Travel Afar-
Ash carried Wyatt, letting him sleep as they went over to the lab, the other two clearly had drifted off into another conversation since they still hadn't gone in. He smiled as he brought Wyatt over, his companion resting in his grip while his Pikachu joined beside him.
"You two looked excited. What's the occasion?" They turned before the girl's blue eyes scanned the duo. She then grinned.
"The second augur is coming to visit!" Her white haired companion instantly yelped.
"I wanted to say that, Nicole!"
"Then be faster, Damian!" Ash smiled as Wyatt stirred, trying to figure out who was being noisy. The younger boy didn't wake, simply burying his face into Ash's shoulder. Ash smiled as Damian scanned the duo.
"Are you here to meet the augur?" Ash hummed.
"Not exactly, but I'm here now. So I might as well. I'm actually here to see the professor." Instantly, the two moved out of the way, drifting off into their own conversation as he carried the smaller boy into the lab.
~
It didn't feel like a long time. He was able to deliver Professor Oak's letter before someone else joined, followed by the two kids who seemed determined to prove something. The professor's reaction said it all.
"Oh, go to hell." Wyatt paused in confusion as the older man frowned.
"Sylvan-"
"No. Go to hell. I told you years ago after your decision that we were not doing this." The other two looked proud that they were right as they watched the duel of words.
"Aw, you're not even going to let me explain?"
"Go to hell. The augur will be here and he'll kick your ass all the way to the depths of hell if you don't go yourself." The man raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not scared of an augur who only took over because something happened to the first." Ooh, did the two near the door look pissed at his words. "If anything, Adam can kick my ass while being in the grave. And if the rumors of him having a kid are true, that's when you'll see me retire." Sylvan raised an eyebrow, clearly shocked.
"You're afraid of a kid?"
"I'm sure that kid knows what they are capable of. Now if they were here, you'd see me disappear." Wyatt seemed to stay quiet as he scanned the older man. "Now, are you going to hear me out?"
"Absolutely not! Go to hell!"
"If it was that easy, I would've already done it. You'll survive."
~
She finally heard him out as he explained about three pokemon, delta pokemon to be exact. Nicole and Damian were pissed that the man was rude to the augur, but Wyatt seemed more locked on the pokemon. While the Professor and two kids talked about how they were going to kill the man, Wyatt went over to the Delta Bulbasaur, who sniffed his hand. The delta climbed onto his head, getting a smile as he looked at Ash, who nodded.
~
Nicole and Damian took the other two deltas before going out to get Damian's present for the augur. Meanwhile, Ash and Wyatt were able to talk to the professor about the first augur. She studied the small kid before he paused.
"What?" She hummed.
"I wonder... you look very similar to Adam, the first augur." The kid blinked as she grabbed a book and showed a picture. "That's him. A monster of a trainer. You crossed him, the chances of survival dropped rapidly. No one except the Champion could defeat him. When he vanished, a lot of people were devastated." She paused. "You looked like you could be his child. The rumors might be true. Does this face ring a bell?" Wyatt studied the picture before frowning.
"I don't know... so many blurs-" He gripped his head as Ash let him lean against him. She hummed.
"I'm sure muscle memory will show later. But we'll deal with that another day."
~
A fight broke out in the town hall. Damian and Nicole were torn down as two cultists attacked the augur. Ash had a better idea. Pikachu intercepted the attack as the two boys ran over to the crowd. Damian smiled as Wyatt joined.
"Here-" He passed the two some revives and potions, helping their teams get back up. Ash gulped.
"Are you alright, sir?" The augur, Jaern, gave a grateful smile as Pikachu cleanly tore down the opponents, not needing backup.
~
After Jaern (supposedly) sent the two cultists to Helios City for a trial, he left. But not before inviting the four to join him at the Jade Tower. Wyatt was quiet as the other two ran off to go on an adventure. Ash paused before the entrance of the town.
"What's up?" Wyatt paused.
"I could understand what he used... It's weird." He then frowned. "But that wasn't a teleportation incantation. Vinculorum mortae translates to Bonds of death." Ash hummed.
"He's definitely up to something. But let's not say too much in front of the other two." Wyatt looked at him, puzzled. "They were pissed at the guy at the lab for talking down upon him. Let's not be in the firing line. Come on."
