Chapter 55: My final call
About three days later, Jungkook was able to walk around. He stayed with the Chief at home for three whole days straight! Together, they laughed, cooked and watched movies together like an actual couple. This was enough to make the younger feel as if he got what he longed to have. Avoiding work and spending time with his lover. Of course, Jimin had to step out time to time just to get to work. However, when he wasn't there, he'd be with Jungkook to cuddle with or just cook together and communicate about many things.
It was about 11:52 PM close to midnight as Jimin was at the kitchen washing dishes. The couple just so happend to finish their dinner of spicy and hot Kimchi stew, white rice as the side dish and a bit of meat strips within the spicy red stew with many steamed vegetables. Jimin was standing by the sink, washing dishes as he looked up ahead at the time. He was wearing a big olive green jacket as he had on black jeans and white socks on after. He was alone in the kitchen cleaning up as he felt like something just didn't feel right.
Even three days after he discovered the gang symbol was a snake, he felt off. He felt as if something bad was bound to happen. He stood there and let out a huff of breath while he contemplated such an odd feeling in his head. He felt as if something bad was bound to happen and all he could do was turn his phone on and stare at the contact log on his phone. He then scrolled down to Sehiro's contacts as he let out a sigh and gazed at it in silence. Tempting to call him. Jimin took a good look around the kitchen and looked back at his phone. Not wanting Jungkook to be there and catch him talking to you-know-who.
Jimin tapped onto the call icon as he dried his other hand after setting the last dish onto the rack so it can dry on it's own. Jimin then sat on the counter as he looked down and heard the phone buzzing as he awaited for the other side to pick up. He felt the need to call the one he called his friend. Feeling like he just needed to hear someone's voice... Not his alone like the way he would communicate with Jungkook. Jungkook made no sounds so all the Chief could hear was himself and no one else.
Only then, Jimin stopped waiting and was greeted to Sehiro. "Hello?" Sehiro asked on the other side of the phone.
"Sehiro... How are you...?" Jimin asked. He had no purpose to call the man, yet, he had the feeling to. He lost his close bestfriend and all he had in his life right now was Jungkook. But even at times, he needed to talk to someone he could hear.
"Jimin... I miss you." Sehiro claimed. "In a friendly way of course! Ah, I've been isolated by so many officers... They were all my friends and now I just sit alone. But my wife is here for me. Will you be here for me too?" Sehiro asked as Jimin felt like he was going to tear up. He took the badge away from his close friend and shoved him away within seconds. But for Sehiro, within seconds, he was willing to let the Chief back in. He lost everyone so all he had was his wife and Park Jimin.
"Of course I will... But I... Can't." Jimin said as he let out a sigh. "Everyone see's you as a killer and a gang member."
"J-Jimin! Please clear my name... I-I'm innocent! You know I would never kill someone like that for a gang. If... If my wife finds out about my case, I'll never have anyone who would love me the way she does! I'll be sentenced to death and... She'll stay against me until she longs to take her wedding ring off and forget about me forever! I don't wanna die...." Sehiro continued as he was tearing up and coming close to sobbing. "My wife and I... We're going to have a baby soon and I want to make it to watch my child grow up or even look at me and think I'm the hero... But, I'm apparently not. I have my name written all over the evidence I never even did!" Sehiro continued as Jimin took these words into his head. "I framed Jungkook... Because he was the closest I could frame so I could be set free. I have too much to live for..."
Just then, Jungkook stepped in, holding his brand new camera as he smiled while he looked up at his boyfriend just sitting on the counter. Jungkook only had on his grey loose bottoms, a white tank top and red socks as he had the strap of his necklace just hanging around his neck. The younger stood by the entrance of the kitchen as he made a smile and rose his camera up to take a picture. "I would try to-" Jimin then turned his head to gaze at Jungkook and sign to him. 'No. I have an Important phone call right now.' Jimin signed to Jungkook as the boy watched it through the camera's view. Understanding what Jimin wanted.
'Who is it?' Jungkook signed in return while Jimin let out a sigh and signed back to the boy.
'A friend. Please give me some privacy.' Jimin signed in return, leaving Jungkook to let out a pout and step back while he had the camera hang from the strap. Jungkook backed away and stepped out of the kitchen, knowing Jimin wouldn't continue talking if he was still in the room. The boy walked off feeling bad as Jimin replied to Sehiro on the phone.
"Sehiro, I would try to clean your name... But I can't... You know I'm the Chief and any contact with you would get me in trouble.." Jimin said into the phone, believing Jungkook was gone, but little did he know, Jungkook was just by the kitchen, up against the wall. Listening to every word Jimin said as he let out a tear from his eyes. "Death row is a long wait. If you are found guilty, you won't die until years after. It's a long wait! You'll be alive in time to see your child be born. I'll visit you!"
"Jimin... I-I just don't feel like I could take this... Never in my life I've ever felt so upset... I won't have my child in my arms or go out to the park just to look at them run as I hold my wife close. I may never have that..." Sehiro continued to tear up as Jimin felt horrible for doing his job, but since Sehiro was his close friend from the start, he couldn't hate him out of the accusations that were held against him.
"Sehiro... Maybe tomorrow, we could go out for coffee once more? I know I'm not supposed to be seen with you, but I would love to talk to you face to face once more... I feel horrible for kicking you out of my life and now, I just hope we end in good terms..."
Jungkook listened to every word-like knives against his heart...Every time Jimin said Sehiro's name within the conversation, Jungkook felt his heart drop and paced further away from the kitchen with a gloomy look in his face. Jungkook then ran up to the room, not wanting to hear any more words as Jimin still held the phone against his ear. Hearing how Jimin longed to bond with Sehiro once more over coffee. To Jungkook, it was like hearing the Chief say he loved Sehiro more! That's how jealous Jungkook got at the same time he grew sad over the thought of them meeting up together.
"I never thought we'd end our friendship... But I understand. A coffee would sound great. Thank you for everything, Jimin. I'm sorry I couldn't have been such a good officer to you." Sehiro added as Jimin felt like he didn't want to end the call only because he knew that it would be his last phone call and then, tomorrow would be the last day he would see Sehiro until he is due for court against Mrs. Wong.
"Anytime. Take care." Jimin said as he hesitated to end the call as Sehiro finally brought himself to hang up after. Making Jimin sit there on the counter. Feeling bad as he slowly dried the tears from his eyes. After contemplating a few minutes to this lost feeling, Jimin finally got up as he suddenly heard a door shut from upstairs. "Ah, what now?" Jimin whispered to himself as he ran up the steps to see his office door shut. The older didn't hesitate any longer and pushed the door ajar to peer his gaze in and see Jungkook quickly shut the laptop and look up.
The office had a mess of papers on the ground, staplers stapled onto the wall and a few file cabinets tumbled over onto the ground. Jungkook's hair was messy as he let out pants and swiftly picked Jimin's laptop into his arms. "Jungkook... I'm sorry... I-I just needed to check up on him... You don't have to worry about it." Jimin said as he slowly approached Jungkook. Knowing the boy got upset and let out some anger in the office. "L-Let's get some sleep, okay? We have a long day of work together."
'You only want to get coffee with your side bitch.' Jungkook signed angrily as his face scrunched into an angry pout.
"S-Side bitch?" Jimin asked as he let out a laugh after reading what Jungkook signed. "Ah, Jungkook... You know he's my friend. I won't ever see him again, at least let me have coffee with him. Tomorrow I'll drop you off at the station and I'll go by there." Jimin promised as Jungkook only scoffed and rolled his eyes, gripping onto the laptop and storming out of the office. Leaving Jimin to clean up after. Jimin never thought Jungkook had a large amount of jealousy in him like this.
The older let out another sigh as he walked over to the papers on the ground to pick up. The older was left to pick up after the boy's mess as he lifted the file cabinets and thought of how angry Jungkook was. There was no way the boy would ever try to warm up to the thought of Sehiro and Jimin being so close before. Jungkook despised the older ex officer only because he knew, deep down that Sehiro still loved Jimin.
After another good while of cleaning up and finally waiting out so Jungkook wouldn't be awake the time Jimin chooses to walk into the room, Jimin finally dragged his feet against the floor to reach the bedroom. Ready for anything Jungkook had to throw at him. Jimin walked all the way to the room and stepped in to finally see Jungkook asleep, hugging the laptop so close to his body like a pillow. The way Jimin saw Jungkook was like he was a stubborn child.
"I swear you act just like a kid sometimes..." Jimin whispered to himself as he switched off the lights and took off his clothes. Only keeping on his vibrant red Calvin Klein underwear. Jimin crawled onto the bed as he laid down by Jungkook to kiss his cheek and make a smile. "But I love you either way... I love you even if you're a handful!" Jimin continued as Jungkook was still asleep with his eyes shut and his grip around the laptop was loose.
The Chief then sat up as he grabbed the laptop and set it down on his lap, rolling his hair back and letting out a huff of breath. Then, Jimin lifted the top of the laptop and gazed at the screen. Just as he took a good look, there was two tabs opened. One was a tab for 'Nearby coffee shops' and 'Tickets to Japan.' Jimin made a smile as he looked over at the tickets for Japan and let out a silent chuckle.
"Oh my silent prince~ so adorable!" Jimin continued to chuckle as he set the laptop away before leaning in and hugging Jungkook. Showering him with kisses and soft cuddles that made Jungkook himself smile in his sleep at the lovely feeling.
