Chapter 7 - Breakfast with the Family | Valentine's day special part 2/3

I was right.

I was going to torment myself for not remembering that one thing I assumed was important.

After getting over my embarrassment, I joined Patton in the kitchen making pancakes for the others, shaped like hearts because of course. Thomas and Roman arrived after we had finished cooking, the latter basically dragging his host by the ankle as he gripped at the carpet and begged for more quality time with Remy. I laughed as they came into the dining room, Patton joining me.

Patton took the coffee maker out of the pantry, silently signaling me to get the other things by pointing it's draw. I gave them to him and he began making a large amount of coffee for everyone. I started absentmindingly doing some of the dishes, having a lot on my mind. Around this time, Virgil had snuck of his room, his footsteps basically silent as he walked.

Neither of four of us already present noticed when he arrived since again he was really quiet. He used this opportunity to grab Roman's chair and tilt it back quickly, scaring the living hell out of him. Roman did his signature girl scream before Virgil began laughing. He put the prince's chair back to normal, the latter turning around still on his chair with an angry expression.

However his face softened when he saw it Virgil. He smiled at the emo who was pretty much wheezing at this point. How on earth aren't those two together yet? Virgil got over his laughing fit, sitting cuddling distance from Roman on one of the chairs.

By this time, Logan had come out of his room holding a book and reading it as he walked, relaying purely on muscle memory to find the room where he needed to be. He appeared in the dining room and placed it front of where he normally sat. He left wordlessly to go to the kitchen, yawning as he entered alerting us of his presence but not really who it actually was.

He entered the room, going behind Patton and lazily putting an arm around his neck. Said trait's breathing hitched before he realized who it was, giggling."Hiya Lo." Logan hummed in response, he is kind of nonresponsive in the mornings at least before his coffee. Speaking of coffee, it finished brewing up after that and Patton poured the logical trait a mug before turning around and handing it over.

"Thanks Pat-" Logan stopped his almost happy tone when he noticed the bags under the fatherly persona's eyes. He pursued his lips in irration at the fact this wasn't the first time. "ton." His voice was completely flat now. How he managed change his voice so rapidly mid-sentence is beyond me. Patton laughed awkwardly, not knowing what got Logan so glum. "What?"

Logan took the mug Patton and placed it on the counter, confusing Patton even more. He crossed his arms before getting straight to the point. "How many hours did you sleep?" Patton's smile faultered. "I... uh..." Logan sighed."Just attempt to get more sleep Patton. You need a decent sleep schedule to be entirely productive the next morning."

He took a step forward, uncrossing his arms and gesturing around with them to emphasize his point. "Also not getting enough sleep might interfere with Tho-" Patton shifted uncomfortably, Logan noticed this almost immediately and sighed, changing the tone of his speech. "I worry Patton. I want you to act like yourself, not tried and grumpy. So can you please try get more sleep, for me?"

Logan brought their conjoined hands to his chest, signaling to himself. Patton blushed slightly before smiling at the man in front of him. "I'll try." Logan, being entirely satisfied with the outcome of their brief conversation, took his coffee sat back at the table, beginning to read once more. Patton looked to where he had left before I cleared my throat, bringing his attention back to the task at hand.

He immediately got back to work on decorating the pancakes, working twice as fast as he was before. After he finished with the Crofters, he put it back before opening the fridge, looking for something. "Have you seen the maple syrup?" Patton asked with his eyebrows furrowed, closing the fridge and revealing me squirting the sweet goodness straight into my mouth.

I looked at him when he started to laugh, my aim faltered and the syrup dripped on my chin and around my mouth. "...no." He shook his head and chuckled, holding out his hand expectantly. I pouted, shutting the lid and passing it to him. This was normal routine, well except the maple syrup part. I definitely wasn't expecting Deceit to show up.

Patton briefly left the room to give the others the pancakes we had finished since they had waiting a while because we kept getting distracted. I was left alone, at least I thought I was. My eyes were suddenly covered and someone whispered in my ear. "Don't guess who~?" My breathing hitched as I recognized the voice. D-Deceit. Why would he be here?

I was going to verbally ask the question when Patton walked in, basically jumping up and down. "Hey kiddo! Thomas got an idea for a vide- huh? Why is he here?" It occured to me that this wouldn't look very platonic from an outside perspective. I mean it might not be platonic but still, my father figure caught me with a boy when we're as close as he could possibly get.

Not only that but Patton would most likely question how we meet, I'd have to lie since I wasn't going to throw my emo brother under the bus and Deceit would probably rat me out since he didn't like Virgil in the slightest.

Crap.
