Chapter 8

Tom was confused as to why we were running, but I said that we were running from Peeves. He accepted that, but asked that we stop running. So we walked to breakfast, which had just started. It was good, as always. I had Potions first again. I wander back to the Potions classroom, already dreading the class. We had to make a potion of our choice. He paired me with the Mudblood. She tried to take charge right away. Thankfully, she seemed to not want to work with me just as much as I didn't want to work with her. She even had the nerve to ask Snape if we could work separately, and he said yes. That was very odd, but I decided not to question it. I made a comfort potion. It was supposed to calm you down and comfort you if something was wrong. I know that it works, as I have used it before.  When Snape examined my cauldron, he nodded thoughtfully, though to most, it just looked like a grim nod. "You pass." Was all that he said, but to me, that meant a whole lot more than to any one else in the room. That meant that our relationship was getting much better. I looked around. Nobody else had made a potion like mine, all of the others were very easy potions to do. I was proud of the work that I had made in class. 

The rest of the day was uneventful. Whenever we did anything, Granger and I were always the first to get it done. Then it was time to relax in the common room. I was stopped before I could go in though. Snape brought me to his office. I was scared, but he put his wand by the door and asked me to put mine next to his. I did, but I was alright with that. He sat down and motioned for me to do the same thing. I obeyed quickly. I waited for him to talk first. "Well, you didn't get in another fight yet.  You still have detention tonight, don't forget that." I nodded. "Yes, sir, I remember that." "Good. I will see you tonight then." I nodded again. "Yes sir." We sat there for another minute, then it started to get a little bit awkward. He got up suddenly, and I jumped up and away. He sighed. "I won't hurt you, not here at Hogwarts at least. I don't have my wand with me, you know that. Even if I did, I wouldn't hurt you here." "Why?" I was mad, but also relieved. "Because. I won't." I thought of something. 

"You're scared of Professor Dumbledore, aren't you. That's why you won't hurt me here at Hogwarts. You're scared of him, and you're scared that I will tell people that you used an illegal curse on me. You are scared that you could be fired because of that. You're scared that the Dark Lord will come back and he will kill you for some reason. You're just a coward, scared of everything, aren't you?" I ranted. I have no idea where that came from. He looked so mad, more than I had ever seen him before. I was going to die. Even if he doesn't have his wand, he could still kill me. And he looks like he will.

"DON"T CALL ME A COWARD!! You have no idea the things that I have done, so don't you dare call me a coward! You are the coward, flinching at every move that I make. You are weak, you squib, weak, pathetic, useless, a nobody. I told her I would watch after you, but you are nothing, and she was everything. You think that you can fill her place, you can't. You are nothing, squib." He had me pinned up against the wall, his eyes full of hate, anger, and something else. I couldn't make it out. I was terrified. He might not have his wand, but I didn't either. He threw we to the ground, and I deserved what was coming next, I really did. I had yelled at him, and I deserved to be punished for it. I closed my eyes and waited for it to end. I deserved everything that was happening and going to happen. I didn't hear the door open, and neither did he. He was in the middle of punishing me, and was kicking me. I saw someone behind him, and tried to say "It's my fault, I deserved this, I asked for it.", but it sounded like this. "It's my fut, Ih desv s, Ih skd f ih." Then I blacked out.
