Chapter 28 ~ Pat And Bob
Ahhh long chapter ahhh
K bye.
~<>~
It had been a week since we found the rebels.
Okay okay calm down I know that's a large time skip. But I'm going to explain the juicy details, so hush okay?
In that time period, we trained a lot more (I went to bed every day exhausted), learned more about the people there (apparently, Elly and Rein are sisters. I had a hunch since they both look alike), and had some drama:
Abby and Gordon got into some kind of argument. I didn't know what it was about, but they weren't really talking to each other anymore.
Skye kept flirting with Scarlet, but Jona always got in the middle of them, either stopping Skye directly or changing the subject. And with the strange looks that Jona and Scarlet give each other, I suspected that they knew each other. But it's a long shot guess.
And as for me and Jake? Nothing really to say about it. We just kinda chilled. But as for me and Damen? Well, I think he liked me. He always complimented me, and winked at me, and it obviously makes Jake mad. But I just kind of rolled with it. I don't like Damen or anything, so it's not like I'd go out with him, or flirt back. So Jake didn't need to be jealous or protective... right?
I didn't have any nightmares from Herobrine. Either he didn't know where I was, or he decided to leave me alone. But I also didn't get any dreams from Notch. I tried to contact him, but it wouldn't go through. I didn't know if he was just trying to avoid me or something, but I just kind of gave up after the fifth day.
Marcus came every few days to get us the newspaper. From there we found that the council decided to make their decision public. It was the cover of the first paper, with two whole pages explaining it. The other newspaper that he brought was about us. We were officially wanted. Our faces were plastered on the pages, listing what they know about us, and where we were last seen. They didn't know anything about the rebels.
Nothing about their "plan" really progressed, besides us being better fighters. Abby could actually swing a sword, and Jona refused to exchange his pick for a real weapon. We didn't go on missions, or even went to the surface. We just stayed down there. It got boring at times, not being able to put our skills to the test.
Until one night.
(Ew that sounds dramatic)
I hesitated for a second, then opened the lab door.
"Yuri? Ash told me you wanted to see me." I called.
"Yes, come in!" Yuri's voice yelled back.
I shut the door and walked to the little balcony. The sheep was chilling there, looking at the view. I pet him, and looked around for Yuri. He was at a table, with some sort of map in front of him.
"Are you busy tonight? I am going to need you for something."
I would have liked to sleep, since it was 10 pm (they have a clock down there). However, Ash stopped me by my room and told me that Yuri needed me. So there I was.
"Not really." I shook my head, walking down the stairs.
He frowned. "Really? I thought you'd be hanging out with your friends, or your boyfriend, or some social thing."
"He's not my boyfriend." Yes, the story of Kake had spread throughout the base. "And no, I have no life."
"Oh." He shrugged. "Well, come here, I need to show you something."
As I got closer, I saw that it was indeed a map. Little things that looked like tents were dotting up the whole paper, with some large squares added.
"This is a map of the Bladville army base. Lot of tents, lot of people, lot of supplies."
"Looks like it." I said. "So what?"
"This is the wall." He continued, running his hand along the black line at the bottom. "30 blocks high almost 500 blocks long, a guard every 20 blocks. Can't go under, they have obsidian. Can't go around, the wall leads right to the cliffs. Can't go through, it would take too long and the guards would notice." He chuckled. "And there's no way to get over."
"What are you—"
"But it does open every four hours, to let in supplies and people. It's very busy at the front, so someone could sneak in if they got lucky."
"What are you saying?" I said quickly, so he didn't interrupt me again.
He smiled. "I need you to sneak into their army base. Alone."
My stomach dropped a little bit. Seriously? After a week of training, I was going on a mission that could be suicidal?
"I know what you're thinking. And don't worry. We are able to hack into their security cameras, and it's going to be dark. Less guards, less problems. Now the place I need you to go to is near the back, a large supply house. Our armor supplies is starting to lower, and we have no diamond armor. They have sets of it. So I'll need you to—"
"You expect me to lug a crap ton of heavy armor?" I laughed.
"Did you know you can fill your inventory with armor, and it wouldn't weigh any more than it already does?"
"...No."
"Well you can." He traced a line. "You can either take the long way around, along the coast, which is longer but safer. Or you can go through the middle, where there will be more guards. It's shorter, but you have a high change of being caught."
"I'll go the long route." I confirmed.
"Excellent. Now..."
As he explained to me what I should do, another part of my mind was thinking about the situation. I was finally leaving the base. All by myself. This was my mission. I was going to pass or fail on my own. And heck, maybe I could see if I had more powers. I was part god, after all.
"So, did you get everything?" He asked me.
I nodded. "I'm ready."
"Good. Because you're leaving in an hour."

I slowly but swiftly walked along the road. There was no one out this late, but I still pulled the hood closer. Ash was much bigger than me, so his hoodie was a little loose. But Yuri wanted me to be covered up so they didn't recognize me, so I sneaked into Ash's room and borrowed it. Without his permission, of course.
The crisp breeze fluttered against me. The stars were out, but not as bright as I've seen them before. It was a crescent moon.
Yuri explained the plan to me multiple times, to make sure I got it right. However, I still had butterflies in my stomach, and thought of everything that could go wrong. Worst cases possible would be a meteor striking the ground, Herobrine, or needing to kill someone. But the first was highly unlikely, the second one could possibly happen, and I didn't want to do the third.
The wall was slowly coming closer to its full height. The door wasn't open; it opened in a few minutes.
I ducked into an alleyway to a building close by, and leaned against the wall. Despite my fear, I was actually excited. I was all alone. I could do whatever I wanted. I could kill a man if I wanted to. Which I didn't want to. But I could've.
I shifted the extra inventory bag Yuri gave me. It was a satchel. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement further down the alley. I drew my diamond sword, but didn't set it on fire. I crept closer.
"Who's there." I whispered.
A meow answered back. A black cat came out of the shadows, running into the street.
I sighed, and put my sword away. The cat reminded me of Jewel. I missed her so much. I wonder what she was doing at that moment. Probably sleeping in a little ball, hopefully right next to Danny. He was ecstatic when I let him watch her, eager to help in any way.
A few minutes later, I heard movements. Footsteps, and a slight screeching. I snuck a peek behind the corner and saw that it was time. People were moving minecarts chests through the piston-activated wall. The minecarts weren't on any rails, and they somehow didn't make a lot of noise. The people that moved them all wore dark hoodies, and looked down solemnly. The whole thing looks creepy to be honest.
I ran across the street into the alley opposite me to get a better look of the line. The alley was in a L shape, so I rounded the corner and got a good view. There were 10 people in a row, about 6 or 7 blocks from each other. My face fell when I realized my idea wouldn't work. However, I saw that the last person was straggling behind, so my lightbulb turned on again.
But I couldn't go in the street. They'd see me. I growled and looked around for an idea. Somehow, my eyes found the top of the building I was by. It was a two story, 10 blocks high.
I grinned, and got out the ladders Yuri gave me. He said, "better safe than sorry" as he handed them to me.
I placed one in the corner, then one above it. I started climbing up, placing the ladders as I climbed.
When I made it to the top, I peeked over the edge. The line was moving fast. I needed more time. I grabbed an apple out of my inventory, and aimed. If this went wrong, I was doomed.
I hesitated, and chucked it. It sailed through the air and landed on the back of the head of the fourth person in line.
"OW!" He turned around to the guy behind them. "What the heck was that for, Bob?!"
The guy, Bob, crossed his arms. "That wasn't me!"
"It obviously was you. Honestly, I know you're mad that me because Gary likes me better, but this is low."
"Pat, I promise you, it wasn't me. It came from over there!" He pointed toward me, and I ducked down.
"We both know that's not true."
All the other people in the line groaned. As Pat and Bob argued, I jumped onto the next rooftop, and ran across. Then I jumped across the next one, and the next one until I was at the back of the line. I jumped down into the alley.
"Come on guys!" The last person groaned. It was a girl. Thank Notch.
I tip toed across the street to behind her. Then, I took out my sword. She turned to the left, so I quickly jumped to the right. She shrugged and turned forward. I raised my sword and smacked the back of her head with my sword hilt. She fell forward, but I quickly grabbed her before she could make any noise. There was a small thud when I hit her, but no one noticed. They were too busy watching Pat and Bob fight about Gary, who is Bob's apparent cat.
I quickly dragged the girl's unconscious body into the alleyway. I dumped her on the ground, and something fell out of her pocket. ID. Her name was Katie. I put it in Ash's hoodie pocket and ran back into the line just in time to see Pat and Bob make up.
The line started to move again. I pushed the minecart. I expected it to be heavier, but it was light. No one suspected me.
As we neared the gate, I saw what we had to do. We just simply showed our ID paper to the security guards.
After about a minute or so, it was my turn. I kept my head down low, and gave them my paper. The one looked at it for a few seconds, and gave it back.
"Move along. Section 3 storage facility." He said.
I cursed internally. The storage place I needed to go to was in section 7.
Nevertheless, I continued on.

I was gonna stop but like I feel really bad as usual. You guys just don't know what I have planned so it seems boring. So here's an extra long chapter for you fine rebels.

Thank goodness there were signs at the front. I was worried I needed to ask for directions and blow my cover.
The whole thing was a giant army camp. Tents were set up everywhere as far as I could see. Most of them were closed, but some were open, and I could see men in their bunks just talking. They all had dark green uniforms. There were also random buildings that were used for all different reasons. There was a long pathway in front that led to a square, and I could see the top of a giant building. Yuri told me before that that was the cafeteria.
Section 3 was all the way on the left near the front. The guy in front of me was pushing his chest over there.
As I followed him, I wondered what were in the chests. Swords? Bows? Armor? Food?
A guy walked by, and I dipped my head down.
A few minutes later, we reached the section 3 storage facility. It was a large stone building with an open door. We pushed our carts near the entrance, but didn't go inside. However, I saw that there were stacks of chests inside.
"So Katie." The guy said. "What's up?"
I froze. I didn't expect a conversation. I didn't know Katie's relationship with this guy, so I said nothing.
"Still upset with me?" He chuckled. "Listen, I'm sorry I didn't go to your birthday last Saturday. I was caught up with work."
My— I mean, Katie's birthday was last week? Wait, I didn't know anyone's birthday in our group. I needed to figure that out soon so I could bother them.
"I waited for you but you didn't show up." I muttered.
"I promise I'll make it up to you. Say, you sound a little different."
"Sick."
"You're never sick..." He ducked down to get a good look of my face. His eyes widened. "You're not Ka—"
I silenced him by punching him in the face. Okay I know that's drastic, but that was the first thing that came to mind.
He flew back against the wall, and crumbled to the ground.
I gasped. I didn't mean to hit him that hard.
When I got closer, I saw he was breathing, so that was good. Like the other person, I dragged his unconscious body out of sight. Which meant the supply building.
After I hid him in the corner, I looked around. This place was close to the edge of the base. And Yuri was right. There were no walls. Just a one block tall iron bar fence. Other than that, nothing could stop these people from falling to their deaths.
I jogged to the last building– a closed tent. I looked around the corner and saw no guards.
After a little bit of running and hiding occasionally, I made it into sector 7. It was just like the other sectors, but I memorized the map well enough to know the difference. Plus it had a bigger storage place.
However, the place was crawling with people. I was sure that Katie wasn't supposed to be there, so I couldn't get caught.
Just like before, I grabbed an apple. Instead of hitting someone, I chucked it as far as I could down the tent line. It landed near some cauldrons. Everyone turned their attention toward it.
I sprinted up the lane. No one was between me and the place, so that was good.
As soon as I made it to the 15 by 10 stone building, I shut the iron door with the lever. I also blocked it up with some dirt.
I looked around. No one was inside. It was just me and about 30 or so chests.
For the first time in that night, I thought about what I was doing. I was stealing. From an innocent city. Was this right? Didn't we want these people to like us? Why would we steal the stuff that they need to help defend themselves? I mean, I guess they'd use the equipment against us, but that was only if fighting broke out. And I didn't want that. Then again, there weren't a lot of other options.
I shook the doubting thoughts out of my head. I had a mission to do.
There were no labels, so I just opened a random chest. Stacks of steak and bread. Okay, we could use that. I grabbed a couple stacks and moved on.
I reached the chests full of armor. Yuri said that we needed mostly diamond armor, so to grab most of that.
In all, I got a whole inventory full of diamond armor (9 sets), and filled the other inventory with 4 more sets, 3 stacks of food, 5 stacks of arrows, 1 stack of diamonds (yes they had a few stacks of diamonds. I was planning on making diamond blocks so I could fit more, but there was no crafting table.), and a stack of string and a stack of sticks to make bows.
I had a few inventory slots left, not including my sword (I was not allowed a bow). Just enough for a few more things. Maybe they had some shields. The new inventions were in the papers, including the shield. There was also talk of a new style of transportation, but it was kept on the down low.
Opening the next chest, I gasped. It wasn't armor, or weapons, or food.
It was TNT.
"Why would they need you?" I muttered to myself. Were they planning on being destructive? Were they going to use it on us?
I grabbed a stack of TNT and shut the chest, just as a new sound rang out.
"Don't move."

"Turn around."
I didn't do anything. "If I turn around, I'm technically moving. So which is it."
"Oh. Uh, I said turn around!"
I did as he said, and came face to face with a soldier. He had an iron pick in is hand, obviously used to break the door down.
His eyes grew big as he recognized me. "Empty your pockets."
I threw a string down.
"All of it."
I threw another string down, giving him a sly smirk.
"That's it." He growled, coming closer.
I slammed my shoulder into his chest, knocking him over. I ran outside and turned right. However, I skidded to a stop. 5 soldiers were there.
"Freeze!" One yelled.
Instead of obeying him, I did a 180 and ran toward the center of the town.
It was quite a chase. People were sprinting after me, as well as a few that joined from the sides. There were some in front that realized what was happening, and tried to get into my way. I hurtled over one guy that jumped from the side, trying to knock me over.
And I didn't realize it later, but sirens were wailing that an intruder was there.
I turned right between two tents. There were a few chests that I jumped over easily.
At one point, I found myself trapped. A ring of at least 15 soldiers surrounded me. I could see the wall where the entrance used to be— it was so close.
"We can do this the easy way, or the hard way." One man said.
I got a crazy idea. I took out a piece of TNT and held it high for everyone to see. "Stand back or I'll light it!"
At first they backed up with nervous looks, but the same guy said, "You have nothing to light it with."
I grabbed my sword and set it on fire. The flame casted shadows against my face, and made a circle of light around me. I brandished my sword close to the explosive block.
"I will light it." I warned. "Now let me pass."
They all looked at each other, unsure of what to do. Finally, someone shouted, "Open the gate and let her through!"
A few seconds of silence.
Then, the unmistakable sound of pistons was heard, and the wall started to open from both sides. Eventually, it stopped at 8 blocks.
"Now let me pass." I said to the guys blocking the way.
They parted for me uneasily.
I walked through, careful to not let anyone try to grab for me.
When I was about 20 blocks from the wall, I heard another noise.
Whoosh!
An arrow sunk itself into my shoulder, right next to my heart. I cried out in pain, and looked up at the wall. An archer was there. I quickly took the arrow out. However, the throbbing pain wasn't going away. I looked at the arrow's tip. It was green. It was a poisoned arrow.
I put the TNT away, wincing. I turned around and glanced at a group of army men charging at me.
I started to run toward the wall, which was closing up. My arm felt like it was being ripped apart every time I swung it. However, my sword was still aflame in my other hand, the end like a comet's tail as I sprinted.
A full iron armor soldier climbed down from the wall and held his iron sword out threateningly. I groaned, not having time for it. The wall was at 4 blocks, and closing fast.
I stopped to fight the soldier. He swung at my chest, and I backed up. I stabbed my sword into the ground, and used it for momentum as I launched myself at the guy. I kicked him in the chest and he fell.
The wall was at 2 blocks. I started sprinting again.
1 block wide. The blocks quickly formed at the top and started downward, almost ending the last layer.
At the very last second, I went down and slid under the wall. The last block closed up as soon as I made it to the other side.
But there were still archers. They shot at me, no one getting lucky yet.
I ran into the streets. It was early in the morning at this point. Still dark out, but the sun would rise soon.
The sirens finally stopped. I glanced behind me. No one was following me.
I ducked into an alley, and hid behind a few chests. I sat down and tried to steady my heavy breathing. I almost had tears in my eyes from the pain in my arm.
So much for a stealth mission.

Ahhhh long exciting chapter.
Ahhhh I plan on having another one of these kinds in probably the chapter after the next one or so. Gonna be soon I know that.
Question: Ahhhh do you guys prefer being stealthy ninjas or go in chaotic?
Ahhhh rock on, my little rebels.
