Chapter 22

Lunch was fine. Tomorrow, the people who left would be coming back, and that meant the Pride was back too. I decided to ignore that until they got here. I have to talk with McGonagall before then too. So I went back to her office. 

I knocked on the door. She came to open it, and Dumbledore was not in there anymore either. I spoke first this time. "I just wanted to say thank you for earlier. I also had a few questions on animagi and how to become one and things like that. It is for an essay for Professor Snape. May I come in?" 

She smiled. "You are always welcome here. Come sit. Would you like anything, or just information?" She asked. "Just information please." I said as I sat down again. 

She nodded. "Alright. So, to become an animagus, you must do a spell, which I cannot tell you, for obvious reasons, and you would have to hold a mandrake leaf in your mouth for a month, as well as take a certain potion with that leaf in it. The hardest part though, is the first actual transformation. Different people have different ways of doing it, but the best and easiest way is to have a rush of emotion that you might not have had before, as it activates the magic. After the first transformation, it is easy to turn back, and to do it again. However, there are some downsides. You can not choose what animal is your animagus, and in your animagus form, you can be recognized. And, you would also have to register with the Ministry. If you don't, then you could end up in Azkaban. All in all, it is a very dangerous procedure, and I would not recommend it unless you might have a very good reason, such as the Pride. And if you have any more questions, or if Professor Snape has any, or if you just want to talk, feel free to come in here. It is also a safe haven from the Pride, so if you need to get away, say you have an appointment with me. I think I have to meet the headmaster and the other teachers for a meeting before school starts again, so I have to go now. I think you should be as well. Good day, Ivy."

 And with that, we left, each to our own destinations.
