Let me start off by telling you all how this familiar thing is gonna work because I decided to keep this book in third person from now on and my version of familiars tend to confuse people, hence why I only ever used it in one book and in this book as well.

I'm explaining this because well...I ain't gonna explain it very much in the book and this is also for my use to refer back to..

And feel free to use this method for your stories as well if you like it, I don't mind at all.

So there is Mind Link, Memory Jumping, Sensory Link, Copying, and Magic Influence..

Mind Link:
Okay so if you ever read Corrupted Royalty it is basically the same as the link between Amarisa and Seto. They can read each others thoughts, Nova can do a bit more because of the fact she was the one Seto did the spell on in Ch. Sixteen.

Italics is usually what I use for thoughts, well if there are words that are italicized, it would be a thought to either Seto or Nova. But it could be also what an individual character is thinking, so I would usually follow the thought with; Seto thought to Nova or Nova to Seto. Or something like that..

I'm tempted to not say a word about this, but I will. Most of you might think that last chapter was just a glimpse into Seto's past because I didn't have a chapter ready....well you are half right..While Seto cannot do this yet because his magic isn't as strong as it use to be yet! Nova can, Memory Jumping is what I call it.

Memory Jump:
The ability for a Familiar to jump through their witch or wizard's memories, only and only if, the person is fast asleep. And you guys wondered why Nova was so protective of Seto in Chapter Seveteen.

Until Seto's magic is back to normal, he'll be able to do this, but for now..only Nova can do it to Seto. But the catch is that if she does do a memory jump, Seto's dream will be of that memory that Nova is seeing and she can access any memory that Seto can recall having but not ones that Seto cannot.

Like this, imagine you or someone had proposed to either you or you to someone else, you would remember that for years because it was a big impact on your life or a total embarrassment for someone else if you said no...that's depressing...Nova can see that because Seto can recall it.

Now what Seto couldn't recall for example is what he had for breakfast on this day of last year...unless you can than what the heck is wrong with you? Why do you remember that? Nova can't see that because he can't recall it.

Sensory Link:
I have seen this done before, but I'm gonna make my own version that doesn't involve feeling eagh other's pain. They can't feel their pain because I would automatically forget that they can and it would be annoying for me to write that. I mean..do you know how annoying it got for me to write out Seto's stuttering at the beginning of this story? It got very annoying and very time consuming....we are all glad that he has gotten over it..

But anyway, my version is that they can sense each other's emotions like Stephanie can with everyone. But Seto's sense on Nova isn't very noticeable as Nova's is on Seto. Basically I'm adding upgrades to a giant wolf that have healing saliva and an extra strong bite...She's already powerful....

Nova can sense Seto's emotions and can get an read on where he is because of this link. Seto cannot because well..he's a human..we are full of emotions of our own that suddenly being able to sense someone's elses would be too much. Well Nova is an Abyssal Beast, and you guys will soon learn more about what Abyssal Beasts are..

Human emotions like this are new to her...hence why she couldn't fully understand why Seto wasn't responding after he was hung..and for those of you confused as to how he survived that, Wag said that Seto's neck didn't break leading everyone to assume that Seto died from strangulation. His neck didn't break, so he wouldn't die from being hung. And to be completely honest, if Seto was hung...would you leave him there? No..No one would because well...he's Seto! Come on, Seto is adorable and nice, which is way I made him pass out when the executer pulled the lever to take out the floor under Seto's feet...I couldn't bring myself to write Seto struggling to breath during an execution for which he did nothing wrong to deserve..

Well anyway back to familiars..

She can tell what he is feeling, but she cannot feel it herself. She can tell when Seto is sad, mad, happy, and much more....while Seto can only feel a few things from Nova like rage, sadness or happiness.

Nova can also feel his pain, with his blight problem currently, just imagine..

Copying:
No..not Seto nor Nova will start making copies of themselves..although that would be cool. Imagine 50 giant wolves all attacking you because you had hurt Seto...

This is about both Seto and Nova, their personality..

Let me explain this using the characters from Corrupted Royalty; Seto and his familiar, Amarisa. Did you notice that Amarisa acted like Seto as the story processed or Seto acted like Amarisa at times? Seto turned pretty sarcastic towards other characters like Amarisa is towards him. While Amarisa treats Seto like he is her little kitten since Amarisa is a cat? Seto is always automatically the nice and shy character because it fits him, Amarisa was suppose to be the sarcastic smart-ass with an attitude. Plus my readers of that book named Amarisa the comic-relief..

They both affected each other with their traits causing Seto to get an sometimes funny, attitude towards other characters like Amarisa while keeping his kind and shy guy personality. For Amarisa, she became protective of Seto like Nova is in The Slave. She became more trusting of people, but only to people that Seto has a good relationship with or doesn't threaten him. Hence why Amarisa was accepting if Jackson, a complete stranger, simply because well..Seto had a crush on her and Amarisa loved teasing Seto about it. She kept her personality while gaining some traits from being with Seto for so long and being able to hear his thoughts and hold an conversation in their heads without Seto saying anything. That's how I see it with Nova and Seto.

Seto in The Slave seems to have only negative traits for now, like depression and such..but think about the hell he has beeb through that has turned him into that. Nova isn't a very developed character to be able to tell her traits other than she is overprotective of Seto's well being, not as much as I want her to be, which is why I wanted this familiar thing to happen. Amarisa became people's favorite because she was developed in ways that I couldn't do for Nova since Seto and her weren't connected like Amarisa and him are.

And also because Amarisa is a smart ass and loves teasing Seto, especially about his crush on Jackson because he will either get embarrassed or get mad. We all love those characters...

Magic Influence:
Like Amarisa..I think...Nova will be able to access Seto's magic. But she's limited in what to use but she will shave off Seto's mana as well. She can only do spells that will benefit her and just imagine what spells those are for a wolf that can break an iron chain in her mouth already without any help because she wanted to free Seto...

But I'm not sure if I will do Magic with her or not, but I will put it out there just in case I do decide to do it..

Anyway guys, that's it for now. I might add some things here and there. But if that were to happen, I would move this chapter's position to the latest so you won't have to search for it.

So how do you guys think Nova should act? Should she be like Amarisa? I mean, I loved writing Amarisa...she's one of my favorite characters I made..

But of course..Nova could be Jazmine like you all are theorizing currently....and you answer to that question may or may not be answered next chapter, depends on how well you look between the lines...and that doesn't mean that she is, she might not be and she might be..again..it depends..
