3) Home Sweet- Island?
"Atlantis... Lanti, wake up." She groaned and opened her eyes. The siren was back home, back in her own bed. Her parents were on either side of the bed and Poseidon was gently shaking her. "What happened?" she asked, sitting up.
"I brought you back home and you passed out for a few hours. Surprisingly, you only had a few bruises. Good job."
Amphitrite glared at her husband.
"I mean you shouldn't have started a battle."
"Are you okay? Last time I saw you, there were bruises all over and Hermes was going to break your spine or something and-"
Poseidon cut her off. "I heal quickly, Atlantis. Don't worry. But Zeus was pretty angry that we kind of started a huge fight."
"Oh." She replied. Atlantis got up and stretched. Her muscles ached from the fight with Hermes and Athena. Suddenly an explosion shook the whole room. The royal family swam out of the room. There was a gaping hole in the palace wall which also destroyed the stairs. All of them being half fish and without legs, the stairs were purely decoration, but expensive nonetheless. In the middle the meteor-like missile, crackling with electricity, was Zeus.
"Bro! What is up with this?! You can't just come barging into my house!"
Zeus shrugged. "I just did. And if I'm not mistaken, which I'm not, you are harboring a dangerous monster." He paused and laughed to himself. "Harboring, ha! Pun intended." His voice turned serious again. "Now hand it over."
"I'm not an 'it'!" Atlantis cried.
"And I'm not going to hand her over so you can kill her!" Her father added.
"Make me." His brother challenged.
Just as the battle began, Amphitrite grabbed Atlantis' hand and pulled her back. "We have to get you out of here." The goddess sped through the palace and outside, ignoring the explosions and noises from the fight.
Atlantis yanked her arm away from her mother. "Where are we even going?! I want to stay with Dad and help him."
"That is definitely not happening. Zeus is trying to take you so going back to him is literally the stupidest thing you could do. We are going to the surface and you are going to stay on an island away from all this craziness and then we'll come get you after this blows over."
Amphitrite sped away and her daughter struggled to keep up. "Wait! What are you talking about?!"
The goddess stopped suddenly, and Atlantis almost crashed into her. "We're going way too slow."
"Too slow?!" Atlantis repeated. "I think I broke my record!"
"We need to get you safety. And fast. Faster than this." Amphitrite grabbed Atlantis' hand and they flashed to a completely different part of the ocean, over 750 miles west.
The siren swan up and looked around. There was a small island in front of her and more land on the horizon. "Where are we?"
"Fishers Island, New York. The island where you will stay on until we come back and get you after the battle is over."
"Say what? Staying on? Like on top of? Like on the actual land mass that is Fishers Island?"
"Yes, yes and yes." The two flashed again so they were on top of, as in on, the actual land mass that is Fishers Island. The siren sat in the sand while her mother stood. On two legs. Amphitrite had legs. And Atlantis told her so. "Yes, I know I have legs, Lanti. I'm a goddess so I can do that sort of thing."
"So let me get this straight." Atlantis said, looking up at her mother. "You're going to beach me on this island with no water for probably hours. And therefore, I'm going to dehydrate, shrivel up like a prune and die as I bake here in the sun?"
Amphitrite sighed. "Not really, so no, no, and no. Lanti, are you serious? I'm not going to strand you here so you die. There will be a protective bubble around the island so you can breathe like normal. But whatever you do don't leave the island. Got it?"
The siren nodded, blinking in the sun. "When will you be back?"
"I'm not sure. But if we. For some reason don't come back, then-"
"Oh, Mom! Don't say that! You will come back for me, I know it. You and Daddy."
The goddess smiled. "Okay then. But I have to go now." She kissed Atlantis on the forehead. "I love you, Lanti."
"Love you too, Mom." Atlantis watched as her mother walked into the waves and disappeared.
