have a variety of allies. So, he decided to be nice—" he shuddered. "— and gave the city an offer instead of the usual threat."

"But it's not like they'll automatically refuse." Jordan noted. "His army is still threatening."

Notch gave a grave smile. "Exactly. Which is why we have to convince them."

"How do we do that?" Lachlan asked.

"I plan on sending a small group of people down there to convince them, check out the place, and see who is controlling the mayor."

Adam frowned. "Who? Any of us?"

In that moment, Notch turned to the person who would go. Me. He turned to me, and everyone else did as well.

"Seriously?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Well, seeing too.

He nodded. "You and your friends can go."

"I see multiple things wrong in that."

"Like?"

"Well, wouldn't I be seen?"

"Yes. They would see that you have returned, and since you are with us, they would understand that we are powerful and do have a chance. They won't be as afraid."

"Fair enough. I think. But we aren't very official, so wouldn't it be bad to send us on an important meeting that could sway the advantages of the war?"

"I'm sure you all can manage. I'm aware that Jake is a good negotiator, and I know that you can be official when you want."

I laughed sarcastically. "I doubt that, but okay. But I really wanna stay here. I still need to ask you so much."

"It's not like you aren't coming back." Mitch said.

"You are coming back." Jerome assured.

"Gotta think positive." Mastermind tapped his head.

I looked around for another excuse. My friends seemed excited to go, nodding at me and grinning. Ugh, I don't want to let them down.

I finally sighed in frustration. "Fine."

And so the quest will begin!

This was the last chapter I had pre written, so now I must work *sigh*

Question: Which console or device would you/do you play Minecraft on? If you don't play it, then what would you want to play it on?

Rock on, my little rebels.
