Chapter Seven: Perverts in Camelot?
(Blaze's POV)
"Damn it!"
"Calm!"
"No!" Jinxx throws the sticks down. "Magic time." She stands.
"Jinxx, what if you catch the whole forest on fire?"
"Then let it burn!"
"Jinxx!"
"What?"
I sighed at her feigned innocence. No one knows more than me how not-innocent little Jinxxy is. Now, don't get me wrong. She's definitely more innocent than me, but still. I mean, Jinxx may have panic attacks and be totally shy sometimes, but she also won't hesitate to punch you or, well, burn down an entire forest, for example.
While I was distracted, Jinxx had tried to light the sticks. Repeatedly. Yet each time she said the spell it rained in that singular spot instead of catching light, and the wood was soaked, and so was Jinxx's front side.
"Damn it!" She yells and I sigh, here we go again.
"Jinxx, take a deep breath, close your eyes, and imagine the fire as you say the spell. Direct your thoughts, you know you can never seem to perform a spell if you're distracted."
Jinxx turned to me, and I furrowed my eyebrows, we were both confused. How did I know that?
"Double time things?" She asked.
"Double time things." I confirmed. "Try again."
Jinxx sighed and closed her eyes. She slowly raised her hand to the wood. "Forbearnan," She whispered.
Rain again.
"Mother fu--"
"Jinxx Klark!"
"...fuffer..." She finished. I sighed once more.
"Again."
"Blaze--!"
"Again!"
"Fine! Forbearnan!" Nothing. "Forbearnan! Forbearnan! Forbearnan!" Rain. Rain. Rain.
As I watch, Jinxx frustratedly picks up a stick and brings it up to her face. She, as only Jinxx or I would, screams at the inanimate object. It catches. I stand quickly, wide eyed. I had just seen my best friend, my twin, breathe fire.
"What did you just do?"
"I-- I don't know! I just yelled at it and it caught where I yelled! Like I-- like I breathed fire or something."
"Do it again."
"What?" Jinxx questioned.
"Do it again, do it again! But, but try just breathing on it, not yelling. What were you thinking about?"
"I was thinking about it exploding, bursting into flames because I wanted that stick to be ash. Stupid stick."
"Think that when you breathe. Here." I walk to the pile and pick up a stick, handing it to Jinxx, before taking a step back. "Now, try it."
She looks at me quizzically before closing her eyes and taking a deep breathe in. She then opens her eyes and slowly releases the breath. A small stream of fire comes with it. Her shoulders jump and the fire stops as she brings a hand up to cover her mouth. She looks at me wide eyed. "Oh my god!"
"That," I smile wide, starting to laugh. "That was awesome!"
"Dude. I just breathed fire!"
"Dude. I know. Here, Here, try ice!" I pick up a leaf off the ground that I deem large enough to be frozen. She does the same thing as with the stick, but instead of catching fire, the leaf in her hand became completely frozen over.
"Omg! Omg! Omg!" We yell together and start squealing, bouncing around. "That's so cool!"
We calm down, and I can see realization sweep over Jinxx's face. What are we going to do about food?
"Hey, that's what I was thinking!" Jinxx said.
"What?"
"You just said 'what are we going to do about food?', right?"
"No...I said that in my head..." I looked at her in shock.
"Did we just...Holy shi-"

The warm but slightly damp ground was hard under my back. I sat up and looked around.
"Well I guess that wasn't a dream." I mumbled. I look to my right and see Jinxx, still in slight slumber. I reached for her shoulder and shook her.
"Jinxx, hey, Jinxx, wake up." She turned over.
"Good morning." She said with a sleepy voice. Suddenly, the sound of a horn rang throughout the air.
"That sounded like it came from Camelot..." Jinxx said, startled by the noise.
"Should we go back? They might be in trouble or something."
"Yeah, we should pack up and head back." Jinxx said as she got up. I nodded in response. We gathered our things and started to head back down the path. The sun was just starting to rise and the sky was painted in a golden black haze. By the time we arrived at the gate of Camelot the sky had awoken with a bright smile.
We stopped when we came to the gate. There was a suspicious character lingering around. We continued to walk but only to be stopped by the suspicious character.
"Who are you?" The man, with a hunch, said with a harsh tone. Jinxx looked at me. Can you handle him, since I'm still getting used to using my magic? I nodded with a smile. I turned in a fast motion towards the creepy ass man and starred directly into his eyes and glared.
"Who's asking?" The man started to fidget. I slowly walked towards him. As I did, I saw shock in his eyes as he starts to shrink. Not literally though, I'm just taller than this old geezer. I put my hands on my hips and wait for an answer. He looked like he'd gotten some confidence as he spoke up,
"Well, 'big' lady, I am a merchant, you see." He opens the side of his cloak, which startled me, because I thought he would flash us or something, but he didn't. Instead, there was an array of gold and silver rings and necklaces hanging. After examining his display, I look back at his face with my eyes squinted. This man annoys me, what the hell. He seems normal but something's off.
"Sorry, sir, but we're not looking to purchase any jewelry right now." Jinxx interjects, probably feeling the awkwardness as I had just stood there staring, not saying anything.
"Oh ho ho, are you sure? A fair maiden, such as yourself, is always in need of a trinket or two." He said with a gross smile and breathing heavily, as he started to creep towards Jinxx. Gasp! A pervert! I step in between them, shielding Jinxx.
"Look, asshat," I put my finger on his head. "you better close your do-hickey and walk back to where ever you came from, or so help me Camelot, you're going to end up a lot shorter then when you first approached us." I heald my breath and made my angriest face to scare him off. Jinxx was trying not to laugh from behind me.
"I'm s-so sorry to trouble you, I'll be out of your way." The pervert man gulps and stumbles backwards, then turning around and speed walking away. I exhaled.
"Holy shit, dude, that was a perverted merchant, who tried to hit on you." I scratched the back of my head with a nervous laugh. Jinxx's face did not look amused at the obvious fact I pointed out.
"Yeah, I know, and it was fucking gross." She said, snapping at me in a joking manner.
"I know right! Wait- at least thank me for saving you!"
"Save me? Girl, all you did was intervene. I could have handled it." Jinxx replied with a sassy voice.
"Yeah, but- but! I helped!" I dragged out the last word in a whiney tone. She busted out a laugh while slightly shaking her head.
"Blazey, I'm kidding. You did help, and I thank you for it. Plus, it was funny how you told him off."
"What do you mean? I was trying to be scary!"
"Yeah, but with words like 'do-hickey', it sounded more childish." She laughed.
"Gah! Whatever!" I say grinning, then both of us laughed at our ridiculous squabble. We are granted passage back into Camelot by one of the guards and make way to Gaius'
