Here, you'll find the members of the Unit, Salem's psychic police force, tasked with handling the more unusual crimes the mortal cops can't. There are many people in the Unit, so I'm not including any Silver Society members or those who play very minor roles here. This list will get longer as more people pop up in the books.

MAIN CAST

OSCAR "SHOOTER" BERKELY

Shooter is an energy sensitive and manipulator. His power is stronger than most and he can shoot energy from his hands. As a child, he would walk around saying "Zzzzz" to warn people he was about to misfire and zap them. Danny's older sister, Erin Eckerd, taught Shooter how to control his gift.

If Skip and Jo aren't around to run things, the responsibility falls to Shooter. He hates being in charge but is actually very good at it. Tammy has been his partner for years. The two work well together and are extremely close. They usually keep a witty banter between them while working.

Shooter is very sarcastic and sometimes refuses to be serious. His dark sense of humor helped Jade warm up to him quickly. He is very close to her and affectionately calls her "Goth Chick." Beyond his goofy slacker facade, Shooter is a really good man who will do anything to protect the people he cares about.

SKIP BURKE

Skip is in charge of the Unit. He is a powerful empath and is very good at running things. Jo has been his partner for a very long time. He is very close to his younger sister, Susie, even though she often stresses him out.

Skip was a cult kid. He doesn't talk about it, but because of his past, he understands Jade very well. He was eighteen when the Unit recruited him, broke his cult programming, and saved his life. He's been loyal to them ever since. At the start of the series, he is forty-one years old.

He can be very serious at times, but he does have a sense of humor when he's not completely stressed out.

SUSAN "SUSIE" BURKE

Susie is Skip's younger sister. She was also a cult kid. She's extremely hyper and bounces off the walls, often acting manic, but she can be serious and get the job done in an emergency.

Susie is an energy sensitive. She likes jumping into the bodies of the channelers for fun, and no matter what Tammy does, she can't keep her out of her body. Susie has a very big heart and cares deeply for others, but she hates taking life too seriously and likes to play pranks on people. She is easily distracted and clearly has undiagnosed ADHD, but that's part of her charm.

Despite her flakey exterior, Susie is a vital part of the Unit. She excels at thinking outside of the box and often notices things people don't expect her to because they assume she's not paying attention.

JOANNA "JO" LEVY

Jo is Skip's long-time partner at the Unit. She is the strongest precog in the Unit. She looks like a runway model but is actually a very good cop. When out in the field, Jo picks things up that others miss thanks to her visions.

Sometimes, Skip needs Jo to ground him and keep him calm, especially when his empathy gets out of hand. She is a very compassionate, wise woman. At the start of the series, she is thirty-five. She was recruited to the Unit at fifteen and has been working with Skip ever since. Their bond is unbreakable. It's possible Skip and Jo are in love, but they've never really explored these emotions.

TAMMY MEADOWS

Tammy is a channeler. She has been Shooter's partner for years. She likes to mock him, but actually has a great deal of respect for him. The two are incredibly close. There is nothing one would not do for the other.

Tammy can be serious or snarky depending on what the situation demands. She's more focused than Susie and Shooter, but is a little less neurotic than Skip. She often sarcastically scolds Shooter when he misbehaves and knows how to keep him in line.

She is often the voice of reason when everyone else is freaking out or fighting over what to do, making her an indispensable part of the Unit. Tammy can always be counted on to keep a cool head in a crisis and do what needs to be done, no matter what.

OTHER UNIT MEMBERS
CYLAS IRVINE

Cylas is a Cleric at the Unit. He likes to gossip with the other Clerics. He is friendly with his co-workers and loves chatting while working. He's a good guy, but his love of gossip may get him into trouble one day.

MIRANDA TAGERSON

Miranda is an honor student at Bishop High School. She has the ability to walk the time line. She's pretty, popular, and a cheerleader who participates in several extracurricular activities while maintaining an impressive GPA. Shooter likes to crack jokes debating about where she "finds the time," mocking her ability to time travel. She's a funny, clever girl who joins the Unit just prior to the start of Perfectly Perfect.
