Ok. So I have a headcannon that when Nya was little she would (sometimes) bring home animals that she found on the street. So I decided to write a small story about it.

Kai is five
Nya is three

"Catch, ni-ni!"

Nya raised her arms as she tried to catch the ball being thrown at her. She narrowly missed and threw it back to Kai.

Today was the start of the weakend which meant that Kai and Nya didn't have to go to school (Nya started school two monthes ago) so they decided to go outside and play catch.

Kai threw the ball at Nya. Nya tried to catch it, but the ball flew over her head and landed in a bush.

"Well, now who's gonna get it?" Kai said as he watched the ball land in the bush.

"Wet's do wock, papew, cwam fow it." Nya suggested.

"Okay."

The two of them held out their hands and at the same time said "rock, paper, clam!".

"Ha! You lost, which means that you're gonna have to get it." Kai proudly declared.

"Ugh fiiine." Nya said as she trotted to the bush.

Nya bent down and reached for the ball. She caught it and straightened herself. As soon she turned to leave, She heard a faint "meow", curious, Nya turned around and saw a tiny ginger kitten curled into a little ball.

She gently stroked the kitten who was shaking but still it was letting her stroke it. She called out to Kai who quickly rushed over and showed him the kitten. Kai sighed and said "Nya, we are not going to keep another animal that you found."

"But it's just a baby who can't even wook aftew itsewf."

"Nya-"

"Wook at it! It is so smaw and weak..."

"Nya we can't keep it."

"Okay.... but can we keep it untiw it feews bettew and when it stawtes to feew bettew, we can set it fwee?" Nya asked Kai while giving him her best puppy eyes.

Kai thought for a moment and looked at the kitten, it was true, the kitten looked very weak and in need of medical help. Kai said "fine... but only if mom allows."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Nya repeatedly said as she hugged Kai.

The two of them went home and told their mother what happened who (to Kai's suprise) allowed them to keep the cat as long as it was only for a few days.

The duo went outside, gently picked up the kitten and brought it inside.

*Two days later*

The kitten was starting to get in much better health but it was still not healthy enough to go outside.

Nya had also been bonding with the kitten, it was a little scared at first but it soon started warming up to Nya.

*three days later*

The kitten was starting to like Nya a lot more now and would stay close to her and was also starting to play with her. The kitten also turned out to be a girl so Nya decided to name her "Bluebell" since she saw her playing in a few bluebells that her mother had recently planted in the front yard. But don't worry none of the bluebells were damaged.

*another Two days later*

Bluebell was now in excellent health and was starting to socialize with other family members. Even Kai patted her on the head sometimes and he didn't even like cats!

*one day later*

Today was the day. The day Bluebell would be going back onto the streets. Nya was a little bit upset, She had grown close to Bluebell and she didn't want to abandon her but she knew that she shouldn't be thinking like that, She had kept a promise and she had to full fill it.

Nya and Kai stood outside their school and waited for their parents to come and pick them up (thier parents had decided that they could send blue bell back to where she was found while Nya and Kai were still at school so that they didn't feel bad.)

Nya and Kai saw their father coming towards them with a smile on his face "how was school?" He asked as he hugged Nya and Kai. "It was gweat, I learned the alphabet!" Nya answered.

"That's great."

"Dad, why are you smiling so much? Did something good happen?" Kai asked.

"You'll see when you get home."

Nya and Kai got home and to Nya's delight she saw Bluebell running towards her. She picked her up and stroked her. "I thought you said that you were going to send her back to where we found her!" Kai said as he patted bluebells head.

"Well Nya seemed to like her a lot, Bluebell had gotten very attached to her and you two proved to be very good pet owners, so we decided to keep her." Maya answered as she saw the two playing with the cat.

"This is the best day evew!" Nya said as she continued to play.

Unrelated note:
I also headcannon that whenever Jay finds animals on the streets, he asks nya to help him ask wu wether he can keep them and she always agrees. They still end up being told no though. Sometimes Lloyd also joins them.
