But anyways, a lot of stuff happens in this chapter, so be prepared.

Yus I am so happy I found that.

Also, I haven't done a song in forever, so I guess here's one. It's one of my favorites.

It's one of my favorite songs. If you have access to YouTube or something, you can listen to it as you read. K bye

~ Murning ~

"Ugh, my back." Jake rubbed his upper back.

"Quit complaining." Infinity punched his arm, which made him groan. "You're the one who chose to sleep on the couch."

I laughed. "Someone had to. Go easy on him, Infinity. He's Gordon's hero."

"Boy up." Skye said to Jake.

"Are you calling me a girl?"

Skye smirked. "Maybe. Revenge."

"Guess so." He stretched, and a crack was heard, followed by a sigh of relief, and Gordon cringing.

"So." Mastermind said with an amused look. He was quiet the whole time. "Are we coming up with a plan then?"

I started. "From what Mulligan said—"

"Mullian." Jona corrected.

"Whatever. From what Mullian said, we need to talk good about us, and also need to talk crap on Herobrine."

"Easy." Gordon shrugged. "He smells."

"How do you know that?" Abby raised her eyebrows.

"I don't. But he's a bad guy... so he must."

Skye nodded. "Good logic, good logic."

"You guys are hopeless." Jake covered his face with his hands, and shook his head.

"Like you could do better?" Infinity asked him.

"Easy." Jake shrugged. "We need to be asking them questions. Why did Herobrine start the war in the first place? What does he plan on doing with the world if he wins? It can't be good, that's for sure."

We all thought on it.

Then, I patted him on the back, making him wince and me raise my eyebrows. "I'm sorry! But I think you're getting somewhere."

"Okay, do you all know what's gonna happen?" Jake pressed the elevator button.

We all nodded or said, "yes".

"Do we have to say our names and stuff again?" Gordon raised his hand as the elevator door opened.

We all stepped in, this time without Abby trying to escape.

"Yes...?" Mastermind looked puzzled.

Jona pressed the floor button. "We should. Just in case."

We spent the rest of the elevator ride in silence, anticipating what was coming next. What happened was going to change the war. It was going to change whether we'd win or lose. Last night and this morning, we had briefly discussed Bladville's army strength. Their camp was on the other side of the island, taking up almost half of it. Most of Bladville's population was a member. When they had gotten the offer from Herobrine a few months ago, they immediately had to withdrawal their troops that were spread out across the land, and bring them home. We lost a huge portion of the Army of Notch (don't know if that's the official name, but it sounded good) ever since then. And since the mayor of the city (was he even there at the meeting?) was being 'controlled', he probably had influence over the council and city, it was going to be more difficult. And the whole city seems to be with Herobrine.

... But being negative won't help anything. I had to believe in us.

The elevator stopped, and opened.

As we walked out, Abby exclaimed, "Guys, I did it! I...." She trailed off.

"What?" I turned my head to where she was looking.

There was a different guy there, waiting for us. He was a young, handsome dude who couldn't have been more than a few years older than us. He had dark brown hair, dark red eyes, and pale skin. He wore a traditional black suit with a red tie to match his eyes. Normally, the eye color would make me think he was bad, but he was a politician, so it made sense (Lel true dat).

Infinity gasped behind me. I turned to her. She was staring at the guy wide eyed. I raised an eyebrow, and she eventually noticed me, changing her expression back to a normal one.

"Hello." The guy was smirking slightly. His eyes flickered between all of us, but mostly Infinity and I. "I'm glad you are here on time. In fact, you're a little early." He walked closer.

"Well that's good." I nodded. "And you are?"

"...Shane." He extended his hand once he was in reach. I shook it, and I could feel his hand harden. I looked up at his face and he winked at me, then let go. "So do you have any questions before we go in?" It was like he read our minds.

"Yeah, um..." Gordon stepped out. "Do we need to announce ourselves again?"

"It would be rude not to. Anything else?"

"Does the mayor come to meetings?" I asked.

Shane's smile turned into a pokerface. "No. It is just council only."

"But shouldn't the mayor a part of the council?" Abby frowned. "He is kind of a symbol of the city."

"Well, that is all he is. A symbol. You see, in our city, the council rules all, and the mayor is only there to be a figurehead; we just simply make sure he is up to date with news, such as you all getting here. However, he does occasionally help make decisions, like who we will choose."

"Will we ever meet him?" I asked.

He turned to me with an amused look. "In due time, you will meet the leader  of the town."

Why did he say it like that?

Shane looked outside and sighed. "It's showtime. Do as you did yesterday when you walk in."

We walked down to the large door. He rested his hand on the door before turning back to us. "And I do hope you all have a plan. Because this time, no one will come to your rescue."

Well isn't he charming.

He opened the door and stepped inside. As we followed, I looked back at Infinity and gave her a look like 'do you know him?' Instead of answering, she looked away with a weird expression.

I wanted to question her further, but we were already in the room. It was just like before, except some people were sitting down. Our guy Mullian was there with an emotionless face. One of the 5 elevated seats were vacant, but Ivan was there staring down at us, and Jane was smiling. There was another middle aged woman with graying black hair, and an old man with a full head of gray hair.

Shane stepped forward. "Upper councilman Shane, present."

"Shane." Ivan said sternly. Then, he chuckled, which made my jaw slightly drop. "Your timing is impeccable, as usual."

The young council member sauntered over to the stairway leading to the elevated platform. He took his seat to the left (my left) of Ivan.

We introduced ourselves just like yesterday, going down the line. When Infinity went up, she sounded a little nervous, staring at the ground right at her feet.

When we were finished, Ivan spoke again. "Now, you have rested and have hopefully prepared. Explain us your case. We are leaning toward the side of Herobrine's Army—" to this, some whispered. "—and you may try to persuade us. Why should we sign an agreement with you?"

We all looked at each other. I nodded to Jake, and he nodded back.

"First," Jake stepped forward. "I would like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind. What makes you want to side with Herobrine?"

Again, whispers were heard.

"Settle." Ivan banged his gavel, obviously not wanting any noise at all. He narrowed his eyes at Jake. "I believe we are here for you to explain, are we not?"

"Ivan." Jane slightly scolded. "There is no harm in answering their questions."

Ivan closed his eyes, and sighed. Then, he opened them. "So be it. Diane."

He looked at the other woman on the upper council. She spoke in a monotone voice, "He has reached out to us in a generous offer, in which we will have a wealthy reward of diamonds, emeralds, and gold, and as well as be spared from..." She trailed off because of a look from Shane.

"Spared?" I asked. "As in, he plans on destroying the world? Even if you all are spared, do you really want to live in a world like that?"

"No one exactly knows what Herobrine will do with the world." Jake stepped in again. "But from his history— I hope you all read up on your history—"

"We are aware of his history." Shane said.

"—Okay, so you must realize that there is a possibility of him going back on his word?"

"You are basing this all on a prediction?" Ivan sounded annoyed. "A possibility?"

"I believe you all are the ones basing this on a probability." Mastermind pointed out with a slight smile. "We are the good people who you have always been with. And we will still be the good people. We have Kat, and Notch is back, so our chances of winning the war increased. The reason you turned to Herobrine was because he offered you valuables."

Ivan opened his mouth, and closed it.

"Do you all have a better offer?" Shane asked.

"That's really what you have to say about all that?" Skye raised an eyebrow.

"It's true." The old dude said in a frail voice. "Your chances have increased, but we would like for you to answer the question."

"Errrrrrrr..... Huddle!" I announced.

To the surprise of the entire council, the eight of us huddled up in a circle.

"We can't really offer anything." Abby winced.

Jona shook his head. "Not without Notch's permission."

"We gotta say something!" Infinity whisper-shouted.

"Are you all done?" Shane asked loudly.

I popped my head up. "Just a moment!" I went back down. "We don't have anything else to offer ourselves."

"I think we need to sit this one out." Jake said, admitting defeat.

"Okay..." I sighed. "Break?"

We all put our hands in the middle, and when I yelled "break!", we lifted our hands up.

"I believe we will have a rewarding reward for you." I said, as if we actually had one. "But the quantity or quality isn't known yet."

"So you don't have one." Ivan concluded, narrowing his eyes even more.

I hesitated. "We don't. No. But you're going to let the amount of materials be the judge of all this? You're going to put this above your people's safety?"

"I do care about the safety of Bladville." His voice raised a little bit.

"Then trust us." My voice became soft. "We can handle this. As Mastermind said, Notch is back. And I guess I am too. But so is Notch. He was the one brother that was gifted with the power to create objects and apply laws to Minecraft. He can do, um, something that can change the weight of the war. In our favor."

Silence.

"Uhh Kat...?" Jake asked me, bewildered that I knew that.

How the nether did I know that? I guess I have superpowers that let me know history without knowing it. Nifty.

Ivan turned to Jane and started whispering. For once, he didn't look intimidating. In fact, he looked worried. Then he turned to Shane and had a brief discussion with him.

Finally, Ivan cleared his throat. "We will need the night to discuss our decisions. Come here tomorrow at exactly 10 o clock am."

"The festival is tomorrow." Jane told him.

Festival?

"Your point?" Ivan looked at her.

"They're young! They want to have fun. Let them."

"Why must you delay it?" He sounded exasperated.

"Ivan." Jane set her hand on his, which made me gag. "Another day couldn't hurt."

He thought about it, then sighed and nodded. "Okay. Be here at 10 o clock am on Tuesday. You are dismissed." He banged the gavel again.

As we walked out, I thought. It kinda bothered me that we couldn't know until a few days, but this festival thing intrigued me.

OMG ITS DONE BLAAAAARGH

Idk.

Lol I just added the festival in at the last second. Literally did not have any plans for it, so this is gonna be interesting.

Question: How do you pronounce 'Gordon' in your head? I meant for it to be G as in 'gore', but I realized it could also be pronounced 'Jordan'. Rip.

Rock on, my little rebels.
