Chapter 68: Nothing to hide
Throughout the night Jimin laid there with Jungkook, the older found himself growing closer and closer to sleep. Each time he drew near to rest, he closed his eyes and let out an exhale; trying to count sheep and dream. But as he kept his eyes closed, Jungkook opened his eyes and sat up. The fire crackling was slowly diminishing as Jungkook stood up and looked back to see Jimin faking his sleep. Wondering what else Jungkook had yet to do.
Jungkook sat there silently, looking at Jimin as if he wanted to wake him, but Jimin only pried his eyes open slightly to give off a half-sleep look to his face. "Ah... Baby where are you going?"
"I... wanted to show you something; but I didn't want to wake you. I couldn't sleep without showing you one last thing." Jungkook responded. For a second there, Jimin almost forgot Jungkook wasn't mute; so, this alone only shocked him for a second before realizing he already knew this. It was just weird for him. Everyday, he understood sign language from Jungkook and the boy would do it back. But now, Jungkook didn't need to; he could talk properly and respond with no hassle.
"You can show me in the morning, Jungkook." Jimin whispered and batted his eyes while looking down. The sting was there and the corner part of his eyeball looked strained while he still chose to stay up through the pain from before.
Only after, Jungkook tugged Jimin's hand, wanting him to follow. "Bed." Jungkook said calmly as he still managed to add in a tone of whining. "Bed. I want the bed." Jungkook continued as Jimin had no other choice but to let out a sigh and stand up. No matter how tired and sleepy Jimin was, Jungkook refused to sleep on the couch overnight. Jungkook smiled happily as soon as he watched Jimin stand up. On the couch, there wasn't that much room either way. Jungkook just wanted to have enough space to pull his king close enough so he could curl up over his chest and have such a sweet dream.
"Ah, Jungkook... How did my prince become so spoiled..?" Jimin complained as the younger let out a giggle once he glanced back at Jimin.
"Because you spoiled me!" Jungkook added. "You didn't need to, I actually do have my camera but I was playing it off like it was stolen. It's back at the hideout." Jungkook mentioned while Jimin stopped for a second and blinked his eyes once more.
"You brat, do you know how tough it was to find that camera I have for you now? How expensive it was? Ah... And the camera you had was from Japan. I should have suspected something was up. You really do find merchandise and items from Japan quite interesting."
"Oh, what a shame you didn't figure it out before." Snickered the boy; dragging Jimin up the stairs and to the bedroom. "I've been hiding things from you as I stayed here." Jungkook continued as they reached the bedroom. "Can't I show you now? It'll be quick."
"Depends on what it is." Jimin replied with a yawn while the younger let out an adorable giggle and just walked to the bed to sit down. "What is it?"
"...A lot of memory cards and flash drives." Jungkook replied with a giggle. "You'll have to look through them of course!"
"Tomorrow it is." Decided the older as Jungkook smiled and crawled onto the center of the bed before laying back and gazing down to watch Jimin sit by his side and take his dress shirt off. "Jungkook, will you come with me to the funeral..?" Jimin wondered as Jungkook gazed at Jimin in silence. "I don't want everyone to think it's off how you won't show up."
"I'll go... But only to pick you up when you break.." Jungkook insisted as Jimin smiled and turned his body to face Jungkook; softly caressing the boy's face with a teary smile.
"I appreciate that.." Jimin responded as he continue to caress the boy's face and led his hand up to softly touch his hair so gently. This left Jungkook to scoot in closer as he wrapped his arms around Jimin. This was the lovely feeling Jungkook adored the most and that was just to feel the older caress his hair so gently. It was something about the way Jimin touched the prince by his hair and played with it softly that made Jungkook so drawn to it. That feeling was so calming, that Jimin knew this was Jungkook's favorite spot to receive gentle touches.
By the next morning, Jungkook opened his eyes to look around and see Jimin was still fast asleep. The younger used to follow his corrupted sleep schedule that consisted of waking up so early in the morning just to commit his crimes and return in time to pretend he didn't do a thing. The only time Jungkook would be up so early would be when Jungkook goes off to kill or either see his gang members at the hidden hideout. The younger made a smile and crawled over Jimin to sit over the older's laps and lean in to give pecks along Jimin's cheek. "Goodmorning, my King~" Jungkook whispered against Jimin's neck and left one last kiss before Jimin woke up.
"Mmh... Ah, I can't even sleep with my prince constantly waking me up~" Jimin whispered. His hands then rested over Jungkook's waist. "What do you want?"
"You!" Jungkook replied with a cute giggle as Jimin let out a chuckle while he sat up and gave Jungkook a quick kiss on his lips.
"Alright, get off." Jimin retorted. But, Jungkook continued to give off his playful giggles while he turned over and dropped onto the bad with a big smile on his face. "Now, what was it that you needed to show me?" Jimin asked as he stood up to look back at the boy who was laying on the bed so playfully.
"I kept this a secret from you for the longest... I just don't want you to show others. As soon as you see these things, they are like evidence. Please don't get upset...." Jungkook warned Jimin as he sat up. "I don't want you to fear me after."
"Fear you? Ah, you're such a charm, Jungkook." Jimin smiled as he cupped the boy's face and kissed him on his forehead. "Just show me. There's no way I would throw you aside like you're nothing after. We talked about this already; if I was afraid of you, I don't think we'd be in the same room as of right now." Jimin assured as Jungkook smiled and kept his gaze at the older while he finally decided to show him his long hidden secret. Deep down, Jungkook felt a little worried; he thought it was off that Jimin was okay with everything. Jungkook could walk in after committing murder, wipe blood off from his face and Jimin would still give him a hug and kiss him close.
Just thinking of the way Jimin handled the fact that Jungkook was a gang leader made it seem like it was less of an issue. It was like Jimin only said, "it's okay" to the younger and hugged him. But, Jungkook never even thought that Jimin only allowed this behavior because he was insane underneath all the love. Jimin knew if he was to act negative towards it, Jungkook would slowly pull away from his lover and run off. Losing the only one he had in his life. Jimin was so desperate to have Jungkook, he completely didn't care about the fact that he loved a criminal.
The younger walked to the office with Jimin following along as the older went to drop onto the office chair and wait for Jungkook to show him what he hid. "Here. It's right here!" Jungkook claimed and got down on his knees as he knocked on the hollow plank on the floor and finally lifted the wood to take the bag out. "You can look through it... But please know that I had no choice to do each and every one of these."
Jimin gawked at the bag filled with flashdrives and SD cards while he hesitated and just kept staring at the bag. "All of those are enough to find you guilty?" Jimin wondered as Jungkook nodded his head. "Why do you keep it then?"
"I have to show my members. In these footages, I show them how I escape my situation, how I clean up after and leave no trace. Besides, I'll destroy it after." Jungkook replied. The boy then walked up to Jimin and crawled over his lap to sit down and open the bag. "I... Also saved pictures I took of you here..." Mentioned the prince while Jimin wrapped his arms around Jungkook's waist.
"Let's just see those instead." Insisted the man as he bestowed a sweet kiss onto the back side of Jungkook's neck. He watched over the younger set up the file into the laptop while the Chief only gawked the other flashdrives and memory cards. Just these alone were enough to plead his prince guilty and sentence him to death row. However, Jimin just didn't think it was safe to keep the evidence out here. "Jungkookie... Don't you want to get rid of the evidence?" Jimin asked again in worry.
It should be noted, Jimin was accepting when it came to Jungkook committing crimes; only doing this because of the fear of losing his prince. This showed signs of his madness feeding off his life like viruses. He wasn't the same as before and his younger boyfriend knew that by now; Jungkook just didn't know how to handle it.
Eventually, the pictures loaded onto the screen where Jimin looked at the many pictures of himself taken by Jungkook alone. This left Jimin to smile and hug the boy closer; the feeling he treasured and looked back on, just longed to cherish it. Soft hugs and sweet smiles shared through memories. These were enough to steer Jimin away from the loss of his best friend and grow too controlling over his boyfriend. Even gazing at the evidence made him anxious at the same time he held Jungkook close.
Close was the feeling of Jimin's chin resting over Jungkook's shoulder so tenderly and the gentle breathing they let out while watching the pictures of Jimin, Jungkook took. This was the feeling of love Jimin wished to have. If only things weren't so complicated... Jimin would give in his everything to Jungkook. Yet, he couldn't now since there was so much ahead. Even that dark thought of him not ending up with Jungkook still haunted his mind. It was like a possibility Jimin wished to never reach.
Just as the couple were sitting together and smiling at the pictures, Jimin's phone chimed with messages from Mrs. Riyu. Advising him on the location and time where the funeral will be held. Jimin almost forgot the feeling of losing his best friend, on the other hand, Jungkook was there to hold those tears back. Jimin treated Jungkook like a rare jewel; something he didn't want to lose now that everything ran away from the sad and insane Chief. It was only now that the King lost himself and needed his Prince to feel cured from this crisis he slipped into and hoped to free himself from. Not only he rooted for this change, but Jungkook did as well.
