Answers and a Goodbye

FOR THE AUTHOR

"Do you support any other groups besides BTS/ what other K-pop groups do you listen to?"

I wouldn't say I'm devoted to other groups like I am with BTS, but I do enjoy listening to several other groups! I really enjoy Ateez, Monsta X, Mamamoo, GOT7, and EXO.

"How did you get into BTS?"

I came across their Fake Love MV on the trending page of Youtube. I always heard bad things about K-pop, but I never understood why it was considered "cringe". Basically, I decided to watch the MV out of pure curiosity and I ended up falling in love right away. The music, their visuals, the production value, the choreography, it all amazed me and I got into them soon afterward.

"Did you ever think about ending The Siren's Curse with a sad ending?"

Yes. Part of me really did want to make it more gut-wrenching. I considered having Kat accept the curse and let Jimin live his life as a human, and the guys all watched over Jimin as a way of respecting Kat's final wishes, or vice versa (he saved her and she lived her life without him, knowing that he was out there somewhere). But truthfully, I had always originally worked out the way the curse would be broken (through forgiveness). As tempting as it was to leave it on a sadder, more dramatic note, I decided to stick with my original plans and spare you all the heartbreak.

"Can I get a personal siren of my own? *cough*"

I'm afraid I cannot provide you with one at this time :)

"What's the trick for being motivated enough to continue writing and finish a story?"

I wouldn't say there's any particular trick. Everyone is different in what motivates them and gives them inspiration, but I'll list a few of the things that I've found work best for me:

Search for music that fits the tone of what you're writing to get you more synced with the mood you're going for.

Read and watch shows/movies to gain some inspiration,

Find a quiet place to write so you can fully focus without distractions.

Sometimes even if you aren't sure what you want to happen, just typing and seeing where it goes can work out for the best. If it doesn't, you can always go back and edit

Nearing the end of the book, you might feel more pressured or stuck because you're unsure of the best way to wrap things up. I suggest making a list of some unanswered questions and try to find a way to bring closure to those things.

Put yourself in the reader's shoes and try to figure out which endings would be most satisfying

Ultimately, you just have to not let your worries or doubts get in your own way. Believe in the story you started, and stick it out to the end!

"Will you write more Jimin fanfictions?"

I plan to write a fic for each of the members, but if I get through those and I'm still writing here on wattpad, I would love to write more Jimin fics! Either way, he and the other members will likely show up in all of my works.

FOR THE CHARACTERS

Hoseokiiss turns to the large group, sending everyone a hesitant smile.

"Okay, guys. The readers had a few questions for you, so I figured it would be fun if I interviewed you-"

"Seriously?" Yoongi groans, "I thought this story was finished. Can't we finally just relax now? I demand time off."

"Well, I- I mean it is technically finished, but I thought it would be nice to ask a few more questions," Hoseokiiss tries to state firmly, but she stumbles over her words due to the captain's icy glare.

"Don't mind him," Dawon rolls her eyes as she latches her arm with Yoongi's. "We'll gladly answer any questions."

The author nods, straightening up as she clears her throat. She looks up and meets Jimin's eyes, admiring how captivating she'd written them to be. Damn, he's almost as beautiful in my book as he is in the real world.

"Uh, did you have a question for me?" Jimin asks, snapping Hoseokiiss out of her daze.

"Y-yes, the readers asked, 'How was life underwater? Were you always alone or was there anyone you could talk to?'"

Jimin bites his lip as he shakes his head, raising his hand to thread his fingers through his hair. "Some days I thought I'd die of boredom. There were other sirens that I would come across, but we hardly ever said a word to each other. None of us were able to connect, so there was no motivation or point for us to say anything to each other. It was just... dark and lonely all the time." He glances over at Katherine and his lips stretch into a soft smile. "I'm glad to have someone I can connect with now."

The smile on the author's face is wide and obnoxious as she holds a hand to her heart. "You two are just the cutest-"

"Next," Yoongi interrupts her dryly.

"Right. Uh, the next question is for Dawon. 'What was your first impression of Kat when you met her?'"

Dawon laughs under her breath, her eyes flicking over to Kat. "I was definitely caught off guard when I saw her. I mean, I was used to being the only girl, then suddenly after being apart from the guys for years, I came back and found out that another girl was not only part of the crew but also had some kind of history with the man I loved. It was overwhelming and it would have been so easy for me to hate her," she pauses, meeting Kat's gentle eyes. "But when I talked to her, it was pretty clear that she was a good person and I knew I would rather be friends than waste energy hating her."

Kat sent a smile her way before locking eyes with Hoseokiiss. "Thank you for not making her a total bitch like most people were expecting."

The author winks. "You had too many other worries to deal with. I figured a bitchy ex would be too much for you."

"Who's next? Can I go?" Jungkook speaks up, smiling cutely at the author, knowing full well that she had the biggest soft spot for him.

"Of course you can go next," she says, sifting through her notes until she comes to his question. "'Who is your favorite author?'" Hoseokiiss looks at Jungkook expectantly, batting her lashes as she awaits his answer.

"Are you sure the readers asked that? I'm pretty sure-"

"I'm not the one being interviewed here," she reminds him in a sweet voice. "Now answer the question, please."

Jungkook laughs a little as he takes in her hopeful expression. "Hoseokiiss is definitely my favorite author."

The group watches as their writer does a little victory dance, a few of them cringing while others bite their cheeks to hold in their laughter.

"I'll go next if that's okay," Taehyung says softly, stepping forward once Hoseokiiss composes herself.

"Sure. Your question is: 'Did you ever have any romantic feelings towards Kat? Did you have a crush on her at any point?"

Taehyung doesn't seem surprised at the question, answering honestly. "When we first saved Kat and she joined our crew, I think we all had some sort of crush on her. She was - is - beautiful, and it was hard to not feel at least some sort of draw towards her. But when we started interacting, we clicked so well as friends that I never needed or wanted anything more. I was completely happy and satisfied just being her best friend, and I still am."

Kat looks at Taehyung fondly, then she walks over to him and hugs him. The rest of the group smile as they watch the best friends, and the author wipes a tear from her eye as she sniffles.

"Such a pure friendship. Alright, next we have Jin."

Jin comes up to Hoseokiiss with a handsome smile, looking at her expectantly. She clears her throat, fighting back the blush that threatens her cheeks. He's not even the real Kim Seokjin, why are you so affected?!

"Ahem, the readers want to know what your next desire would have been aside from giving the crew a really nice meal. They loved that, by the way."

"I did notice my fans writing sweet comments about that," Jin smiles. "The truth is, my first desire was that I get to eat at that famous restaurant. My second desire was for the crew to eat there too."

Everyone narrowed their eyes at Jin who simply shrugged.

"I understand. Food is love, food is life." The author closes her eyes and nods, patting Jin's shoulder.

"What did the readers ask me?" Hoseok asks, tilting his head to the side in curiosity.

"Let's see..." The writer's eyes scan over her notes until she finds what she's searching for. "Ah! They want to know if you ever thought about leaving this story, joining the real world, and marrying the author."

Hoseok raises an eyebrow at the writer, an amused smile on his lips. "The readers definitely didn't ask that."

"Were any of the questions you asked us from the readers? Or did you make all of these up yourself?" Namjoon speaks up, his eyes sparkling with as much amusement as Hoseok's.

The author huffs. "Okay, fine. You caught me. Jimin's question was really from a reader, but I made up the rest. Nobody asked you guys questions but I didn't want to make you feel left out so I made some up for each of you." She shrugs.

"Looks like I'm the readers' favorite," Jimin announces proudly, smirking in victory.

"As if. Just because one of them asked you a question doesn't mean you're the favorite. I think we all know there were way more readers on Team Yoongi for the first half of the story," Yoongi replies easily, hardly sparing Jimin a glance.

"Must I remind you whose fanfiction this is?" Jimin counters smugly. Yoongi rolls his eyes but stays silent.

"Okay, okay. Can I just finish with my questions now?" Hoseokiiss asks.

"But they're lame questions anyway," Hobi responds.

"Hey, at least you're being asked something! I could have just asked Jimin his question and left the rest of you out of this update. Would you have liked that?"

Nearly everyone in the group nods, murmuring about how nobody asked for a Q&A in the first place.

"Just answer the question!" the author raises her voice, looking to Hoseok expectantly.

"As much as I adore our lovely author, I can't say that I've made plans to marry her." Hoseok answers, chuckling when the writer purses her lips in disappointment.

"I'll wait for you," she whispers, winking not-so-discreetly at him. "Alright, next is Namjoon."

Namjoon steps forward, smiling at his writer as he patiently awaits the question she made up for him.

"How do you like being the captain of your own ship now?" she asks.

Hoseok scoffs. "Why didn't I get a serious question like him?"

"What do you mean? Your question was completely serious."

"I-" Hoseok pauses and shakes his head, letting out a sigh. "Nevermind. Continue."

Everyone looks at Namjoon expectantly, and he scratches the back of his neck as he realizes all attention is on him.

"I really love it... I feel a sense of purpose captaining my dad's old ship. I think he'd be proud of me," he said softly, the side of his mouth lifting.

"He definitely would be," Hoseokiiss assures him, and the two of them share a warm smile.

"Alright, let's get this over with. What's my question?" Yoongi asks dryly.

"Nothing. I didn't make one for you." The author blinks at him.

"What?! After all that you said about making us feel included, you didn't even bother to write a question for me?" he asks incredulously.

"Mhm. I knew you'd be grumpy and not want to participate, so I saved myself the trouble of thinking of one for you," the writer answers.

"But... Maybe I did want to get a question," Yoongi admits sourly, his frown only growing deeper as he notices the author's face brighten.

"Ah hah! See, I knew you'd try to act uninterested when in reality you cared. I do have a question for you, I just wanted to hear you admit that you didn't think this was the most horrible thing ever," she grins victoriously, and he purses his lips.

"Just ask my question already."

"How do you feel about Jimin after getting to know him better and learning to trust him?"

"Who says I trust the guy?"

"Oh come on, you totally have a soft spot for him lately," Hoseok speaks up, nudging the captain.

"I do not. I'm pretty sure Kat is next." Yoongi diverts the attention away from him.

Kat rolls her eyes at him before looking at the author expectantly. Hoseokiiss can't help but smile, seeing in the protagonist so many parts of herself. The author's heart suddenly aches as her eyes take in each of the characters she's spent so much time with, realizing this is their final goodbye.

"What is the last thing you want to say to the readers?"

At the simple question, Kat smiles a soft, bittersweet smile, eyes glossy with unshed tears. She faces the readers and it's clear how genuine she is as she speaks her final line.

"Thank you for going on this journey with me."
