Chapter 3

A/N I forgot to say this on the last chapter, I have FanFictongirl to thank for the cover for this book so Thank you FanFictongirl. Now the last thing I'm going to say is a question for all of you. Would you be interested in reading a peyna story if I did one? I'm working on the first chapter of one but I haven't posted it to wattpad yet.

Now for the chapter.

Percy's point of view

Weeks passed as we tried to find out more about the sea deities, and whoever was trying to escape Tartarus, they hadn't succeeded yet but that doesn't mean that they won't. one day about a month after I first sensed them I found I could no longer sense the other sea deities. This meant that they must have left the sea and gone on land somewhere. Once again I discussed it with my dad and Andrew, we were still going to keep our eyes open for them in case they returned since we still didn't know whether they were enemies or allies.

That night though something rather unexpected happened. Up until that night, I hadn't had any dreams since I became a god, but that night was different. Since gods don't normally have dreams I was rather surprised, but then again Ares had mentioned having dreams when we were on the beach in Santa Monica during my first quest so I guess it happens occasionally. What I saw was a group of people seated around a table five seats remained empty as if the people that would normally be seated there were absent for some reason.

I couldn't tell who any of them were, but I knew that this was no mortal meeting. Then it clicked, I realized that I had to be seeing what remained of the primordial council. One of the female primordials spoke up, she said, "What is the point of even attempting this? Four times attempts were made to unseat the Olympians four times they prevailed. I don't see the point in making another attempt."

One of the male primordials said, "Oh but sister, the plans for those attempts were heavily flawed and doomed to fail, I have come up with a plan that will no doubt succeed. Besides sister, did I not hear that you have a grudge against Perseus Jackson? I would think that you would want to help us in order to take him down yourself."

My first thought after he said that was Crap, I knew her voice had sounded familiar. That was Nyx, and apparently, she hadn't gotten over the fact that Annabeth and I had gotten away from her when we were in Tartarus. One of the Male Primordials said, "Brother why should we believe that your plan will work any better than the others?"

The other Primordial replied, "Because I know of a way to distract the Olympians so we can destroy them at their roots. If their mortal Children try to stop us then we will just kill them all. We will reveal our distraction on the Thirteenth of November, we will attack the roots of the gods on the twentieth"

When the other Primordials seemed to be considering his words I couldn't help but think of several different curse words that I knew. Depending on how many Primordials agreed to the plan and decided to join the war against us we would be in big trouble. Defeating one Primordial during a war was hard enough, defeating more than one would be what we call a problem. I didn't like the sound of the distraction that they spoke of either. What would they do to distract us so we couldn't help our children? Just after the primordial's last statement, I jerked awake, My sudden movement must have woken Amber because she opened her eyes and asked, "What's wrong?"

I replied, "I had a dream, and not a good one either. I'll explain more in the morning go back to sleep."

Despite the fact that she looked a bit worried, she did what I asked. I tried to do the same without much luck. I laid there awake for a while still thinking about the fact that a new war would be coming in a matter of weeks. As I laid there a really random thought occurred to me. although I doubted that they had planned it that way the Primordials would be attacking Greece on Luke's birthday.

I was still awake when Amber woke up in the morning. When she saw me awake she asked me, "Did you get back to sleep?"

Since I didn't feel like lying to her I admitted that I hadn't.

She asked, "What was your dream about?"

I replied, "I'm going to call a meeting, I'll explain there."

She nodded understanding and gave me a quick kiss before getting up and getting ready.

After I did the same we went to the throne room and summoned the rest of the council. After they all arrived Apollo asked, "why'd you call a meeting cuz?"

I replied, "I called the meeting because I now know that the next war is coming much sooner than we expected, and I'm assuming that the prophecy that Rachel recited five years ago is related to it."

"How do you know that?" Athena asked me.

I explained what I had seen and several of them paled dramatically.

"What are we going to do? And what is the distraction they were talking about?" Hermes asked.

I replied, "I honestly don't know. I didn't hear them explain that. As for what we can do, I guess we can make sure that none of the minor gods are going to turn on us, and that the demigods are well trained. I wish they didn't have to help us but we have no other choice. Whatever the distraction is, we can only hope that we can deal with it quickly enough so we can help our children. After all, we have no idea how many of the primordials are going to participate in this war."

We continued discussing what we should do, but just as I was about to end the meeting one god and two goddesses appeared in the middle of the throne room. Once they appeared several of the other Olympians reached for their weapons. Once my dad told me who the three were I understood why. But instead of doing the same I said, "Why have you come here? If the others sent you to try and convince us to surrender you are wasting our time and your own because we won't no matter what you say."

Thalessa, The primordial goddess of the sea spoke up. She said, "We aren't here to ask for your surrender, we are here to help you. You cannot take on my father, aunts and uncles yourselves. If you tried your losses would be far too great."

"How do we know we can trust you?" I asked cautiously

Technically I might have been able to use my powers over loyalty to determine if what they said was the truth, but I don't really like using those powers since they are technically an invasion of privacy. That and the fact that I wanted to hear what she would say was why I didn't immediately try to use my powers.

She replied, "One reason why is because I was the one who allowed you to witness our meeting since I disagree with what the others are planning. If that isn't enough for you I swear on the river Styx that we will help you in this war, and won't betray you."

She really didn't have to swear on the Styx since just before she did I tried to use my powers on the three. Although I couldn't find out as much as I normally could I found out enough to know that we could trust them. I said, " What are your fellow primordials planning? What is the distraction that they are going to use against us?"

So after that Thalessa, Hemara, and Aether revealed what the other primordials were planning. They told us that we would be up against Pontus, Hydros, Nyx, and Erebus. I realized that the unknown sea deities must have been Pontus, and Hydros. We still didn't know who was trying to escape Tartarus, but we do know some of what we are up against and it didn't sound good at all.

Hopefully, the three primordials on our side would be enough to tip the scales, but we won't really know until we are on the field of battle. I couldn't help but remember the prophecy and wonder what it all meant. All I knew was that no matter what happened I would do what I could to make sure that Luke makes it through.

I know he is a good fighter, but even the best fighters can fall if they make a mistake or get caught by surprise. I honestly wish we could leave our children out of this war and deal with it ourselves but I know that we need them despite how powerful we are.

After we found out what we were up against we were all uneasy despite the fact that we have three primordials on our side. After all, there will be four of them against us as well as all the monsters that they have gathered against us. The one upside to this war is that no demigods have been turned against us. So we won't have to harm any demigods. But before we worry about helping our children with the primordial's armies we would have to deal with the distraction.

I only hope that we can make it through this war without too many deaths, but unfortunately, I know that when there's war there's casualties, so I doubt that everyone will come out unscathed especially since this will probably be the hardest war we have faced yet.
