Chapter 24 ~ Trust Me, I'm A Doctor

Dude I just realized that they spent like half of this book so far in Bladville like wtf is this madness.

Also I will be introducing ThReE new characters in this chapter 😋😉😏

Also at the end is a very important author's note

~<>~

"Woah! Look at that one!" Skye exclaimed, pointing to one float in particular. It was a giant wool creeper, stacked at least 20 blocks high. Hissing noises came out of the mouth using either noteblocks or a really loud person.

"I don't like that one!" Gordon shook his head.

"I thought you loved creepers?" Abby shouted over the crowd.

He shuddered. "Not after the mishap in the desert."

"True." Abby grinned. "What about that one?"

She pointed to a float made of different blue wools, different blue clays, and had a raised lapis lazuli platform. The Ballistic Builders were all on the platform, waving and blowing kisses to the crowd.

"Nope. Hate that one too."

I caught Abby slightly smiling at him. They were getting along better, with less awkwardness. And I always can catch them looking at each other.

A diamond themed float came by. We were more towards the back of the crowd, but we were still able to see because they were so large. There was a man on a diamond block throne in diamond armor, and diamond ore surrounded him. A 5 by 5 diamond block was at the back behind the throne, and it shot out blue fireworks from time to time.

As our group stared in awe at the passing parade floats, I gazed more in the streets. Notch knew something was going to happen. Either that, or he set it up himself. Both ways made me on edge.

However, I couldn't help but glance at the details on the floats. There was a giant dog one with a wagging tail and a bone in his mouth. He had on a black collar and looked just like Gabriel. ( JonBMX and TriLight102 agreed on this idea). Another was an End themed one. It had a Enderman face as a background, and a mini end biome. People dressed as Enderman walked and danced on it, while a girl dressed as the dragon was on a tall obsidian pillar waving (@superbuay gave me an Enderman idea). The one that I loved the most though was a sweets float. It had giant cookies, cake, and pumpkin pie. It was so beautiful I almost teared up (@Evenstar09 cookie float).

"Kat, lighten up." Jake nudged me.

I raised my eyebrows. "Huh. Weird. Usually I'm the one telling you to lighten up."

"This is a parade, have some fun." He smiled at me, and I couldn't help but smile back. I also couldn't help but notice that we were very close together because of the crowd.

To break our accidental staring contest, I looked back to the floats.

"Definitely Gabriel's favorite." Infinity lifted the little pup up to see the dog float. Gabriel tried to run as he was lifted up, but he got used to the high ground and started to watch. I was surprised he didn't bark at everyone or misbehave in any way.

"EXCUSE ME, PARDON ME!"

A voice yelled from the left. I turned to see someone moving in the crowd toward us. People shifted to let them go through, but some were shoved aside.

"STOP IN THE NAME OF THE LAW!"

"This again?" Mastermind sighed. "They should know that never works."

It must've been the same people from before. The person that was running away from the police when we were in the park.

"Who would commit a crime in the middle of a parade?" I asked above the noise. Not many people knew what was happening, so there was still cheering.

The person finally reached our little opening between the crowd and us. They were the same person from before. Same clothes, the black hoodie and stuff, except this time they didn't have a bag. Instead, they held a diamond in their hand.

They looked at us, their hood up and covering most of their face. All I could see was their mouth.

Then, they tossed the diamond at me. I barely caught it before it hit the ground. When I looked back up, the person ran away, still heading right.

"HALT!" The police finally caught up. Three police officers, all men, stepped into our opening. They took a moment to look at us.

"Katherine Moone." One of them said. I mentally cursed at him for saying my full name. "You are currently under charges for conspiring with a criminal. Give us the diamond now and you will be let free."

I blinked. What?

"I saw her talk to the thief before!" Someone from the crowd cried.

"Yeah!" A younger voice said. "I've seen them hang out before! All of them!"

The cops frowned at us like we were naughty children (why am I laughing so much).

"Hey now." Jake warned. "We didn't do any of that. That person just tosse—"

"We are going to need to take you all in for further questioning." The middle one stepped forward. "Give us the diamond now, and we won't put you in confinement."

I looked at the police. I looked down at the gem in my hand. I looked back up at the police. I looked at my friends. They looked at me.

"Kat?" Jake was confused to why I hadn't given it to the police yet.

Trust the rebels.

Notch's words echoed in my head.

"No."

Everyone seemed shocked by the one word I said loud and clear.

"No?" One of the officers repeated.

"What are you doing?" Someone hissed in my ear. I was too focused to care about who it was.

"No." I confirmed. "Or nope, nah, nay, absolutely not."

"She's crazy." Jake chuckled nervously, walking over to me. "Too much sleep." He tried pulling the diamond from my grip.

"Please trust me." I whispered, looking him in the eye.

He stared into mine for a few seconds. I could tell he was trying to read my mind, to know why I was doing this. I was turning us into criminals by refusing, and Jake was only trying to make everything right. But I still held my ground. Jake let out a light puff of air, then let go of the gem in my grasp.

"We're gonna need to take you in." The left officer stepped forward.

I closed my eyes. "Well, if that's how it's going to be..." I opened my eyes. "RUN!"

I sprinted to the right where the person ran. I didn't know if my friends were behind me, but I didn't look back.

"KAT THIS BETTER BE A GOOD IDEA!" Infinity screamed. Gabriel barked in agreement.

Yep. They were behind me.

I stuck to the right beside the wall, since going in the crowd would be slower. Sure it would make us harder to find, but at the moment, I didn't want to hide. Notch said to trust the rebels. I needed to find that person.

I scanned the area, jumping over a block. The police were calling behind us. The crowd was still cheering, but some people stared at us as we ran past.

As we ran, I noticed more officers in front of us running toward us. They were about 50 blocks away.

I skidded to a stop, my friends smashing into my back. I wobbled and managed to regain my balance.

"Now what?" Abby breathed out.

I looked both ways. Then I looked at the crowd. We could probably shove our way through to the other side of the street...

"This way!" Someone shouted.

My thoughts were interrupted by the same voice as before.

They were further down the street in front of an alleyway opening. I still couldn't see their face, and they were pointing to the alley.

Now kids, if a random person that you don't know at all asks you— or tells you— to go into an alley with them, don't do it. It's bad. Trust me, I'm a doctor.

But our case was different. For one, we were on the one from the police. Two, a god told us to trust that person. Three, we outnumbered them.

I started running again, listening to the protests of my friends. Nevertheless, I also heard their feet pound against the ground.

I caught up to the person with the police 30 blocks in front of us. The other force was about 20 blocks behind us. I turned to the right into the short alley. There was a chest dumpster to the left, and random chests in front of us stacked against a tall wooden fence. I whipped my head around and saw the person run past me. They quickly whipped out a diamond axe and broke one of the chests in the back to reveal a hole in the ground.

"They're coming!" Skye warned us.

"Come on!" The person motioned for us to come. There was something weird about their voice, but I didn't have time to think about it.

Abby, Infinity, Skye, and Mastermind jumped into the hole.

"You next Kat." They tried to grab for me, but I jumped out of their reach.

"Me last." I said sternly.

They shrugged. "Then close it up." Then, they jumped in.

Jona went down, then Gordon.

"Go." Jake told me.

"I will punch you." I warned.

He gave me a face and jumped down.

I glanced back toward the entrance. No officers yet. I set the diamond on the ground. Then, I jumped down.

As soon as I touched ground, I jumped up and placed the chest against the wall to close up the hole. It became darker from the lack of light (NO REALLY?!), so when I looked around I didn't see anything or anyone. But I did hear slight heavy breathing.

Loud footsteps were heard from above.

"Where'd they go?!"

"Did they jump over the fence?"

Someone answered in a deadpanned tone, "Do you really think they could jump a two block tall fence in that time?"

"Man, I don't know what they can do. Let's just go around the block."

The footfall of the officers started to fade away as they left.

I allowed myself to breathe finally.

A bright light shined into existence as someone held out a torch. It was our mysterious savior. The light illuminated the room we were in. It was a 2 block high stone hole that was a 6 by 6 square. A small 2 block high 1 block wide passageway led away.

"Thanks for saving us." Abby nodded to the dude, who nodded back.

"Why did we need to go through all that trouble though?" Mastermind asked, his question directed to me.

I pursed my lips. I really didn't expect all this to happen. "Notch advised me to trust the rebels." I turned to them. "Which I'm guessing is you."

They shrugged, and turned around to the tunnel. "Follow." Their voice was kind of deep, but it was a weird kind.

Everyone glanced at each other, unsure.

I was the first to actually follow. Behind me, everybody followed in a single file line. The only light was the one torch in front.

"So uh, who are you?" I asked the person.

They didn't respond.

"Where are we going?"

They didn't respond.

"Does Notch have to do with any of this?"

They tensed up for a second, but didn't reply again.

An annoyed expression appeared on my face. "Can you please tell us where we're going?"

They shushed me. "We're not too far from the surface. People can still hear us." They whispered sharply.

I somewhat growled back, and quit talking. But still... How dare they shush me?!

Eventually, we took stone brick stairs downward. The ceiling was close to our heads, so some of us had to bend down slightly.

Finally, we reached a 3 by 3 stone brick hallway. At the end was just a regular cobblestone wall.

We walked to the end, and the person handed me the torch without a word. They then knocked on the door twice, stopped for a second, and knocked on it twice again.

Nothing happened.

The person groaned. They knocked harder. "Open the door, Jazz!"

"Password?" A young male voice yelled from inside.

"We don't have a password!" The person's voice got higher.

Silence.

"Correct!" Pistons opened the door from all sides. A bottom sticky piston moved up and grabbed the middle block, then carried it back down.

Gordon whistled in approval.

The door revealed a room, with a young boy standing in front. He was a short fellow, looked a little younger than us. He wore a black leather jacket (what is it with people and black?) with a light purple t shirt underneath. He had on blue jeans and high brown boots. Like me, he had purple eyes, but his were a shade lighter. His hair was black with purple streaks.

The room behind him was circular, with convex stone walls. If I had to guess, it had a diameter of 30 blocks. The floor was oak wood planks, and the 7 block high ceiling was stone as well. There were tables and chairs with some people sitting at them. Three tunnels on all sides opened into different rooms.

"Welcome to my man cave!" The boy, Jazz,  turned around and spread his arms. I noticed that he had a pair of Enderman eyes on the back of his jacket.

"Don't you need to be a man to have a man cave?" Another male voice said from the side.

"Ash I'll fight you!" Jazz jokingly put his fists up.

"You also need to get your own catchphrases. That one is mine." A dude strolled over to us. He looked around our age, about 16. He had black hair, and brown eyes. He had on a white t shirt, and faded blue jeans. Despite the smirk on his face, Ash kept rubbing his arms awkwardly.

"We can share." Jazz glanced to our mysterious guide. "Speaking of sharing..."

"Oy Scar." Ash held his hand out. "Hoodie. Now."

"But it's so cute when boyfriend give their girlfriends their hoodies." The little dude teased.

Girlfriend?

"We're not dating!" They both shouted at him. He shrugged with a sly smile and backed away.

"Scar" quickly took off the hoodie. They were a girl. A girl with brown and blonde hair, and amber colored eyes. Under the hoodie was an orange and yellow shirt, but they still had their jeans. They had on a necklace made of a single diamond on a string. The bright shirt contrasted from her grim expression greatly.

"Here." She rolled it in a ball and tossed it to Ash. Then, she pulled out the diamond axe and handed it to Jazz. "And here's your spare axe."

"I was wondering where it went!" He exclaimed, grabbing it and petting the handle. "Least it wasn't my battle axe."

Battle axe?

Then, she looked at us. "Name is Scarlet, friends call me Scar. That's Ash and Jazz. The rest, you can find out yourselves." She exhaled. "Welcome to the rebels."

Ash is Radishologist's character, and Jazz is wizardchess's character. Scarlet is created by me.

Question: what do you think of these new characters?

Now the important part!

I made a business

I have done a many skins, and here are a few examples:

It's not really official at the moment, I'm just drawing free skins for people.

But ye you should request a skin at some point. I have a line at the moment  (Ikr its awesome) but it takes me about a few hours to make a skin. So  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rock on, my little rebels.
