Chapter 40 - Found

Isabella's P.O.V.

Elina took off in a direction, leaving us all to follow. These people were lucky that she did not use her white wolf speed. They do not yet know about that, and that is the way I would like to keep things. I was ahead next to Elina when she told me,

"Down. Must go down." Apparently, her wolf wasn't that interested in communicating with complete sentences. I sigh and look around for an entrance to the hidden lair. That sounds so dramatic while in reality, the entrance was poorly hidden. There was a car parked that was actually attached to the ground. It was easy to see and it even had a ladder to go down. Elina jumps down half-shifted. I am in no place to judge her because I went crazier last time someone hurt something I held dear. I follow her down quickly. I tell her,

"Slow down. If we find Alex, it will be easier to kill everyone with back up who you are currently leaving behind." Elina looked annoyed, but nodded. We stopped to let the others catch up. When they did, a warrior, called Scott I think, said,

"Thanks for waiting!" His tone was a little sarcastic, but I let the disrespect pass. Instead, I start walking with Elina. Soon enough, we run into rogues. I say,

"Don't kill him! We want to be able to question them." Scott nods and quickly knocks a rogue out. The others put up a fight, but we outnumbered them. I left behind two warriors to watch over the six prisoners. They were tied up, so it shouldn't be too difficult a job for them. The rest of us continued on and didn't come across more rogues. That meant not a lot survived my attack. Good for me! Elina started to get excited and yelled,

"Alex!" Somewhere close, I heard,

"Elina!" She took off full speed and broke down the door to a cell. I sighed because she used white wolf speed. I looked at the warriors who were confused and commented,

"Mated to an Alpha comes with many benefits." They accept my statement with no question. We really have to figure something else. Eventually, someone was going to ask questions. A minute later, Alex and Elina come out of the cell. He is in fine shape. I ask anyway to make sure,

"You good?" He nods at me and I mind-link our warriors who are with the captured rogues,

"Bring them to our location!" One of them answers,

"Yes, Luna Isabella." I motion for the others to follow me into a big cell. A minute or two later, I see our two warriors forcing the six prisoners to walk. They are obviously very afraid. They probably survived by hiding away from the fight and wanted Alex to be welcomed back into their Boss' protection. Pathetic! Scott, the warrior, helps put the rogues each into a cell. Elina is now fussing over Alex' injuries. Just a concussion and maybe a broken rib. Not bad, considering the situation. I tell the others,

"Each one of you stay with a rogue. Understood?" Everyone nods. I go to the first rogue. I punch him in the face to wake him up. He is one of the ones we knocked out. He jumps up and tries to hit back. The chains hold him back. I see the anger in his eyes turn to fear when he realizes his situation. I order,

"Tell me your name, rogue." He replies quickly,

"James, Luna Isabella."

"How do you know my name and who is responsible for this?"

"Boss, Luna." I am annoyed at his answer and kick him in the ribs.

"Who is Boss?"

"I don't know, I swear, Luna." I believe him because if he knew, he would be spilling his guts to me right now.

"Scott, knock him out and deal with him while I continue." I mind-link Carson,

"Carson, I need you to send more warriors to my location." He is immediately worried and asks,

"What's wrong? What's happened? I knew I shouldn't have let you go alone." I chuckle.

"Everything is fine. We just captured some rogues that I need transported back to base."

"Oh okay. Consider it done, Izzy." I cut off the connection and walk into another cell. This rogue is already telling his guard all he knows while I watch amused,

"My name is Nicolas. We all follow the Boss. Only a special few know who he is. I know that he is an Alpha because everyone feels his power. Though he is less powerful than the bloodthirsty Alphas." He continues for a while and I leave. Nicolas doesn't know the identity of the person who tried to kill Elina. The next three rogues do not know either. They are all low level. I sigh, there is only one left who probably knows nothing either. I walk into his cell and order,

"Tell me your name and purpose, rogue." No answer. I am now intrigued by him. He is afraid of me, but is not saying anything like he knew something that the others did not know. I approach him and punch him in the stomach. I tell him,

"Answer me when I talk to you." Suddenly, I have this bad feeling in my stomach, a feeling of impending doom. Shit, shit, and shit! That cannot be good. I only have six warriors because I sent Elina and Alex back to base. Carson's warriors have not arrived yet. This is the perfect moment for an ambush. Forgetting the rogue momentarily, I turn around and warn the warriors,

"Ambush!" The rogue's eyes widen in surprise, confirming my theory. I rush into the hall way with the warriors, just in time to see about sixty rogues. I am still halfway injured from my last fight. I attempt to contact Belle, my wolf,

"Belle, I need you." She sluggishly answered,

"Can't, still healing from killing over three hundred rogues." I sigh. I guess I will have to do it on my own. I try to mind-link Carson, but it is blocked. At least, I have the warriors Carson has already sent and eventually he will figure out something is wrong. I get into attack position as the rogues untie their compatriots. One of them lunges at the nearest warrior and all hell breaks loose.

I punch, kick, and dodge. It was an uneven fight, one that we had no hopes of winning unless extra reinforcements arrived. Shit! Our mind-links are blocked and until I get a fatal wound, no one will realize. I've accepted my fate, but I will take the most down with me. My count was seven which was pretty good, all things considering. I look up at my next opponent. He had a crazed look in his eyes. This means that he is no longer anything but crazy. I get the first punch in his stomach, but he takes it and throws a quick jab into my leg. I fall and roll away from him. He goes after me, he wasn't giving up. He pulls out a knife out of nowhere. Shit, shit and shittier! I try to move to run, but he pins me down. I was tired from my injuries and fighting. There was no way to escape. He raised his sword up to deliver the final blow. I close my eyes to wait for it.

.

.

.

It never came. I open my eyes to see that ROGUES had made a circle around me, effectively protecting me from the crazy rogues. One of them mutters,

"The Boss just had to send the crazy ones!" Another says,

"Why in the hell are we protecting her?" They all yell at that one,

"Our wolves won't let her be killed." Now, that was an interesting piece of information. I saw that all the warriors had been slaughtered. I shuddered, poor Scott! My protective circle consisted of about twelve rogues. These must be the 'regular' rogues who had been sent to control the other 'crazy' rogues. One of the 'regular' rogues ordered the 'crazy' ones,

"Go back to base! The mission is complete." I was completely hidden from view. Once the crazy ones were gone, the others turned to me. They started discussing their options. One who I think is James said,

"Why and how did our wolves hijack our bodies to protect her? What do you think Adrien?" Adrien added,

"It was really strange. I mean like if you guys had arrived a second later when she tried to get me to talk, I most likely would have told her everything. I just like want to." The other five prisoners nodded in agreement.

"What can we do? We can't bring her back with us because the Alpha would kill us."

"True enough. We could leave her here. There are probably guards coming anyway."

"Not really. We blocked the mind-link, remember." It seemed that Adrien and James were the leaders in this smaller group.

"I do not know what to do." That is when I decide to move a little because I had been pretending to be unconscious. Nicolas shouts,

"The hell! She moved!" I feel everyone freeze and stare at me. Adrien quickly says,

"She will be waking up soon. We need to make a decision." Nicolas asks,

"Isn't the Alpha her dad?" I freeze. Could the Alpha of the Thunder Manes, the number 1 peaceful pack, my scumbag of a father, be in charge?

"Yeah, but you know how he is. He probably doesn't care about his own flesh and blood." I sense everyone's agreement.

"For the Alpha of the Thunder Mane Pack, he isn't really peaceful or caring." I feel my breath hitch. That was what I needed to prove that my father was responsible.

"Watch out guys, her breathing changed, she is waking up."

"If she is waking up, then we can leave her here without the mind-link so she can call for help."

"Yeah, that would work to satisfy our wolves' desire to protect her."

"Then, let's go." With that, I heard them leave. I slowly move my body into a sitting position. Even though, I wasn't killed, I hurt like hell. I tentatively try my mind-link. It's open. I contact Carson,

"Mate, Carson..." He immediately responds,

"What's happened? I am on my way over. We just found the dead bodies of my warriors. Are you okay?" At that moment, I cough up some blood. Since the mind-link was open, Carson could sense the action. He becomes furious. "What's wrong? Who hurt you? I am going to kill them."

"Stop." Carson does not, cutting off the connection instead. Well, at least, he will be here soon. I mean this rescue was not a complete fail. We do have Alex, we know who is responsible for this attack, but we have six more casualties of our warriors. That is something we did not need with the upcoming fight.

About five minutes later, Carson arrived in wolf form. He shifted and put clothes back on before stalking over to me. He is mad. My mate starts,

'Why didn't you call me to help with the rogues?" I am surprised until I realize what it looks like. It looks like I took on over forty wolves while injured, knowing that I could contact him, costing us warriors. I tell him quickly,

"They blocked our mind-link. It was a perfect ambush. The six warriors and I had to retreat some, leaving them open to free the prisoners. I-I was nearly killed." Carson growled at them, hugging me closer to be able to breathe in my scent to calm his beast. I continue,

"But the rogues protected me." Carson pulls away to look at me shocked. At this point, he had brought my pack with him who were all looking at me like I was crazy. "I'm serious. There were the crazy rogues and the regular ones. The regular ones saved me from the crazy ones, sending them away." They still do not believe me. "It's not the first time it's happened apparently."

*Flashback*

That wasn't even the most shocking conversation I had. With a injured Luna this time. She asked me,

"How do you do it?" I looked at her, confused,

"How do I do what?"

"You mean you don't realize." I continued staring at her confused,

"Nope. What do you mean?"

"Oh, well. Didn't you notice that the rogues were killing everyone but you? I mean they especially targeted the lunas. You were the sole exception. It was like they didn't want to kill you. I mean, everyone felt sort of protective of you. It's your aura. You manage to frustrate everyone, yet there is not a wolf on this planet who would not give up his life to save yours." I stared mouthed open as she continued,

"There is something about you. Well, don't listen to me, I am probably imagining things." She smiled at me and then walked to her Alpha.

*Flashback over*

I had told them of the conversation. I offer a solution,

"Maybe it is because I am a white wolf." Miya has a far off look in her eye,

"Maybe." I turn back to Carson,

"Also, I know who is responsable for the attack. It is the Alpha of the Thunder Mane Pack, also known as Arthur, my dearest scumbag of a father." He looks at me and asks,

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"We will declare war at a council gathering on the basis of Elina's near murder, Alex' kidnapping and your near killing." A council gathering was when the Alpha families of the packs gathered together to talk about something that involved them all. I smile at Carson and say,

"At least, we are all together and found."
