Chapter 45: Caught

Jimin looked up as he let out a sigh. Placing the phone into his pocket and standing up. He felt like he could confront Sehiro alone. Deep down, he knew it was tough to believe that Sehiro was a suspect. He just knew the man too well to even say he was associated to criminal activity. It wasn't fair to Sehiro and one side of Jimin just hoped there was a better way to solve this without pressing charges against his close friend.

"Jungkook, I'll come back soon, I'm just going to get coffee." Jimin told the boy as Jungkook suddenly stood up. Wanting to follow the man everywhere.

'I want coffee too!' Jungkook signed excitingly as Jimin cleared his throat and looked back at the boy.

"You can't come with me, you're limping like crazy! Sit down and I'll bring you coffee and a muffin. Deal?" Jimin proposed as Jungkook nodded his head and pulled a smile before sitting back down and gazing at the older just walk up to the door of the office. "Good. I'll be back. Give me a moment." Jimin told Jungkook as he walked out of the office to look up ahead at a few officers.

"Officer Yu, Sang-wu, Kyumi, Seon-oh, come with me please." Jimin instructed some of the officers he called out on as they followed after the Chief. He found Sehiro innocent... But at times, he grew too paranoid when it came to trusting people who were close to him. He sometimes believed the speculations of Riyu Sehiro. And then at other times, he ignored them and thought, "He's not that bad. I know him." Jimin would think to himself as he would have his doubts.

The Chief approached the office door of his Officer while he walked up to it and looked back at the officers right behind him. "Wait here. If you hear me shout, you all have to run in there and get Officer Riyu." Jimin added. "Guard me from there." The Chief demanded as he watched the officers nod their heads. Jimin gave them the nod as he stepped into the office to see Sehiro looking down at his desk. Once Jimin stepped in, he looked up with a smile and brushed his black silk hair to the side.

"Park Jimin! Oh you're here... I thought you'd never show up for me..." Sehiro added as he stood up. Still wearing his uniform like he wasn't accused of anything. "It's been a horrible week for me... I'm now a 'suspect' and no one would believe me when I tell them something. I need you to help me!"

"Riyu Sehiro, you know I can't side with you. I'm the Chief. You're a suspect. They'll drag me into this too! Sehiro, Jungkook and... I... Think you're going insane..." Jimin continued as he placed his hands on his hips and tilted his head. "You need help."

"You can't tell me I need help... What wrong did I do..?"

"Everything... Everthing is wrong about you, Sehiro. You're growing insane. You walked into the office just yesterday and punched my detective. What did you expect out of that? A trophy?"

"Listen, Jimin... I was worried. It's not like you to miss a day at the station. I suspected something wrong happened to you when Jungkook was sitting at your desk. I just went off." Sehiro claimed as Jimin folded his arms and looked down with a sigh. "Chief... Please say something."

"I don't know what to say to you..." Jimin added and placed his hand over his face. "Officer, tell me what you have to say so I could be on my way." Jimin sighed while Sehiro smiled and walked over to his desk where he pulled up a small yellow folder file.

"It's all in here! I told you I'd find ways to make the prince look ugly and little did you know, the ugly relies skin deep..." Sehiro claimed as he pushed the file forward and made a smile. "Open it and take a look, my Chief." Claimed the Officer as Jimin stepped up and grabbed the file slowly. Seeing there was a few papers within it.

"Before I get to the file... How do you know what I call the detective...? Prince?" Jimin wondered as Sehiro started to chuckle.

"I never knew that, Jimin. You call Jungkook prince? That's an off codename." The Officer continued to chuckle.

"C-Codename? No... You know what I call him! You've known this... You're jealous of what I have with him."

"Me? Why should I be jealous? You have something with the kid? I didn't know that at all!" Sehiro continued to reply to Jimin's words, but all Jimin heard was excuses.

"RM told me when you were at the stakeout, you complained about how Jungkook and I being something. You grew jealous..."

"Ah, I... I won't lie to you... I was... Jimin, I won't hide the fact that I... Felt something for you, but you know I married to gain citizenship! Asking you to marry me.. Felt like it wouldn't work. I feared you would reject me." Sehiro confessed as Jimin stepped back and let out an exhale while looking down. "When RM mentioned your father was a matchmaker, I grew jealous because he chose Jungkook for you... Not me. Not the one that was by your side since day one!"

"My father isn't a matchmaker! Besides, how... how do you expect him to choose someone who's married for me? My father won't give me off to anyone. You missed your chance with me... Because I waited for you until you married her. I moved on." Jimin concluded. Thinking on why RM chose to tell Sehiro about his father being a Matchmaker. There was no such thing to it and Jimin knew it was a lie. Was it just used to toy with the officer at the stakeout?

Jimin opened the file as he looked at a picture of Jungkook, taken from a distance. "Jungkook...? You think Jungkook could be a suspect? What's wrong with you?!"

"L-Listen, Jimin! I have evidence!" Sehiro added as he ran up to the folder and took the file to point out the evidence he has gathered. "Look... At the time of the stakeout.. He was out shopping for groceries, correct? Why would he be up at this hour? The time of the gun shot was around 4:30-ish? In the morning! Which so happens to be the time Jungkook was not at the store!"

"Sehiro you idiot you do not know at what hour the detective went off to buy groceries!" Jimin complained as Sehiro turned to the last page of the file and showed there was a print of the video surveillance of the detective at the cash register around 5:00 AM.

"FIVE IN THE MORNING! AFTER THE ACCIDENT!" Sehiro added with a big smile. "If he took his car, he would have been there during the time Namjoon was shot."

"Jungkook went walking! Besides, you don't even know at what hour he went off to purchase groceries. He doesn't own a car and walking from the grocery store and to the gang location would have taken him a long time! Taken by the fact that Jungkook doesn't even know where it is! He has never been there before..." Jimin complained as Sehiro grew silent. "How did you even know that the detective went there to purchase groceries?"

"Because it's close to your place."

"How did you know Detective Jeon was in my house at that hour?" Jimin wondered as Sehiro grew silent again. "Officer Riyu... This evidence is pointless. You're having an episode now. Just admit it, admit it that you're in the gang and commited those murders!"

"Jimin, If I was in the gang, you would have been killed already! There's no way I would kill you, Jimin... I promise you..." Sehiro claimed as he walked forward with the file in his hands. "Jungkook... Could be the suspect. Not me!"

"No he isn't! Your evidence isn't as close as the speculations we hold against you. Sehiro... I'm sorry, but you have to hand over your badge now this is unacceptable! You can't hurt the detective and try to frame him!" Jimin said as Sehiro shook his head and walked over to the curtains and drew them open to welcome the morning sun. However, as soon as he pulled the curtains open, the gleam of the sunlight shined into the room and caused something within the room to gleam through the reflection of the sunlight.

Jimin suddenly covered his eyes at the gleam shining against his eyes and causing him to back up and shield his view. "Ah w-what the fuck is that?" Jimin asked as Sehiro's eyes grew wide.

"T-The cars outside!" The officer panicked as Jimin turned his head to look over to what caused it, only then, his eyes dropped onto a gleam of a silver blade shining within the closet of the officer's room. "Jimin!"

"W-What is this?" Jimin asked as he bolted to the closet and pulled the door open to see a katana just sitting there in the closet. "Sehiro... Why do you have this here with you?"

"Jimin! I was framed! It wasn't me I swear! I found this in my office and I was going to report it to you, but then I needed to talk to you about what I found!" Sehiro continued as Jimin backed up as the katana still sat in the closet there with the handle stained with blood. "If I was to show it to you... You wouldn't believe me.. Please... Please tell me you believe me." Sehiro begged as Jimin shook his head.

"Hand over the badge... NOW!" Jimin rose his voice, causing the man to flinch and start to tear up. "Sehiro... Do as I say... I don't want to see you at this station and you better find a good lawyer now." Jimin continued as Sehiro only balled his hands into fists.

"JIMIN, I'M INNOCENT! IT'S JUNGKOOK!" Sehiro continued and only then, the officers kicked the door open as their hands were hovering over thier tasers. "It's Jungkook.."

"The badge, Sehiro..." Jimin said as tears started to fall from his eyes. "I can't believe you would do this and press your accusations on Jungkook when you've been hiding the katana all along..." Jimin added with a slight sob as Jungkook poked his head from around the doorway to see Jimin standing there. The boy longed to step in, but Jimin would shout and tell him to go back to the office. Leaving Jungkook to stand there and wait. "Stay back, Jungkook..." Jimin added. Noticing that Jungkook was peering from around the corner.

"Jimin... You said you'd be my friend either way... Believe me and stay on my side..." Sehiro continued as Jimin looked away. He never liked doing this to others, especially his own best friend he loved a long time ago. Jimin suddenly remembered what Jungkook signed to him about. To take the badge and don't hesitate in pity. And that's what Jimin did. He looked at the officer in the eyes and demanded the badge.

"BADGE. NOW, RIYU!" Jimin shouted while Jungkook flinched at the sudden shout that caused some officers and dispatchers outside to pay attention.

"Give the Chief the badge, Officer... And no one gets hurt.." One of the female officers claimed while Jimin had his hand out. Only then, Sehiro took off his badge and walked up to Jimin and gave it to the Chief with tears falling from his eyes. By now, Jimin's tears began to dry as he accepted the officer's badge before walking out of the office and leaving the officers to surround Sehiro and the evidence of the katana sitting in the closet where the man hid it on his own.

Jimin walked out of the office with the badge in his hands while Jungkook looked at Jimin. Only then, the Chief placed his arm around Jungkook and walked with the detective to their own office. Waiting for Sehiro to be escorted out of the station so they could search through his office afterwards.
