"Hello?" I repeated.

"There you are!" My moms voice rang over the phone. "Where are you? Why have you not been answering your phone?"

I tried to answer, but she cut me off with, "Answer me Anne!"

"I'm trying." I finally got in. "You know that girl that was in the crash?"

"Yea, the ambulance showed up for her and she wasn't here."

"Well-"

I was immediately cut off with, "What did you do with her?" Anger started to rise in my moms voice.

"Just listen Mom."

"Excuse me?" Great, now the monster has been released.  A lump formed in my throat, preventing to answer my, now indignant mom.

"Um...Uh..." I repeat until this knot dissolves, Meanwhile my mom sits in silence only becoming more furious by the minute. "Sorry, I know this is going to sound crazy, but when I was at the crash and I saw Lily laying on the ground, everything froze. "

I was cut off when my mom said, " Who's Lily?"

"The woman in the crash."

"And, how would you know that?"

"She told me."

"When?"

"When I was driving her to the hospital."

"You were driving?" My mom's, then, calm voice fills with anger once again. "You don't know how to drive!"

"I have my permit."

"But, not your license!"

"I drove while time was frozen."

"What are you talking about?"

"When I saw Lily, I panicked and everything froze. I told you that."

"How did you freeze time, that's impossible!" Confusion leaks in her voice. She was quite over the phone for a few seconds, until she asked my dad something, but I couldn't understand what it was. After they engaged in conversation for what seemed like another few minutes, a new, deeper voice came through.

"What do you mean time froze?" Questioned the voice that belonged too my dad.

"I panicked and everything just froze." I answered.  Another conversation took place, and the whole time I couldn't make out what they are saying, but I can only assume it is about me freezing time.

By now I can feel the heat radiating from my phone onto my face.  How long does it take for them to have a conversation? Are they still talking about me freezing time? To past the time I zone out and let my thoughts take over.

One thought leaves as another comes, until, "You still there Anne?" All my thoughts then scatter away from my brain as I am forced into reality.

"Um, yea." I responded to another new, deep voice.

"This is Dr.Thomas , Anne, where are you now?"

"I'm at a hospital." I responded.

"I know that, which one?"

"I don't know, I just drove to the closest hospital that a GPS showed." Dr.Thomas said something, that I couldn't understand, again, to another person, then continued talking to me.

"OK. Anne, your parents are pulling up the hospital you're at on the GPS and we will be there as soon as possible."

"K." And, he hung up.

A hour and a half has past, and I haven't heard back from the doctor taking care of Lily, my parents, or Dr.Thomas. All I have been doing is scrolling through my now dead phone and watching a small television on the wall that was playing some show from the 90s. Once I got up to go get some chips, but I then realized, I had no money. So, now I sit here in an empty waiting room, mindlessly watching some sic-com. The sic-com consisted of a group of friends going through life, with way too much comical moments. Soon a voice rang over the intercom calling my name. The voice summoned me to the front where my parents were waiting with Dr.Thomas. I begin to make my way to the front, through hallways that are mostly vacant, expect for the occasional nurse wondering. The closer I got to the front, the more coughing I hear, followed by a sight of ill patients. With every patient was a nurse, caring for them.

Once I got to the front, I see my dad, along with my mom and Dr. Thomas all sitting down, facing away from my direction.

"Hi." I said grabbing their attention.

"There you are. I have been calling you since we left." My mom responded.

"My phone died." I said, pulling out my phone to show her.

"You didn't bring your charger?" My dad questioned, because I normally do, and today, of all days, I didn't.

"I forgot."

They all pulled me over into a more empty section of the full waiting room.

"So, how did you get here if time was frozen?" Asked Dr.Thomas.

"I borrowed a SUV from one of the security guards." I responded.

"So, you can drive with time frozen." Asked Dr.Thomas, again.

"Yea."

He began to mumble under hs breath to himself with conclusions like, "So, you can drive with time frozen? How did she get time to freeze? How come I can't do that?" While he was doing that my dad turned to me.

"So, how is Lily?"

"I don't know, the doctor hasn't told me anything yet." I told him.

Before my dad could respond, my mom looked at me and said, "Well, Anne, we need to seriously talk."
