Abandoned

Okay so you all must have read in my announcements that I am going to be turning this from a one-shot book to an actual book basically I won't be taking requests anymore so sorry for inconvenience.

Nya was bored, bored of the conversation her parents were having with doctor Saunders she looked over at Kai. His expression was no different than her's. Dr Saunders was a family friend of theirs and would often visit them. Today was another one of those visits. The adults were having there usual conversation while Kai and Nya sat bored.

"Mom, can we go outside to play?" Kai asked.

"Yes Kai just don't go to far away." Maya said.

The two of them went to the garden and chased a few butterflies after some playing Nya started getting hungry.

"Okay lets go inside." Kai said as he held Nya's hand as they were about enter they noticed something strange: A tray on the floor with a few teacups scattered around it.

"That's weird." Kai said as he picked up the tray "they look as though they were thrown"

"Mabye they dropped it?" Nya said, just as confused as Kai was.

The duo entered the house with a tray full of teacups in there hands and their feeling of uneasiness increased.

The house house was dark and empty and it had a strange sort of abandoned feel in it.

"Mom?" Kai called out "Dad?"

"Meow!"

Bluebell came running running towards the two, Nya held her in her arms. The two if them searched the entire house desperately calling their names.

At last the two checked the forge and found it empty. The fire that always burned was put out taking all of the warmth away and replacing it with a slight cold: something was wrong, they could feel it.

Nya was now very confused "Kai..." She turned to him only to find him sitting on the floor and sobbing. Nya immediately went to him and hugged him, She didn't know what was going on and why Kai was crying but she was knew that Kai was crying because something bad had happened and she had calm him down.

She gently rubbed his back and Kai slowly stopped crying they sat in silence for a while until Nya broke "Kai, Where's mom and dad?"

"Th-there g-gone." Was all he was able to say.

"What do you mean?"

"Th-the're gone, th-the're never coming b-b-back." Kai said as a few more tears trickled down his face.

Nya didn't understand what he meant by 'gone' but she knew it was best to not ask. She hugged her brother again.

-A few days later-

"Did you figure it out yet?" Nya said as she leaned on the counter and looked at horizon. Their parents still hadn't come back yet and they were running out of the things they needed to live, So Kai decided to start blacksmithing so they could earn some money. This was a good idea but there was one problem with it: Kai was only five years old and the closest thing he ever made to a sword was a small, bumpy, pointy piece of metal.

"No." Kai grumbled as he looked at his 'sword'. "Ugh, Dad made it look so easy!" He said.

"Kai look!" Nya said pointing towards a man coming towards their house.

"Maybe he could be a customer!" Kai said as he looked at the man's approaching figure.

"Hello there." The man said as he looked at the two "are your parents here?"

"N-no" Nya said

"What?" The man said with a shocked expression

"O-our parents are not here they are gone." Nya said.

"Wait so your living on your own!" The man said.

"Um yes. Er, are you interested in buying any thing?" Nya asked she was now starting to feel slightly uncomfortable.

The man looked as though he was about to say something but thought better of it.

"Um no thank you, I better be leaving." And with that the man walked away.

-The next day-

Kai woke up to pounding on the door. Grumbling he got up and walked towards the door. He opened and saw a group of people. "Hello young man, we are CPS: Child protection services." One of the men said "This man," he said while gesturing at the same man that came to their shop yesterday "told us that your parents are gone and that you are running this blacksmith shop on your own. Is this true?"

"Y-yes." Kai said. he was confused as to why there were suddenly people at his door asking about his parents at the crack of dawn, So he decided to just tell them the truth.

"Is there anyone else living with you?"

"Y-yes there's my sister but she is asleep."

"Kai, What's going on?" Nya said as she stood in the hallway, rubbing her eyes.

"This is your sister I suppose?" The man questioned.

Kai nodded and Nya stood beside him.

"Do you have any other relations?" The man asked.

"Yes, but why are you asking us these questions?" Kai asked.

"Well I'm afraid that you can not live without an adult as that would be highly dangerous-" the man said but was cut off by Kai.

"Wait, so you're saying that we have to move?!" Kai said, he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Yes, you are going to have to move-"

"I don't want to move!" Kai said "Me and my sister are perfectly fine here! Then why do we have to move?"

"Because you are not old enough to live on your own and-"

"But-"

"He's right Kai, we can't live on our own." Nya said. She was only three years old but she knew perfectly well that wouldn't be able to last long without their parents.

"Fine.... we'll move." Kai said.

"Good now who are your relations?"

-later-

Kai really didn't want to go and live at his aunt and uncles house but he knew that he had to. He and Nya were toddlers after all and wouldn't be able survive by themselves.

"Kai, are you okay?" Kai looked around and saw Nya she had a worried expression on her face "you look really sad."

"It's nothing Nya I just miss mom and dad." Kai responded

"Yes but you're also sad about something else, right?"

Kai didn't respond.

"Are you sad that we're moving?"

Kai slowly nodded.

Nya walked over to him and pulled him into a hug "Kai, it's going to be okay a-and I will always be there for you."

"And I will always be there for you too Nya." Said Kai as he hugged Nya. Maybe things would get better? But Kai highly doubted that.

A bit of an a/n Kai and Nya probably didn't know a lot about CPS so they were most likely to reveal the fact that they were living without adults and of course CPS would get involved. Just wanted to clear that up.

Byeeee.
