Chapter 11

When I woke up, everything was white. And my chest hurt. A lot. It was very hard to breath. But I could breathe, and that meant that I was alive. I could move, thankfully. I looked to my left. Nobody was there. Then I looked to my right. I saw an imposing figure wearing black. Professor Snape. I panicked. Again. Then I looked again and saw Dumbledore. If anything happened, he would stop it. Snape spoke first. "Are you alright, Henderson?" I nodded. "Yes sir, I am. Is your predicament better, sir?" He looked down at me. "Yes, it is." Then Dumbledore spoke to him. "I think that thanks are in order, Severus." Snape sighed. "Yes, I suppose so. Thank you for talking to Professor Dumbledore." "Of course sir." I nodded. Then he left Dumbledore and me alone.

"Sir..." I started. "What is it?" He smiled. "Well, I have two questions. The first one is: How did I get here, and the second one is: What day is it?" He thought for a moment. "The second one is easier. You were out for four days, and it is suppertime. The first one is a bit harder. You were in the Black Lake, and you couldn't swim. Then a merman grabbed you and pulled you under. You were drowning. Then he brought you back up to the surface and brought you to the beach. Then he alerted a student and the student ran and got a teacher. Then you were brought here. I don't know why he brought you back, as they normally drown their victims. Any other questions?" I nodded. "Yes. How long do I have to be here?" He laughed. "As long as it takes Madam Pomfrey to get you better. You will listen to her." I nodded. "Yes, sir, I will. Thank you." He smiled and left for supper.

I was released two long days later. Nobody came to visit except Dumbledore. It got very boring, and I was happy to get out of there. Of course, who should I run into but Harry Potter and his gang. I sighed. "I just got out of the Hospital Wing. Let me through." I had to get to the Common Room. He just sneered. "You think that I care, Weed. I don't. Where you off too? You going to go cry in your little bed? Or tell on me? If you do, you will regret it, Weed. "  I steeled myself. "I am going to do neither. I just want to go to my Common Room. Let me through." He laughed at me. "Oh yeah, you're a slimy snake. Can't trust you behind me. Guess I'll just have to walk you to your room. March." I took a deep breath and started walking to the common room. It was hard not to run, with all those lions behind me. But if I ran, they would shoot me down before I could make it 3 steps. I made it back to the Potions classroom without getting in trouble. Now I just need to get away from them.

I stopped walking. "I need to talk to Professor Snape. I need to get the information on the things that I missed when I was in the Hospital Wing. Goodbye." And I hurried into the classroom, leaving them mad. I looked around. It didn't look like Snape was in here, but you never can tell. I waited a few minutes until I heard them give up and leave. I was about to leave when the door opened hard. I fell to the ground, and saw Snape. "What are you doing in here?" He asked. I got up. "Sorry sir, I was just...um...nevermind." He sighed. "Here, you missed this. I would recommend looking it over before class tomorrow." "Yes sir, I will. Thank you sir." He nodded in response. Then I hurried out, careful to keep quiet and making sure that I wasn't being followed.

I felt better when I made it into the safety of the common room. I went back to my corner and started looking at my homework for Potions. It was not hard at all and I got it done quickly. Then I fell asleep. Again.

I was woken up by Tom, who was shaking me awake. "Ivy, someone wants to see you. He is outside." If it is a student, then I am not going out. "Who is it?" I asked him. "Professor Dumbledore. You should go." I nodded. "Thank you Tom, I appreciate it." "No problem, now go." He laughed. I left quickly, not bothering that I was a mess from sleeping. 

"Yes sir?" I asked. "I need you to come to my office with me. Professors Snape and McGonagall will be there too." He explained. "Yes sir." I followed him up. It took a while to get there, but neither one of us started a conversation. When we arrived, the other teachers were already there. Professor McGonagall spoke first. "We were wondering how you got to the middle of the lake if you couldn't swim. Perhaps you can enlighten us?" If I told them, then I would just be in more trouble. "I...I...I can't." She sighed. "Alright then, but if you need help with anything, you can let us know, and we can help. All of us can." She must have seen my disbelief and knew it for what it was. She laughed. "Even Professor Snape. He will help if I force him to or not. Yes, I know that you are right here, Severus. I don't care." Snape almost smiled, for him at least. "Professor Dumbledore, I would like to inform you of a case of bullying." Dumbledore smiled. "Who?" "Minerva McGonagall. She is bullying me, sir. I would like to request assistance." Dumbledore and McGonagall both started laughing. Snape smirked. I did too. It was really funny. "Very well, I will help you, Severus. Minerva, go be a cat and leave him alone." So she turned into a cat and walked out, purposely brushing into me and Professor Snape. His black robes were covered in cat hair now. I almost laughed.

"Is there anything else, sir?" I asked Dumbledore. He calmed down. "No, I think that that is it. Thank you for cooperating with us." I nodded. "Of course sir, anytime." And then I left.
