[Chapter 8] Amy Takes A Stand

The four sat at the round table in the common room, their heads bent over rolls of parchment, writing Amy's speech. Amy's three eldest sisters, Vera, Isabelle, and Samantha, stood behind them, in front of the book shelf, adding things here and there.

"You know", Pansy began. "Those Muggles may be onto something, using wooden quills-"

"Pencils!" Betsy corrected.

"Yeah, those. With lead instead of ink. And you can erase with them too! If you mess up with a quill, you can't fix it!"

"Kind of like pens, but the ink in built into the pen, and you can't erase it, I mean they have Whiteout, but still". Amy added, not looking up from her parchment.

"I don't understand why people hate Muggles. Think of all the things they have accomplished and created, without magic too!" Vera exclaimed. Isabelle, Samantha, and Adeline, simply nodded in agreement.

"Well, we're going to fix that, since most of the racism is coming from " bad" Slytherins". Amy said as she narrowed her eyes at Draco Malfoy as she saw him doing some homework by the fire. "I could name a few" she said sarcastically "To think I even shared my candy with him".

"Well to be fair, you shared with everyone, including us" Adeline added with a chuckle.

"I guess you're right" Amy said as he leaned back in her chair while massaging her hand after writing for so long.

"It's getting late, we should get to bed" Samantha said while looking at her watch. Six of the seven girls got up and began to walk to their dorms. Amy was the one who stayed.

"You coming?" Betsy asked over her shoulder at her sister.

"No, I want to finish this tonight, you can go to bed if you want" Amy replied with her eyes closed and head tilted up to the ceiling as she leaned back in her chair, still massaging her hand. Betsy just nodded and went up to her dorm.

Amy then opened her eyes and went back to work. She heard shuffling around her work area before feeling a presence next to her. She turned her head to see that the chair to her left was occupied by non other than, Draco Malfoy.

"What do you want Dray?" Amy asked while moving her arm to cover up her speech. It wasn't done yet, and too early for anyone other than Pansy, Adeline, and her sisters to see. The plan that Amy came up with was to give this speech to all the Slythetins. The plan was to use that speech to start their path of redemption.

Draco furrowed his brows at Amy's parchment when he saw her cover it.

"I was wondering what you were working on so hard" he replied softly.

She sat up in her chair and grinned at him "you'll find out soon enough"

"Why can't I see now though" he said as he leaned his side on the back of his chair, while pouting.

Amy then turned her parchment over, so he couldn't see what she wrote, and leaned back to face him "like I said, you'll find out soon. I'm done and I'm going to bed", she said as she got up and began to walk away. When her back was turned, Draco looked down at the turned over parchment on the table, debating watch to snatch it or not.

"And I'm taking this with me" Amy expressed while she snatched the parchment off of the table and walked to her dorm. "Anyways, g'night" she shrugged while waving at him without turning around, leaving Draco in his chair as he starred at her.

                                                     ❤💛💙💚

After a couple of days, and the memorization of Amy's speech, they are ready, tonight's the night. The seven girls stood in front of the fire place, Vera, Isabelle, and Samantha behind them like body guards, and Betsy, Pansy, and Adeline as her right hand women, considering that Betsy was on Amy's left.

"Ok, listen up everyone, this is important!" Adeline exclaimed. No one listened, everyone was too busy doing their own thing. Amy's blood began to boil.

"HEY! YOU LISTEN WHEN WE SPEAK!" Amy shouted. Everyone in the room whipped their heads around to the source of the noise. "Now, you're all probably wondering why we're doing this".

"Yeah! We are!" A third year boy shouted while laughing with his friends. All seven girl's heads quickly turned to him. Amy began to take her hoops off, before Pansy lowered Amy's hands to stop a potential fight.

"Anyways, we have gathered you all here today because l want to make some changes around here. We as Slytherins are constantly being villanized because some of us decide to act like prejudice, rasict jerks!" Almost everyone in the room was called out, and was now avoiding their glare. "And I intend to change that! Just because most of you come from rasict, pureblood families doesn't mean that you have to be like them. You're better than that, I know you are." Amy continued with her hands on her heart. "I want to stick it to those other house prejudices that we're better than that, but we can't do that until you all start acting right!"

"And what will happen if we don't?" Draco asked sarcastically. His eyes widened when he saw Amy, Pansy, and Betsy cracking their knuckles.

"Do you really want to know now?" Amy smiled with false innocence. Turns out she was running a tighter ship than they thought. "Now. By the time I graduate from here, you all will be new people. And I expect that you help me teach our new ways every year to the new crops of first years, even after I leave they will continue to teach my ways to future generations of Slytherins. Changing the reputation of our house, forever. NOW WHAT DO YOU SAY?!" Amy exclaimed as she pumped a fist in the air.

Cheers loud enough to wake up the entire castle came from everyone in the common room. You would have thought that they won the house cup for the eighth year in a row. Everyone celebrated to their new life, starting tomorrow. This was going to be a long year, for everyone.
