the night is quiet and the air is still.
my mind wanders to your celestial
eyes that burn feverishly in the
back of my mind, and i cannot help
but feel an emptiness in my heart.
my love, you are my wishing star.
i gaze upon the night skies and hope
to see you hiding behind the clouds,
ducking behind each swirl of silver,
but nevertheless, waiting.
behind the moonlight, the cosmos
watches me wait in the dark,
head tilted to the heavens.
there is a bitter aftertaste that lingers
on my tongue as i wonder how cruel the universe could be to keep my dazzling
love away from me.
