Chapter 20 ~ Horns And Capes

Sorry I got this chappy up a few days late. I'm not gonna give a good excuse and Imma just admit I am very lazy.

Anyways, I got back into watching GoldSolace (amazing Minecraft artist you should check him out), and decided to do some portraits using his style:

That's all I did so far tbh.

Bye!

"Who's my family?" I blurted out. "Where are they? Did you have anything to do with my 'coma'? How did I suddenly change clothes? What dimension were you in? Tell me the prophecy. Why is Herobrine so evil? Why do you have a beard; what's that all about? How are you able to create new items, but your brother can't? Who helped me out of that pit on my second day?"

"Okay, okay, slow down."

I started to pace. "Why can't people tell me the prophecy? If you could see everything from that dimension, why did you need to know if we knew about the mutant mobs? (KAT STOP I HAVEN'T THOUGHT THAT FAR) Can't I just ask a random person what the prophecy is? Who knows about it? What—"

"Kat!" Abby stopped me, eyes wide.

I smiled at her sheepishly. "Sorry."

"When I said you can tell me a few questions you have for Notch since we're waiting for the others to get back, I didn't have this in mind." She closed her eyes. "Okay, so I don't think you should do it so fast. I could barely keep up."

"Okay okay." I nodded at every syllable.

"And you should probably order them so he can answer a few at a time."

"And have them be related to each other?"

"That'll make it easier."

"Alright." I exhaled. "Anything else?"

"Uh, yeah." She crossed her arms, sitting on the bed. "Why are you curious about his beard?"

I shrugged. "It's a legitimate question."

She sighed.

We've been sitting in the room for about 40 minutes. Most of the time, we were just talking about deep things like the universe, time, and why unicorns didn't exist. I suggested we asked Notch that question, which brought us to now.

"Also, why do you want to know who helped you out of that pit?" She questioned me.

I replied, "I dunno. It just seems a little weird, and I'm still curious."

"Couldn't there have been random stairs there?"

"Imma answer your question with another question. I know you love to build and all, but who would take the time to make regulars stairs, and not just build up, or make a cheap staircase?"

She thought about it, and surrendered. "Alright. You're right. But for the clothes, I feel like it was because of Notch."

"I figured that." I admitted. "But there could be a bigger reason, so I should ask it anyway."

"Fair point. The question about the coma, and the question about Notch being able to create items is good. Everything else is the same as before. I think you're good."

"Thanks." I closed my eyes and smiled proudly.

I heard the opening of a door, and footsteps.

"Hi guys." Abby said.

I opened my eyes and saw Infinity, Mastermind, Jona and Skye walk in. Infinity was soaked for some reason, and the guys looked slightly tired. Jona was carrying a stuffed animal, and Mastermind and Skye had a bunch of bead necklaces on.

"Infinity you're soaking wet." I frowned.

Hello to you too." Mastermind said.

"Someone ran past me and shoved me in a fountain." She grumbled and crossed her arms. "I got out and chased after the dude, and beat him up. But then security kicked me out."

"I didn't even know they had security." Skye shrugged.

"What about you guys?" I asked them.

"Eh, we had enough fun." Mastermind sat down. "Plus Infinity looked mad so we felt bad."

"I feel wet." Infinity said grumpily.

"I bet." Abby said.

"You aren't dry yet." I grinned.

"I don't get it." Skye frowned.

"What's not to get?" Jona nudged him.

"No sweat." Mastermind played along.

"Here, I'll give you a set." I explained. "Abby is a brunette, deadlox has a headset, and Infinity looks upset."

He thought. "Nope. Still don't get it."

"This, I'm beginning to regret." Mastermind put a hand on his forehead.

"I wish we could reset." Abby sighed.

"THEY'RE ALL RHYMING YOU DING DONG." Infinity shouted at Skye.

Skye blinked. "Ohhhh..."

Just then, we heard laughter and footsteps. Then, Jake and Gordon appeared in the doorway. They both had necklaces and hats on, and were too busy laughing to notice us staring at them.

(Abby's PoV: Looks like he got over that quickly...)

"Sup guys." Jake wiped one of his eyes.

Gordon was about to say something, but he noticed Abby. He opened his mouth, then closed it. Finally, he made out, "Hey everyone."

I resisted a frown. Hopefully it wasn't going to be like that all the time.

Jake furrowed his eyebrows at Infinity. "Infinity, you're wet."

"I heard."

Notch was right. He was protecting me. And he did stop.

It took me only a few seconds to get to sleep. But then I wasn't in my bed anymore.

I was in space. Like, literal space with stars everywhere. There were no signs of the sun, or Minecraft. Just stars.

And the moon. I didn't know how far away it was, but from my point of view, it was about the size of my forearm.

I probably should've been scared, or worried, but it was honestly pretty cool. I loved the view.

"Moon..." I mused. Why was my last name Moone? Why did I even have a last name? More questions to add to the list.

All of a sudden, the stars started zooming toward me. They weren't getting bigger, like they were just on a page, but they were getting brighter.

(This first part may sound like the beginning of Enchanted but hush)

One smashed into my side. I rubbed my hand over it, but it was a large speck stuck to me. Another one smacked my forehead. Then another. And then another. Soon I was getting covered in them, and the brightness was burning my vision. I closed my eyes and swatted blindly, trying to get them away.

Finally, one last nudge and it all stopped.

I opened my eyes and saw I was in complete darkness. I didn't even know if I was in space anymore, but everything was gone. It was honestly starting to get scary. I couldn't see anything.

Then, I felt something push against both outstretched hands. Walls. They were closing in.

I started to panic as I felt a wall above me and below me. I was trapped in a box that was getting smaller. Just like that other dream right after the village was torn apart.

I pushed upwards and sideways, but nothing was working. My breathing became rapid; it all felt so real. I was feeling claustrophobic (Afraid of Santa 😢). Was I actually claustrophobic?

Screaming for help wasn't an option. I tried to, but there was no sound coming out.

My knees were digging into my chin, and I actually whimpered. I closed my eyes again.

Just a dream. Just a dream. Just a dream. Just a dream. Just a dream. I kept telling myself the same thing.

When I couldn't be squeezed together any tighter, I felt the walls expand and I immediately spread my arms and legs and inhaled deeply.

"Comfy?" An unfamiliar male voice said.

I felt a sudden jerk, and I was sitting on the ground. I finally opened my eyes, and saw I was in an obsidian room. It was 10 by 10, 7 blocks tall, and the only light was coming from a single redstone torch in the middle of the room, which didn't light up much. I didn't see anyone else in the room from where I was.

"Not really." I stood up and felt the wall behind me for comfort. I checked my inventory for anything, but nothing.

"What a shame." They tried to sound upset, but I could detect amusement.

"Show yourself." I tried to be calm and brave. It was only slightly working. Welp, only one thing to do left. "Unless you're a coward." Bluff and act tough.

He tutted, and I heard slow footsteps. "Now is that any way..." Gray shoes appeared in the dull light of the torch. "To treat..." He fully emerged from the dark. "Your rival?"

The person had on blue jeans and a sky blue shirt. He had short, dark brown hair, arms crossed, and a smirk on his face. But his eyes were the creepy thing about his. They were glowing white.

Somehow I knew that it was him. The man that started this whole thing. The enemy. Herobrine. He had a dark power radiating from him, even in a dre—nightmare. After all this time, I finally saw what he looked like. To be honest though, I expected him to look more evil. Like with horns or a cape or something. But I still took a tiny step back.

He scowled. "Seriously."

"What?" I asked, confused.

"You're meeting me finally and that's all you have to think? 'Horns'? 'Capes'?"

He could read my thoughts?

"Yes." His scowl lightened to a frown. "Although now I am starting to regret it."

I felt proud of my brain at that moment.

We just stared each other for a little bit, me slightly breathing hard from my small space encounter before.

He sighed. "This is not working out like I thought it would. Perhaps I should just wipe your memory and start this all over."

"Wait wait wait." I said quickly. "Okay okay just give me another chance." I regained my composure. I put my hands on my cheeks and gasped dramatically. "You're Herobrine!"

"Yes, yes I am." He couldn't hide that he was pleased. "And you're Katherine Moone. Of course, you don't like to be called that."

"How do you...?" I stopped myself. He probably knew a lot of things.

"I do indeed." He grinned. "I also know the prophecy, your destiny, basically every answer to every question you asked."

"So does Notch." I countered.

His expression hardened. "But he won't tell you that, will he. Neither will your friends. Some friends, in my opinion. They won't even tell you about your family."

I turned my view from the floor to him in record time. "What?"

Herobrine's small smile grew wider. "Yes, they know some things. And I can tell you those."

They... they knew about my family? But Jake said...

"Tell me who my family is."

"No," he put his hand up. "I won't tell you. After all, I'm not supposed to be nice. In fact..."

He clapped his hands twice and disappeared. The walls slammed together quickly, and I felt the pain as they shut.

I woke up sweating and shaking. I looked carefully around the room. The other two girls were sleeping, and the room was dark. It was still night.

I slowly laid back down and thought about the experience. Herobrine's appearance may not have been intimidating.

But his power was.

This chapter was supposed to be the chapter where we find out who the council chooses but the dream ran long so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Question: Do you like the funny yet powerful villains or the serious/scary ones?

Rock on, my little rebels.
