It was barely morning when you had to join your team for the 2nd part of the Chunin Exams. You were standing among the remaining 78 Genin as you listened to Anko explain the rules for the survival test you were about to go through in the ominous looking area behind the fence.

Anko: This place is called the Forest of Death... And soon, you're going to find out why.

Naruto: Ha! I'm not scared! Bring it on!

Anko: Looks like we've got ourselves a tough guy.

She smiled before throwing a kunai passed him, leaving a small cut along his cheek.

Anko: Brats like you are the first to die in places like this. You're not scared all of a sudden are you?

She hummed and held a blade up to him.

As Anko teased Naruto, a ninja with a headband from the Hidden Grass appeared behind her. Her tongue had extended around the kunai knife that Anko had thrown before as she handed it back to her.

Anko: I wouldn't recommend standing so close behind me, thirsty for blood like that. Unless you want a quick death.

Grass Ninja: My apologies. With the sight of blood and my precious hair being cut by your blade, I simply got excited.

There was something about that ninja that seemed familiar to you, but you shrugged it off. After seeing Kabuto, you had started feeling a bit uneasy as if your dad was waiting around every corner. Hopefully this next exam would help you get your mind off of him.

With everything explained to you, many of the candidates looked concerned about having to survive for 5 days in the woods for an all-out battle to collect the two scrolls Anko showed you.

You each looked over your things as you waited to be called up to get whatever scroll you would be starting with. Your pouch was fully stocked with kunai knives, shuriken and food pills. You didn't know this was going to be a survival test that would last five days, but apparently thanks to your dad's training, you were always prepared.

You were starting to get impatient as you walked around, counting all the headbands you wanted to take for yourself. You were so focused on the hopes for your collection that you accidentally bumped into someone.

(Y/n): Oh, sorry about that.

You apologized and then noticed the 2 taller boys in front of you with headbands from the Hidden Mist.

(Y/n): Oh, you're from the Mist? I was hoping for something different this time.

You mumbled in disappointment.

???: I know we didn't exactly get along well the last time we met, but I was hoping we were still friends, (Y/n).

You heard a familiar voice from behind the two ninja and saw the last person you were expecting to meet during these exams.

(Y/n): Haku? You're alive!

You cheered at seeing his face and tried to walk over to him only to be blocked by one of the other two Mist ninja. You were in too good a mood to actually fight them so you jumped on top of one of their heads and hopped down to greet Haku.

(Y/n): I'm going to talk to my friend. Get in my way and I'll kill you here.

Haku: I'm glad to see you too, but I'll be in trouble if you hurt my watchers.

Sakura: (Y/n), you better not be picking fights before the test even begins.

Naruto: Wait a minute. Is that, Haku?!

Sakura: Haku...? Wait, you mean that masked guy who was with Zabuza?!

Your team came over to you after they saw you were taking too long to come back.

(Y/n): I'm surprised you're alive. I thought for sure you were going to die when you said you were going back to the Hidden Mist.

Haku: There were a lot people who wanted me to pay for mine and Zabuza's crimes, but the new Mizukage was actually very understanding and gave me this chance to prove myself.

Naruto: So they don't have a problem with your Kekkei Genkai (Bloodline Trait) anymore?

Haku: It was a big issue at first, but after I agreed to take a suppressant drug while inside the village, the elders said, it wouldn't be a problem.

You, Naruto and Haku caught up from the last few weeks as you saw how happy Haku looked to have moved on from Zabuza. Sakura did keep her distance like she did before, but this time it was out of respect instead of caution as she even smiled at seeing the three of you getting along.

Of course with the exam starting soon, you had to say your goodbyes, but wished Haku and his team luck as they were called up to collect their scroll. Soon your team was called up too and were given the Heaven scroll before going over to the gate you were going to use to enter the forest.

(Y/n): It was nice seeing Haku again. Do you think he's gotten any stronger?

Sasuke: If he has than that just makes things more interesting.

Naruto: It's nice to see you're not holding a grudge against him after last time.

Sakura: He does seem different... Like he's happier.

(Y/n): I guess anyone can change if they're given time.

Naruto: All right, as nice as it was to see him again, there's no way we can hold back now! We're going to pass this exam faster than anyone else, believe it!

Sakura: Just be careful. You heard the proctor, this is going to be an anything goes battle for those scrolls.

You all nodded and got ready for the gate to be opened.

When the fenced entrance was open, you all went running in until you were deep into the forest.

After just a few minutes, you could already hear screams coming from other directions. The fighting had already begun in some areas and it just added to the pressure that danger could come from anywhere.

Sakura: I don't like this place.

(Y/n): I was going to say we should split up, but that wouldn't be a good idea if one of us got into trouble and couldn't meet back with the others.

Sasuke: That's right. We stick together and keep our guard up.

Naruto: Uh... excuse me real quick I just need a minute.

He walked over to one of the trees and unzipped his pants only for Sakura to hit him over the head and yell at him.

Sakura: Are you kidding me? What are you doing in front of a lady! Go to the grass for that!

You were left waiting as Naruto walked behind the tree.

After a few minutes, he finally came back out, sighing in relief.

As Naruto walked closer to Sakura, Sasuke rushed at him and hit him with his palm, knocking him over to a tree.

Sakura: Sasuke, it wasn't that bad. You didn't have to hit him.

She said taking a few step towards Naruto.

(Y/n): Sakura, that's not our Naruto. Just look at him.

Sakura: Huh?

Sasuke: (Y/n)'s right. The cut he got on his cheek before test started is gone and his holster his on the wrong leg. The real Naruto's right handed. Your transformation is worse than Naruto's.

The transformed enemy undid his Jutsu and revealed he was a ninja from the Hidden Rain.

Rain Ninja: So my trick didn't last too long, big deal. I'm still going to be leaving with your scroll! Now which of you has it?!

He came running towards you and you watched as Sasuke jumped into the air and started forming his hand signs to attack.

Sasuke: Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!

He spat out a volley of fireballs down at the enemy, but he was able to dodge them and ran up one of the trees after Sasuke since he was the most obvious threat.

After he got up high enough he jumped at Sasuke and the two crossed blades in midair. The Rain ninja jumped across the trees to get away from him and then you heard Naruto's scream for help and spotted him tied up a few meters away from you. Sasuke took a second to throw down a kunai to free him, but this left him opened to the Rain ninja's attack.

He threw a few kunai at Sasuke, who was able to avoid them by ducking behind a tree branch, but was blown away when one of the kunai detonated from a paper bomb. Sasuke came crashing to the ground in front of you and was cornered by the Rain ninja.

Rain Ninja: This is one test you fail! If you move I'll kill you! Now calmly hand over the scroll.

Sakura: Sasuke!

She called out at seeing him in danger and got the enemies attention long enough for you to make your move. You dashed behind him with the long sleeves of your kimono flowing behind you.

(Y/n): Looks like you're the one who failed. (Binding Snake Glare!)

You summoned a large white snake out from the sleeve of your kimono and watched as the captured enemy trembled from the bloodlust your snake was passing on from you.

Rain Ninja: I-I... I'm s-sorry... P-Please w-wait...

(Y/n): Don't wanna.

You hummed happily and the snake crushed him instantly. You pulled the Rain headband from his head and let your snake drop him to the ground.

You then heard someone yelling and then saw two people, dressed similarly to the Rain ninja you had just killed.

Rain Ninja 2: No! You're going to pay for that! Now no matter what we do, we can't pass the exams!

(Y/n): That's what you're worried about? And people say I'm nasty.

You chuckled at hearing why they were angry as the two ran at you.

Rain Ninja 2: You're dead, you brat!

(Y/n): No, you are.

You smiled as you tossed two kunai from one hand towards them. They both easily dodged the attack, but you were expecting that and had something special on one of the knives.

Yang was coiled along one of the kunai and then jumped off when the blade got close enough and wrapped her body around one of the enemy's necks and started choking him. His screams distracted his comrade for a second and that gave you all the time you needed as you ran up to him and slashed his throat with another kunai. His blood splattered over you, but you still kept running until you reached the last one and stabbed him in the chest, killing him. You held the corpse up long enough for Yang to slither back to you.

(Y/n): Good girl, Yang!

You smiled as you praised her.

Your team was completely speechless as the regrouped towards you.

Naruto: (Y/n)... That was so awesome!

Sakura: Y-Yeah... Good job.

Sasuke: Too bad these guys were carrying a heaven scroll just like ours. Oh well, maybe having a backup might come in handy later.

(Y/n): Hehe! Guys check it out, 3 new headbands for my collection! I'm so lucky!

Sakura: (Y/n), let me clean that blood off of you.

(Y/n): Hrm? Oh I didn't even notice it. Hahaha!

You chuckled as she walked over to you holding out a handkerchief. She had you sit down on one of the tree roots nearby and wiped the blood off from your face.

(Y/n): Thanks Sakura. I know how much this stuff grosses you out.

Sakura: Don't worry about it. It's the least I can do after you defeated those guys so easily.

Sasuke turned away and bit his lip at seeing the 3 dead bodies behind him. He had so much trouble with just one of them that not even his Phoenix Flower was of any use. You on the other hand were able to win without breaking a sweat and treated it like a game the whole time.

Now that you all realized that you couldn't trust appearances alone, Sasuke decided to have a password for your group to prove each other in case another enemy should try the same trick as the group before. The password Sasuke came up with was a bit long, but you and Sakura were able to remember it, Naruto however clearly didn't seem to get it at all.

With the password in place, you got ready to start heading further into the forest. As you each stood up a strong gust of wind hit all of you. The wind was strong enough to lift you off the ground and sent you hurdling backwards.

You spread your arms out to the side and used your kimono to slow yourself a bit and guide you into one of the large roots sticking up from the ground so you wouldn't be carried away. Sasuke was knocked into a bush so he didn't go too far. Sakura stabbed a kunai into the ground and was only dragged a few meters. Unfortunately, Naruto didn't use anything to hold himself down from the wind and was carried away into the shadows of the trees.

You hopped down from the root you were holding on to and regrouped with Sasuke and Sakura after confirming the password from before. You were about to go after Naruto, but he suddenly appeared from the shadows and also confirmed the password to you. This struck you as strange since just a few minutes ago he was having trouble remembering what it was.

Sasuke noticed the same thing you did and attacked Naruto again to reveal another imposter. This time it was the grass ninja you had seen at front gates. She took out an earth scroll and flashed it in front of you before tying her tongue around it and swallowing it.

Grass Ninja: My earth scroll will look so much better with your heaven scroll, don't you think so?

She pulled her eyelid down and the gaze she gave you all was overflowing with bloodlust. It was stronger than anything you had ever felt before. You could feel it ripping you apart and splattering your blood along the trees as your body burned from the intense aura.

You stumbled and ended up on one knee as you gasped for air, Sasuke threw up from losing control of his body and Sakura was simply petrified as all she was doing was shaking where she fell.

(Y/n): I... I knew... that there was... something familiar about you...

You stuttered as you tried to stand up. You had trained to withstand the pressure of someone else's aura so you weren't as affected as the others were, but even with all of your training, there was only so much you could stand up to. If your body hadn't given in when it had, there was a chance that you would have gone crazy.

You recognized the bloodlust, but this was on an entirely different level than anything you had felt before. There was no doubt, the person in front of your dad, Orochimaru.

Orochimaru: So what happens now? I was expecting so much more from you. Oh well, I'll make this quick.

Whatever his reasons were, he had never come at you like this before so you had to be careful. This wasn't the time for your long awaited reunion.

He took a set of kunai out and tossed them at you.

To your own surprise, your body had started moving without you even realizing it as you jumped to grab Sasuke and Sakura from the blades flying towards you.

Orochimaru: What's this now?

He grinned as you laid on top of your team and Sasuke slowly stood up from under you.

Sasuke: G-Good job (Y/n), thanks.

(Y/n): Forget about it. Let's move!

You picked up Sakura and together ran into the trees to get away.

After believing that you had put some space between you and your dad, you decided to stop on one of the tree branches to see how the others were doing.

Sasuke: Sakura... Is she?!

Sakura: I'm fine. A little shaken up, but I'm okay now.

(Y/n): Don't force yourself. If you need help, we'll carry you.

Sasuke: (Y/n)'s right. I don't know who... what that person back there was, but we don't stand a chance against her.

Sakura: Huh? Sasuke, your leg!

You turned to Sasuke and saw he was holding a kunai into his leg. That was how he broke away from Orochimaru's bloodlust before. It was clever, but dangerous if he had struck any deeper.

(Y/n): Sasuke, we need to treat your leg quickly.

But instead of hearing what you had to say, he put his hands over both you and Sakura to keep you quite.

Sasuke: Shut up both of you!

He was so scared of Orochimaru that he didn't notice the giant snake that had slithered down behind him.

He was losing it and you had no time to properly warn him so you kicked his back, making him fall off the tree branch and finally notice the snake. You grabbed Sakura and jumped to another tree as the snake bit down on the branch you were standing on.

When the snake tried to attack Sasuke again, you jumped down and held Sakura with one arm so that you could throw your shuriken into the snake's mouth and killed it.

You saw Sasuke fumble onto one of the lower branches, he was still too shaken up to even move properly. With Sakura clinging to your kimono from how scared she was, you realized neither of them were in any condition to fight Orochimaru and that it would have to be you. Against your dad, fighting the way he was now, there was no way you could fight with everything you had and still look after your teammates.

Orochimaru: You're all so scared I can practically taste it. You're not letting down your guards for a moment anymore, but it's only natural for prey to be that way before its predator!

His voice came from the corpse of the snake you had just killed as his body slowly emerged from it.

He dashed after Sasuke as he wrapped his body along the tree only to be stopped by Naruto throwing a few kunai and shuriken in front of him.

Naruto: Hey, so what was the password again?

You and Sakura smiled at seeing him safe, but Sasuke was still too scared to even move.

Sasuke: Wait! You can have it!

Orochimaru: Hmm?

Sasuke: If it's the scroll you want, then I'll give it to you. I'm asking you. Just take this and go.

Sakura: What?!

(Y/n): You're giving up already?!

Naruto: Sasuke, what's wrong with you?! You're just going to give the scroll to the enemy?!

Sasuke: Shut up and stay out of this!

Orochimaru: Smart and sensible. If you know you can't win then you must find another way to escape the enemy

Sasuke tossed the scroll towards Orochimaru, but Naruto jumped down and caught it in the air and then punched Sasuke in the face.

In the confusion, Orochimaru lifted up his sleeve, revealing a summoning tattoo along his arm, similar to the one you had on both your arms. Naruto dashed towards him before he could summon what he wanted.

(Y/n): Naruto, stop! He's going to kill you!

Orochimaru: Too late. Summoning Jutsu!

A giant snake appeared after a gust of wind blasted Naruto away from your dad. It swung its tail at Naruto and sent him crashing into the trees. When he fell back down towards the snake's mouth the strange chakra you saw when you were fighting Haku appeared again.

Naruto was able to fight against the snake now with his new power, but was knocked down by Orochimaru's Fire Breath.

With Naruto stopped, Orochimaru smiled at the defeated boy and charged at Sasuke with the snake. As the snake was about to reach Sasuke, Naruto was able to stop it and save your other teammate.

Naruto: How much longer are you just going to stand there shaking?

As Naruto taunted Sasuke, Orochimaru stretched his tongue down and picked Naruto up and held him out in front of him.

You couldn't hear everything your dad was saying to him, but you heard the word "chakra" a few times so he must have taken an interest in the strange power Naruto had just shown off.

Orochimaru lifted the boy's shirt up and struck him in the chest after making a few hind signs.

Orochimaru: Five Pronged Seal!

Whatever he did to Naruto, it left him unable to move and then he picked the scroll out of the boy's back pouch.

With Naruto defeated Orochimaru simply tossed him to the side. Sakura quickly tossed a kunai to save him before he fell too far and pinned him to one of the trees.

Sakura: Sasuke, what's wrong with you?! Say what you want about Naruto. That he's an idiot and that he's a kid, but at least he's doing something!

You smiled at hearing her scream like that towards him and saw that her words had reached Sasuke too as he activated his Sharingan to truly fight Orochimaru.

(Y/n): Sakura, go take care of Naruto. I'll help Sasuke.

Sasuke: If you're going to back me up then you'd better be ready to keep up.

(Y/n): Ha! Look who's talking.

You chuckled as you covered Sakura so she could go over to help Naruto.

The two of you ran towards Orochimaru, but after he used another Wind Style to keep you at a distance you were forced to use your kunai, but they were useless as he moved out of their way without even trying.

When the wind wall he created had faded away you and Sasuke attacked him together, but you couldn't even hit him once before he jumped away. With his speed and flexibility, your dad moved along the branches as he circled you both.

Sasuke: I can see him. Get down!

You did as he said and Sasuke rolled on top of you before using his Fire Style again. Orochimaru was caught in the flames, but even with his perfect aim, the attacks were useless as Orochimaru charged at you again and fought you both.

You and Sasuke were forced to split up as Orochimaru's attacks became too much for you. Sasuke used wires to swing around the trees, and you jumped across them thanks to your experience in fighting in dense forests like this one.

Orochimaru's target was clearly Sasuke as he ran after him first and ignored you completely, but that worked to your advantage as he wasn't being careful with what you were doing.

(Y/n): (Striking Shadow Snakes!)

You had jumped down to help Sasuke after Orochimaru had hit him down. All 4 of your snakes missed as Orochimaru moved away from them and jumped to another tree.

Orochimaru: Did you really think an attack like that would work on me? I'm so disappointed.

You grinned as he let his guard down, leaving him open for your next attack.

(Y/n): Deadly Venom Needles: Heart Piercer!

A barrage of purple needles made from your chakra flew out from your hands and passed between the snakes you had summoned. He was caught by your attack and the needles had pinned him to the tree trunk behind him.

This was a Jutsu your dad had taught you a long time ago. The needles were meant to decay anything they touched, but you weren't strong enough to use it at full power so instead, the needles were just extremely poisonous.

Sasuke: Good work (Y/n) that was perfect. Now I can finish him off. Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!

He puffed out a strong breath of fire that incinerated the tree behind your dad, but knew that an attack like that wasn't going to be enough.

After the flames died out Orochimaru stepped away from the burned tree and made a hand sign the paralyzed you and Sasuke where you stood. Neither of your attacks had any effect on him.

Orochimaru: I wasn't expecting you to have such control of the Sharingan at such a young age. You truly are an Uchiha. I do want you, after all.

You and Sasuke struggled to move, but you were so far apart that you couldn't even help each other anymore.

Orochimaru: You are definitely his brother. Maybe your Sharingan is even stronger than Itachi's.

Sasuke: Who in the world are you?!

Orochimaru: Hehe, where are my manners? My name is Orochimaru and before anything else, I wanted to thank you for looking after my precious son. I know he can be handful sometime, but (Y/n) seems to be doing well here.

He juggled the scroll in his hand and set it on fire as he revealed himself as your parent.

Orochimaru: If you want to meet me again Sasuke then you'll have to defeat the Hidden Sound Ninja that are under my control and make it to the end of the exams.

Sakura: You're not making any sense! And we don't care if (Y/n) is your son! He fought with us to stop you! If you're done here then just leave! If we never see you again it'll be too soon!

Orochimaru: Oh that won't do.

He formed a hand sign and stretched his neck out towards Sasuke and bit down on his neck leaving a black mark.

Sakura: Sasuke!

Your teammate started writhing in pain before he fell on the ground and Sakura rushed to his side.

(Y/n): Dad wait! I-I don't know what happened back at the hideout, b-but I...

You weren't sure what to say to him after the reunion you had wanted for so long had turned into a fight.

In an instant he went from the other tree all the way to you and glared down at you.

Orochimaru: Wheels within wheels are in motion and while I will require you at your best... you are beneath my notice at the moment. Something far more interesting has caught my eye.

He grinned as he looked back to Sasuke.

(Y/n): W-What?!

You stuttered as your dad tossed your emotions to the side.

Orochimaru: Oh don't cry. I'll leave you with a parting gift too. It's time to see just how well you compare to him. Will you beat him at his own game or will you just be a second rate pretender?

You didn't understand what he was saying but he then punched you hard in the stomach, causing you to cough up blood and then grabbed you by your (H/l/c) and lifted you off the ground with one hand.

Orochimaru: Release!

He formed a hand sign near your face and a strange seal appeared around your (E/c) eyes. Then something shattered in each eye, making you scream from the pain as you covered your face.

(Y/n): Ah! Dad, it hurts! I-I can't see!

Sakura: (Y/n)?! Get away from him, you monster!

You barely heard Sakura's screams over your own crying.

Orochimaru: You seem to have made some good friends. I'll let you keep playing with them for a little bit longer.

Your dad whispered in your ear and then chopped down on your neck to knock you out and left you unconscious on the giant tree branch.

Sakura collected you, Sasuke and Naruto and took you down to the ground into a safe place as she started looking after all of you Yang had slithered around her neck as she watched over all of you with Sakura. Your dad's words still rung loud and clear in your head, his interest wasn't on you at all. Everything that happened was for him to get close to Sasuke.
