Chapter 6

When we arrived at Dumbledore's office, Snape knocked on the door. "Come in, Severus." Dumbledore called. He marched me in. My arm hurts, but I don't dare say anything. Professor Dumbledore sighed. "What now? Severus, you can let her go." He did, throwing me to the side. I somehow managed to stay upright. "I have reason to believe that she got in another fight today. This is the second day in a row, two days into the year. We need to put a stop to this." "And what would you recommend?" Professor Snape answered immediately. "Expulsion. She can't stay here if she is going to keep breaking the rules." I looked at the floor, knowing that I was going to be back to living on the streets. 

"No Severus. We will not be expelling her tonight. However, I do believe that a detention will be in order. Do you agree Severus?" He nodded. I couldn't believe my ears. I wasn't leaving. I didn't care that I would be getting a detention. They both turned to me. I shrunk down, their gazes scared me. Especially Snape's. Snape talked first. "How about all month, every night, you come to my office at 8." I nodded my head. Dumbledore waved his hand, dismissing me. I hurried back to the common room.

I went to my corner again, and promptly fell asleep. Nobody woke me up until morning, when people started waking up and coming into the common room. "Oi, Ivy! What are you doing out here?" It was Tom. I smiled sheepishly. "I guess I must have fallen asleep. And why are you up so early?" He pulled me up gently. "I like getting up early. You should sleep in your room tonight. And every other night. Alright?" I nod. "We might as well head towards breakfast. It won't start for a while, but we can take our time going there, right?" I nod again.

So we start walking to the Great Hall. He stops next to the Potions classroom. "What are you doing?" He sighed. "You need to face Snape." What! I had removed that memory, right? He smiled as if he could read my mind. "You really need to work on your memory charms." My memory charm didn't work?! So I need to work on that. But I have much more pressing matters. He was bringing me to Snape! I had trusted him, almost considered him a friend. But now, I just can't. He betrayed me. Tom knocked on the door to Snape's office. I want to run, just hit him and run as fast and as far as I can. But before I can do anything, Snape opened the door.
