Ousei woke up to the sun shining on his face through his apartment window. He slowly opened his eyes to see a small white snake with red eyes near his face.

"Huh, what a snake doing here?" He questioned."Through there, something familiar about you."

"I'm Yukimaru," The snake hissed, making Ousei Look at the snake in surprise that he just understood the snake.

"I just understood you," Ousei said.

"Yes, that's right, your father was the same as my father, Kaburamaru. This is why I might seem familiar. I look like a smaller version of the snake in the picture," Yukimaru replied.

"I do recall seeing a snake wrapped around my father's neck in that picture."

"That was my father. I don't know what happened to him since they died. Just remember being sealed in your Haori pocket, but it finally broke, which means you're a ninja, now," Yukimaru said.

"Why we're sealed in there until then?"

"Your father wanted me to guide you when you became a ninja in case he wasn't around for you. Not sure if he knew he wouldn't make it or if it was because he a busy shinobi."

"I see. We'll talk more later. I need to get ready for orientation," Ousei said, getting Yukimaru away from his face.

Ousei did his usual morning routine of showering and brushing his teeth. After doing that, he put on his Haori and ninja outfit before he tied his headband to his forehead. Yukimaru then wraps herself securely around his neck.

He grabbed some toast and ate it before he headed out of his apartment, ready for the Ninja orientation.

Ousei was walking down the street from his apartment when he heard his name being called.

"Ousei!"

He turned around to see Naruko running his way. She wore an orange and black kimono with her usual orange jacket unzipped, and her headband was on her forehead.

Naruko lived in a run-down apartment in the most run-down district that was a bit further from the academy compared to where Ousei's apartment building was located.

"Hi Naruko, see you passed after all," Ousei said.

"Yeah, of course I did after all; I will be Hokage! Believe it!"

"Yes, of course, how could. I forget, "Ousei said with a nod of his head.

Ousei and Naruko then continue walking toward the Academy as they see a strange figure that was near the wall.

"You're mine, Naruko!" A young boy named Kohonamaru shouted before he tripped on the wall-looking fabric and fell.

'Who is that boy? He is quite odd.' Ousei thought.

Ousei walked over and looked down at him with his eyes narrow, studying the boy. Konohmaru gulped as he looked into Ousei's eyes.

'This guy his different color eyes are so scary, especially his expression.' Konohmaru thought, unable to look away from Ousei's eyes.

"Uh, what do you think you're doing, Konohamaru?" Naruko questioned.

"That was a slick move. That's why I respect you as a rival," Konohamaru said, getting up as Ousei finally backed away from him, making Konohamaru's breath easier.

"But I didn't even do anything..." Naruko said.

"Alright, then fight me fair and square!" Konohamaru declared.

"Sorry, but I can't. We got orientation," Naruko said sheepishly as she scratched the back of her head.

"Orientation?" Konohamaru said, confused.

"That's right. As of today, Ousei-Kun and I are Ninja, believe it!" Naruko exclaimed, pointing at her forehead.

Naruko waved bye to Konohmaru as Ousei started to walk away from the two.

"Hey, Ousei-Kun. What with the snake?" " Naruko asked, pointing at the snake around Ousei's neck.

"This beautiful girl is Yukimaru my father used to have a pet snake, and he left me one before he passed away," He explained.

"Oh, I see that super cool your father left you a pet snake!"

Ousei and Naruko had finally arrived at the Ninja Academy and took a seat next to Suki, who was on Ousei's right, and Naruko was on his left since Ousei was seated in the middle.

Shikamaru then walked down the stairs and noticed Naruko in the classroom."Huh? What are you doing here, Naruko? This isn't for dropouts. You can't be here unless you graduate," He said.

"Oh yeah, do you see this? Do you see this? Open your eyes, Shikamaru. It's a regulation headband. We're going to be training together. How do you like that?" Naruko said with a smile on her face, making Ousei sigh at how much energy she had.

He then started thinking about his parents and wondered how they would react to see that he graduated from the academy and was about to get assigned his team today.

His thoughts were interrupted by his train of thought as he heard running coming toward the classroom. He looked at the door to see Saku and Inojou arriving simultaneously.

"I'm first!" They yelled in sync as they both came barging through the classroom door.

Ousei quickly stood up and walked away to sit in a different spot, not wanting to deal with Saku and the rest of Suki's fanboys.

As he got settled in his new suit, he then saw the fanboys start to argue about who was going to sit next to Suki. He then suddenly saw Naruko was in front of Suki's face and glared at her with their eyes closed with electricity coming from their eyes as the two girls glared at each other.

The fanboys then yelled at Naruko for glaring at Suki while they were also telling Suki to teach Naruko a lesson.

Ousei narrowed his eyes as he looked at the two when suddenly...

They kissed each other. Ousei stared at them, not expecting for that to happen.

"Those girls are quite strange," Yukimaru said.

"Yeah, they can be strange at times, but it makes them interesting," Ousei replied.

The two then broke the kiss and gagged from the kiss. A faint laugh was heard catching Ousei's attention and he turned to see Sasuke next to Sakura laughing.

'I guess he finds Suki and Naruko's incident funny.' Ousei thought before turning back around.

Naruko's eyes widened as he muttered.

"Danger.." He then turned around to see the boys as they glared at her.

"Naruko, you are so dead!" Saku exclaimed.

"Hey, Woah. It was just an accident!" Naruko defended.

As soon as Saku was about to hit, Naruko, Ousei quickly appeared in front of her and grabbed his fist with a hardened glare. Naruko looked at him, impressed, as she had never seen Ousei move that quickly.

"Saku you better refrain from hitting Naruko. She didn't mean to kiss Suki. Besides, you don't know who Suki is even interested in. Now back off now!" He commanded, nearly twisting Saku's hand.

Ousei then returned to his seat as Iruka came into the room with his clipboard and papers and stood at the front of the class.

"As of today, you are all ninjas. To get here, you faced difficult trials and hardships. But that's nothing. What comes next will be far more difficult. Now you're only genin, first-level ninjas; all the genin will be grouped into three-person squads, but, due to there being an odd number of students, there will be one four-person squad. A jounin, an elite ninja, will lead each squad." Iruka-Sensei explained.

"What do you mean what about Sakura and Sasuke?" Saku asked.

"It already decided they will be a 2 man squad," Iruka explained.

"Well, someone's got to be in Suki's team. I wonder who." Inojou wondered, talking to Saku, with him looking back, "I don't know."

Saku glared back at him.'Chaw! I'm going to be with Suki. So stay away from her!'

"We want each squad to have a balance of strengths and abilities, so that's how we set them up. I will now announce the squads." Iruka then stated the Squads from one to six.

"Squad Seven. Naruko Uzumaki..." Naruko sits up, hearing her name, Saku Haruno..."

Naruko looked at Saku calmly, but he didn't dislike Saku but she preferred to be Ousei instead. As Saku sulked, he couldn't stand Naruko.

"I'm doomed," Saku muttered.

"And Suki Uchiha.."

Saku then sat up with a fist in the air, happy to have Suki, as Naruko sulked in disappointment, and Suki just stared at the window blankly.

'I have to get a team with the useless Saku and dumb Naruko. Ousei is so much better than both of them.' Suki thought, glancing at Ousei sitting alone behind Shikamaru.

"Next, Squad Eight. Hinata Hyuga..." Hinata slowly looked up at Iruka."Yes, sir..." She whispered."Kiba Inuzuka." Kiba then chuckled. "Shino Aburame..." Shino lifted his shades a bit."And finally, Ousei Iguro is the fourth member."

Ousei looked at Hinata, who looked at him and blushed before looking away at her hands nervously.

'So I'm with Hinata, that fine she is shy, but she does have the potential to be a fine shinboi.' Ousei thought of seeing no problem with Hinata as a teammate. He wasn't entirely sure about Kiba or Shino.

"Now, Squad Ten. Inojou Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara..." Inojou wasn't happy about being on Shikamaru's team.

"Heh! Did you say something about hosting to be on my squad?" Shikamaru mocked, making Inojou glare at him.

"And Choji Akimichi." Inojou placed his hands on his head in defeat.

'Ah! Not food boy too!'. Inojou thought.

"Squad Serpent is Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha. Those are all the squads."

"Hey, Iruka-Sensei. Why does a great ninja like me have to be in the same group with a slug-like Suki? Why can't I be with Ousei?!" Naruko asked, standing up and pointing at Suki, who just ignored him.

Iruka looks up at Naruko from his papers, hearing her question.

"To create a balanced team, we put the best student with the worst. At the same time, Ousei and Suki had a close tie with the best scores of all the graduating students. Naruko, you had the worst sores, Iruka explained." However, Ousei's skills work better with Squad Eight, so he paired with them," He explained.

Naruko growled in annoyance at Suki having a better score.

"Just make sure you don't get in my way, loser," Suki said, still looking at the window.

Naruko clenched her fist."Hey, what did you say?!"

"Hard of hearing?" Suki asked in a mocking tone.

Ousei sighed at the two behavior and saw Yukimaru agreeing with him as he looked at them in annoyance.

"Now, after lunch, you'll meet your new Jounin instructors. Until then, class is dismissed!" Iruka announced, dismissing the class for lunch.

So in this chapter, Ousei is added as the fourth member of Team Eight. He also got himself a new friend. There was also some annoyance from Suki and Naruko for not getting team up with Ousei. As well, Naruko ends up kissing Suki. I hope you all enjoy the fourth chapter of The Silent Serpent. You also if you have the story up to the chapter I stopped on you will now understand why Sakura and Sasuke were a 2 man team.
