Chapter 53: Big smiles
Jimin drove off to pick Jungkook's camera up as he made sure to left the house locked and secured. He couldn't really tell if Sehiro could show up any moment to attack the light of Jimin's life. That was something he just couldn't live through.
The older stepped out of his house and speed walked to the car where he quickly unlocked it and sat down in front of the steering wheel to head out. The younger then had a feeling once Jungkook wakes up, he'd be pressing his face by the window. Expecting his lover's arrival at any moment. "I shouldn't call him now. He's still asleep." Jimin thought to himself as he gripped onto the steering wheel. "Nothing bad will happen to my Jungkook... He's asleep and locked in there." Jimin continued to tell himself. It was like his mind still feared everything, along with that scary nightmare from before.
The Chief made sure he left the house sooner so he could come back to Jungkook faster. His lover awaited him and Jimin could already imagine the big smile on Jungkook's face once he brings him the camera. However, back at the house, Jungkook's eyes pried open and looked around the bed with such a scary glare. Noticing that Jimin wasn't by his side. The younger let out a huff of breath while he tried to sit up, but he was left on the bed like his legs were paralyzed. Yet, the boy felt as if he could take advantage of his time at the moment and look for the folder he feasted his eyes on before.
Soon, Jimin arrived to the store, he quickly stepped out of his car once he killed the engine, locked the car doors and made his way over to the entrance of the store to gaze through the glass doors and see many electronic devices put up on display. The man stepped in and walked over to the cash register to greet the cashier and mention that he ordered a camera that was ready for store pick up. Jimin held his phone up and showed proof of his purchase.
"Welcome! I'll bring you your camera." Said the female Cashier as she gazed at the older's smile. Making her smile as well. However, Jimin felt like this woman was a little off. Her long silk hair was put into a loose ponytail, she had a dark blue shirt for work tented over her torso as she always seemed to make such a smile with her dimples showing. It was moments like these, Jimin thought of the woman's sanity. He wondered how a woman like her could maintain such a big smile over anything.
"Oh, Thank you!" Jimin said as he looked down at the black counter. Gazing at his reflection. What he noticed was, this woman hid a tattoo on the back of her neck once she turned around. The older tilted his head, wondering what more could be hidden under that collar. It was just Jimin's curiousity towards this woman. She seemed out of it, yet, she always seemed to hold a smile over her grim face. The pale woman walked to the back as she moved her hair to the back, hiding the hint of her own tattoo from Jimin's eyes.
Very soon, the woman came back as she walked with the camera box in her hands. Making such a sweet smile once more. She looked young, pure and happy, however, she did look as if she had her fair share of bad days but smiles through it all. Jimin didn't even bother to know her name, he just thought she seemed a little off when it came to her smile. "Here you are, here's your camera."
"If it isn't too much trouble... Can you wrap it into a gift for me?" Jimin asked as he gave her a stare while his hands were stuffed into the pockets of his jeans. "It's a surprise for a friend." Jimin added. Being sure he never mentions the word 'boyfriend' to a random person he met with. Most people knew Jimin as the head Chief and a bit of the detective lead to the crimes as well. So to Jimin, it felt like he was constantly watching what he told a few people.
"For a friend? Well, this is such an expensive gift for just any type of friend." Said the woman and let out a giggle. "I'll get this wrapped for you." Said the woman as she turned around to place the camera over the table behind her where she took out gold wrapping paper. "Gold?"
"Yes. Thank you.." Jimin added as he looked back at what the young woman said about the expensive gift. Why should something like this matter to her? Jimin gripped onto the pockets of his jeans inside as he made sure he cut off all communication with her. It looked as if she hid many tales in her head.
"Jimin... Right?" Asked the woman unknowingly as Jimin tilted his head. "Oh it is you! The Chief!" Said the woman into a giggle as she turned her head over her shoulder to gaze back at Jimin. "How's Jungkook..?" Asked the woman as Jimin felt his heart drop.
"What Jungkook..?" Jimin asked as the woman let out another giggle.
"Your detective of course! Everyone knows the Chief's new detective. I've seen the two of you in crime scenes just across the street of my neighborhood. It's such a shame to hear what happened to Mr. Wong. I'm very close to the family... Did you go to the funeral?"
"Um... No. I'm just conducting the crime. Not a friend to them." Jimin continued as he looked at the woman turn away to gaze at the gift she was wrapping.
"I've heard many rumors... Are you and Jungkook, together? People around the neighborhood could see." The cashier said as Jimin also wondered how no one else was working in the store. Since it was the morning, business was bound to be slow at the small electronic store.
"No we aren't. He's just a detective." Jimin continued as the woman folded the shimmering gold wrap over the box of the camera. "I don't let anyone get in my way of work."
"Mrs. Wong also mentioned he is a mute... That must be really hard on him." Continued the woman as Jimin continued to glare at the woman. "Well, here you go! Thank you for the talk. It gets really lonely here!" She continued to say as Jimin accepted the swiftly made gift wrapped box.
"No one really comes here... Do they?"
"It's rare to see people head over this side of the town. It seems pretty shady around here." The young woman concluded as she held out her hand to shake with Jimin's. "My name is Yuja."
Jimin placed the box down and shook hands with the woman. Making her smile happily. "Nice to meet you. Stay safe." Jimin continued as he pulled his hand away from the woman's delicate hand before grabbing Jungkook's gift and turning around. Yuja was a just a worried civilian. Knowing that service would be slow around these streets, but she still managed to smile through it all. These were just a bit of the small things that stepped into Jimin's mind. Feeling a little off from the way she smiled at him every second. Jimin also thought it was weird, if the couple was too obvious now, what we're the odds of the criminals tracking down the mute detective?
Jimin got into his car safely and locked himself in his bulletproof car. The older let out a slight smile while he looked at the golden wrapped box over the camera and the white ribbon placed on top and onto the center so perfectly. Jimin wasted no other second to hurry back home to surprise Jungkook. This was what he was excited to see. Unaware that Jungkook was back home, looking through the man's office the best he could to find that folder.
The older stepped into the house silently as he made sure he closed the door quietly. Everything fell into silence as he could see from the first floor that the bedroom door up ahead was left open. This made Jimin grow suspicious as he walked up the steps. Keeping his eyes glued onto the top of the steps while his eyes focused at the top. He carried the gift up the steps as he noticed the office door was left open and this alone caused Jimin to let out a sigh. Noticing that Jungkook was attempting to find the folder.
"Jungkook! I'm home!" Jimin continued as the man walked over to the bedroom to see that the blanket was over the ground like it was dragged down. "Jungkook...?" Jimin asked again while he walked over to the office and peered in to see Jungkook just sitting on the desk and holding the folder with his head tilted to the side. Giving his King a glare while he sat there with his leg crossed over the other and his left hand planted onto the desk where he supported his body up. Holding the folder in his right hand and fixing his eyes over Park Jimin.
"Jungkook! I got you something..." Jimin claimed with a smile fixed over his face. But only then, Jungkook tossed the folder onto the ground with such force while his eyes pierced onto the photos that flew out the folder and spreaded across the office floor. "...Ugh, Jungkoo-"
'What the fuck is this? Why am I placed as a suspect with this evidence? Why are you dragging this everywhere? Do you trust Sehiro over me?' Jungkook signed quickly and furiously as Jimin walked up to the evidence on the ground and got down on his knees to pick it all up as he set the gift onto the ground.
"Calm down Jungkook, you know I cant keep up with your fast signs." Jimin claimed as Jungkook let out a huff of anger as he watched Jimin pick the folder up. "Besides, why... Would I say you're the one to blame when this evidence isn't accurate? Ah, Jungkook... I only kept this to say that Sehiro was the one that tried to accuse you of everything..." Jimin mentioned as Jungkook gulped and looked at Jimin. Watching the Chief stand up to carry the folder and the gift he had for Jungkook. "I trust you with all of me... Why would I do that to you? I believe you, you believe me. It's stupid if I begin to think you are the suspect. Everything in here was what Sehiro believed on why you were the perfect suspect when you clearly weren't!"
The Chief continued to support himself as he set the folder right by Jungkook and rose up the hand that carried the golden wrapped gift of the camera. "Don't pay attention to any of this... Focus on us. Here, I got this for you." Jimin added with the low tone to his voice that was close to a whisper. "I love you, Jungkook~" Jimin added with a smile as Jungkook looked at the gift and accepted it into his arms. Jimin then leaned in and sat next to Jungkook to give him a kiss on the neck and lay his head on his shoulder. "Open it."
Jungkook looked at Jimin and back at the gift while he teared open the gold wrapand took off the ribbon to see the box of a camera. Making Jungkook stop for a moment and look back at Jimin. Surprised the older would buy him such a thing to make up for his lost camera. 'Thank you so much! I love you!' Jungkook signed happily as he gave Jimin a big hug and forgot about how bad Sehiro tried to frame the younger. Only focusing on Jimin now as he felt Jimin press kisses onto the boy's cheek while he opened the box and gazed at the beautiful camera that caught his attention.
