Chapter 1
GeminiTay
Everything in the room was pure white. The walls, the floor, the roof, even the furniture. It really felt like she was walking into an infinity room, but she was actually walking into a lab. It’s a long story why. Gem didn’t really get good vibes from the room but the fact that she was surrounded by Hermits made her feel slightly better.
As the last Hermit entered the room the doors shut behind them and Gem immediately thought that they were trapped.
“Welcome to experiment #879,” a voice said, echoing in the room. It probably came from some well-hidden speakers. “You shall not worry, we have not trapped you. When I have finished speaking doors will open and you can explore all the rooms. You will find out what this experiment is about after a while. Thank you for participating.”
The room went completely silent and Gem watched as multiple doors opened, all having a different style than the other. None of the Hermits spoke as they chose a corridor to enter, but some of the Hermits just stood there, confused what to do. Gem was one of them.
“Please choose a corridor to enter,” the voice from the speakings said patiently. Gem decided to choose a corridor full of grass, flowers and blue walls that almost looked identical to the sky. She did not know how it was possible but it felt like she was outside, even though she wasn’t. Probably some random hocus-pocus they could do in this lab.
She felt peaceful as she slowly made her way forward, taking in the beautiful environment she could be located in. Thought she was a little lonely, she enjoyed sitting down in the grass and just thinking about everything possible.
How in the world did the lab manage to do this? It felt like she actually was outside, and the grass felt real. Perhaps all the other corridors were their own biome? Now that would be cool. Imagine being in a desert one second, and the next second you’re in this beautiful landscape.
But somewhere, deep inside her, she knew that this experiment wouldn’t be as this corridor. She didn’t exactly know what the experiment was, but she was sure it might awaken emotions she hadn’t felt in a long time. And that thought itself made her feel at unease.
Maybe I should go and find someone else, she thought, checking her pocket to see if she had a communicator. She didn’t, but instead she picked up a notebook and a pen. Weird, what am I going to use this for?
She decided to put her notebook back in the pocket, and then started her search for a buddy. She never realized how many corridors there was in the lab, but the corridor with flowers ended she had three other corridors to choose from, all with a different look. One was a desert biome, and Gem did not want to go through there. She had no water, and she also had no idea how long how corridor was. For all she knew she could faint of dehydration if she wasn’t careful.
The second corridor was just magma blocks and lava, and she already knew that no one was there. They’d just burn to death whitin thirty seconds.
That only left one corridor that was entirely made out of... Boats? Well, she was definitely going to find a member of Boatem in there, and she was pretty sure boats didn’t harm her. I mean, since when did someone in Minecraft die because of a boat? With Boatem hole excluded, the only possibility would be to suffocate in it, if it’s possible that is. Gem has never tried it for... Understandable reasons.
She could admit it, she had zoned out and mindlessly walked in the corridor as she was stuck in her thoughts. She was so distracted that she didn’t notice the dry blood on one boat, she just walked past it. It is a shame how she missed that, really. Because it came from one Hermit that had been suffering.

A/N:
Yeaahhhhh. I started another book. I’ve been wanting to write this for about a month now so here we are! For some reason I have this weird obsession with killing my characters-
I’m participating in this year’s Hermittpad Secret Santa, and I have no idea what to give the person I’m supposed to give something to. Help me.
Well, I’m really happy because my recorder teacher (I don’t know if that’s how you say it, you get what I mean) let me practice Megalovania during winter break! Finally no boring Sarabande song ;-;
(Yes, I play recorder. Been playing it since second grade)
Murder awaits :D
