Chapter 12

Percy's point of view

After I realized that the others were most likely in the middle of the battle against the primordials' army possibly even facing the primordials themselves I opened my eyes more slowly this time and slowly got into a sitting position. I groaned slightly as I rose since the injuries I had acquired from the fall were not completely healed. I knew that if Amber or my parents were here right now they would want me to stay out of the battle and let myself recover completely but they weren't here so I wasn't going to sit this out while people I cared about were in danger.

I just happened to glance to my left and I realized that Blackjack and porkpie were standing beside me. "Are you all right Boss?" Blackjack asked me.

I replied, "Yeah I'm not completely healed, but I'll be fine. Are either of you hurt?"

They said that they weren't. Apparently, they'd managed to get control again and go back to flying instead of falling. By then I'd already lost my grip on the chariot and was plummeting toward the ground. They'd tried to catch me but I hit the ground before they could manage it.

I told blackjack and porkpie to head back to Olympus and get some rest, I'm sure they needed it after everything that happened. I also sent my chariot back, I probably wasn't going to need it for a while. I rose to my feet and headed to where I knew the battle would be taking place. My arrival didn't go unnoticed since both enemies and allies looked in my direction to see who the new arrival was. Just as I was about to join the fray I saw Apollo running toward me and he looked rather worried. Growing worried myself, and slightly curious about what had happened I started walking toward him to find out what had happened. Once we were close enough to talk I asked, "What's wrong?"

Hurriedly Apollo said, "It's Piper, she was fighting Kampe and she fell for a feint. Kampe stabbed her,"

, "Did she have to reform?" I asked, concerned for her and also for Jason.

Apollo replied, "Surprisingly, not yet, but I'm afraid that she won't last much longer, I need your help."

"What do you want me to do?" I asked a bit unsure of what he wanted.

He replied, "I don't have an antidote for the poison, if you don't help me she will either have to reform or fade."

I was pretty sure I knew what he wanted me to do but there was still the possibility that when we go to help her she might have already gone to reform I hoped she could hang on though because if she didn't I had a pretty good idea of how Jason would feel once he hears about it. And honestly, I didn't want one of my best friends to go through that.

since everyone else was focused on the ongoing battle we teleported to Apollo's infirmary in his palace. The demigods were safe since they were focused on the battle, and it wouldn't be a big deal if we fried a few monsters since they would be killed sooner or later anyway. When we arrived at Apollo's palace we hurried toward where he had left Piper.

I was concerned for her obviously since I had faced Kampe once and if Chiron and Briaries hadn't stepped in she probably would have killed me and Annabeth. I knew that she would be a tough enemy to beat whether you were a god or not. I knew that saving Piper shouldn't be too difficult for me but we don't even know if she's still there since we knew her condition wasn't good.

she may very well have gone to reform already.

I followed Apollo as he walked into the room and toward one of the beds at the back of the room. "She's still here," Apollo said as he reached the side of her bed sounding slightly surprised.

As I reached Apollo's side I looked at Piper's almost completely motionless form. If it wasn't for the bandages covering the large wound in her stomach you would almost think she was asleep.

Apollo spoke up saying, "When I got to her she wasn't breathing since she had gotten quite weak from loss of ichor and the poison, but I managed to get her breathing again."

I'm no healing expert by any means but since I am the god of time I can sometimes heal injuries that would normally be deadly by reversing time on them. That was what I would try and do for Piper. I said, "We have to remove the bandages,"

"what!" Apollo yelled, "I gave her Ambrosia and Nectar but I doubt her wound has closed yet she might start bleeding again."

I replied, "we have to risk it Since you don't have an antidote to the poison we have to get it out of her if she's going to make it and I have to be able to see what I'm dealing with. Not only that but there is a battle that we should be a part of so we have to do this now!" I was getting slightly annoyed since him delaying the process was making Piper's already low chances even lower and preventing us from helping in the battle.

He gave in, waved his hand and I saw how badly hurt Piper really was, and when the bandages were removed her wound had started bleeding again so I got to work. Holding a hand above her wound I reversed time on it and the poison slowly came out of her system and her wound closed up.

I discarded the poison and before long Piper had returned to consciousness. Once Piper got her bearings she gave us questioning looks. Speaking first I said, "Apollo didn't have an antidote to Kampe's poison so he had to get my help or you would have had to reform,"

Piper simply nodded while Apollo shot me a halfhearted glare. Guess he didn't like admitting that he'd needed help. We were pretty good friends but that would still be a slight blow to his pride. Knowing full well that she probably wouldn't listen I said, "you probably should sit out the rest of the battle you're still weakened from trying to fight off the poison and the fight with Kampe,"

"Yes Doctor Jackson," she said, rolling her eyes. "You can't exactly stop me,"

I don't really use my last name anymore, but sometimes the other gods or my family and friends use it when they're annoyed with me or teasing me."Sure I can," I said before making straps bind her to the bed, they wouldn't hurt her but even if they could, she didn't bother moving around to try and get out of them.

instead, she just yelled, "Perseus Jackson I don't care that you're the king of the gods let me out of these or I'll make you do it!"

somewhat reluctantly I freed her, while I didn't really want her to get hurt again I was mostly just  amused since I was mostly  just messing with her. But in reality, even if I wasn't messing with her I knew her powers worked on me so she could have made me free her. She stood up summoned armor and Katoptris before saying, "I'll deal with you later,"

After that statement, she left headed for the battle. I was about to follow her when Apollo said, "You know Cuz you were kind of being a hypocrite there, I can tell you aren't fully healed,"

Shooting him a glare. I said, "are you going to try and stop me Apollo?"

I could tell he tried not to but he flinched at my glare and replied, "I would but I know there's no point in arguing with you about it,"

"You've got that right," I said before heading back to the battle. I could have easily frozen him to the spot with time and only freed him when I was far enough away from him that he wouldn't be able to stop me from going. I think Apollo had finally learned not to annoy me since when he does it usually ends with him being frozen in time.

I ended up appearing near my dad and Amber. They spotted me and Amber shot me a look that told me she'd have something to say to me later. I didn't think about it much but at least she was okay. I hoped Luke was as well but I couldn't see him right now since he was back with the other demigods, for that matter I couldn't see the twins either but I guessed they were probably fine. I don't know if Piper will tell Jason what happened to her but at least we'd managed to save her.

As I fought, cutting down monsters like they were little more than a piece of cardboard, I couldn't help but worry about Luke and the other demigods, as gods we are stronger and more powerful making it easier for us to take on the more powerful monsters, the demigods, on the other hand, were still mortal, meaning they were easier to kill.

Jason and a few others were exceptions since they had been given full immortality but even the partial immortal demigods could still be killed in battle. While the demigods were well trained, they had limits and once they got tired they could make mistakes and mistakes lead to the sounds that I heard far too often as I fought, the sound of pained screams of demigods who had just been hurt.

I'm not saying that none of the gods got hurt, heck Piper had nearly gone to Tartarus, but for the most part, as we fought the monsters we stayed mostly unscathed, monsters only landing lucky hits occasionally. The Primordials may have the advantage of numbers but we will get through this and win the war no matter what it takes especially since we have primordials on our side too, and they were going through the ranks of monsters with even more ease than me and the other Olympians.

A/N Well that's the next chapter, but just because I decided to keep Piper around doesn't mean that no-one's going to die. I just haven't quite decided who yet.
