Chapter 24: Mistakes

Jungkook poured coffee into the mug he was going to serve to Jimin and added sugar into the cup of hot coffee as he looked up to see the lightning flash and cause a big thunder clap from a distance. Jungkook began to worry about RM and even Sehiro because they were all out there and Jungkook couldn't help but to hold a concerned face. No one knew how he felt inside towards every situation, but he did a good job displaying his emotions through his facial expressions.

The boy walked over to the office as he pried the door ajar and peered his gaze in to see Jimin just leaning on the office chair. Holding his phone up on speaker right by his head so he could listen to his team. "Stop arguing over the crab and leave it alone, Sehiro. It's not bothering you." Jimin laughed. Jungkook stepped in and set the coffee down close against the laptop as he looked up at Jimin to see him smile at his lover once more as he turned to face the window after he snapped his fingers and pointed to the laptop. Just so Jungkook could do something and watch over the officers and point something out if he sees something out of place. That was  Jimin's small job for Jungkook.

Thunder grew louder as Jimin approached the window and looked out to see the branches of trees swaying back and forth. "How did it get this rough?" Jimin asked as Jungkook looked back at the older and back at the screen. There was printed notes of evidence as beneath the laptop and surrounding the device as Jungkook tilted his head to look at the information they have gathered.

"Mother nature could be a bitch sometimes. Trying to kill us all in a storm." Sehiro added as he cleared his throat. "Namjoon, if we get held hostage by these gang members, I vote to sacrifice your crab." Sehiro joked and this made the Dispatcher gasp.

"No! I spoiled this hermit crab! He's a purple pincher. The best of his kind. Well, in my own words that is. I spent so much money on his aquarium and I have a few more at home." Namjoon testified as Sehiro and Jimin grew silent before laughing. "Stop laughing at me! I'm so lonely in that big house of mines."

"Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen your house. Is it really that big? I've heard you love to save money and you've made a fortune. Is it true?" Jimin wondered as RM chuckled happily. Holding a big smile since he felt happy he was being talked about for once.

"Yes! When I'm not a Dispatcher, I like to work on my accountant job. Takes a lot of hard work but it works out in the end." Namjoon mentioned.

"The two of you are bonding now! I knew I'd see the day that the two of you would stop arguing for once." Jimin said happily while Namjoon laughed and changed the conversation.

"How's Jungkook? Is he there?" RM wondered as Jimin looked back to see Jungkook staring at the screen. Determined not to part his gaze even once. "Tell him I said hi!"

"Yes, he's watching over you all. Jungkook, Namjoon says Hi!" Jimin said while Jungkook rose a thumbs up. "He gave a thumbs up." Jimin replied while he could practically imagine the older smiling.

"What's the thumbs up for?" Sehiro wondered while Namjoon was happy to respond.

"It just means he heard me. It's no sign language. That's how we communicate. Give each other signs like that. I'm glad I met someone I can talk to through sign language! Sehiro, you should learn it too. Jungkook is such a nice guy." The Dispatcher told the officer while Jungkook listened to the conversation while Jimin did too.

"No, I don't see myself learning that language. I have too much on my plate. Thank you." Sehiro answered as Jimin let out another laugh.

"You're just being rude. If we are going to be a team, you need to get along with Jungkook. See? You are getting along with Namjoon, why not Jungkook?" Jimin asked and made Jungkook grow distracted to hear this.

"I will on my own time." Sehiro added blankly. "I can't force myself to like someone but I will pay attention to what type of person he is. Takes me a while. I don't trust anyone." Sehiro stated while Namjoon jumped into the conversation once again.

"Do you trust me?" Namjoon asked as the officer grew silent. "Do you trust Jimin?"

"I don't trust you, but I trust Jimin. I knew him longer than the both of you. No hard feelings. I'm just very protective over my life and you all should be too. You never know what could happen." Concluded Sehiro. He was right, he alone was the one that placed these words into Jimin's head and made him a little paranoid. But the both of them were the same. Having trust issues and even growing afraid of many possibilities. This was the main thing RM didn't like about Sehiro secretly. He didn't like how he alone made Jimin feel like he should be afraid of every little thing in his life. What was an innocent reminder of keeping your guard up, resulted in Jimin's paranoia along with Officer Riyu's.

Jimin listened to the officer and thought on it. He never felt paranoid before but now he was. He felt constant offs about people he came across and it didn't let up until he knew more about them. It was a great thing to the Officer, but to the Chief, it made him tough to talk to. That was his outter and hard shell Jungkook had to break through before. Just as Jimin grew silent and thought on this, Jungkook snapped his fingers, instantly grabbing his attention as Jungkook looked at Jimin with worry.

"Guys, I think Jungkook saw something!" Jimin added as he walked up to the office desk and looked at the laptop while he placed his phone down. "What is it? Where?" Jimin panicked as Jungkook swiftly moved his hand....resulting in the hot cup of coffee to tip over to the laptop and suddenly make the screen go dark. This made Jimin's eyes widened as Jungkook jumped back and cupped his face in shock. Starting to pace back so Jimin wouldn't get angry at him.

"Jimin? What's going on? Tell us where!" RM panicked as Jimin face palmed and remained silent. "..Jimin?"

"Jungkook! Who on earth told you to set the coffee close to the laptop?!" Jimin rose his voice while the younger looked down. Feeling embarrassed as his face held a sad pout.

"Hey, Jimin it can't be that bad..." Sehiro added in. Feeling a little surprised since he has never heard Jimin get this angry, yet worried at the same time.

"The evidence and surveillance is all gone, Jungkook! Be more careful okay?!" Jimin shouted. He couldn't be fully angry. He was worried and started to panic since his laptop suddenly turned off and Jimin tried to use a nearby napkin to wipe the hot coffee from the keyboard. "N-No.. No... Turn on! Since when did this stupid laptop become so weak?! I thought it was waterproof!" Jimin continued to shout while tears started to stream from Jungkook's face. The boy then stepped up so he could help, but Jimin only rose the mug and handed it to Jungkook. "Just... Go get me more coffee." Jimin said while RM and Sehiro was left silent and shocked Jimin started to shout at Jungkook. Something they never expected to hear.

Jungkook shook his head, trying to gather the evidence on paper and shake it dry. Trying so desperately to help but Jimin was only stressed now. "WHAT ARE YOU?! DEAF TOO?! JUNGKOOK JUST GO DO AS YOUR TOLD!" Jimin shouted out of the stress that piled onto him. Unaware that he made the boy cry even more. Causing him to run out of the room since he was sensitive deep down.

"JIMIN!" Sehiro rose his voice and made Jimin flinch and look back at the phone. "It's not a big deal! Calm down!" Sehiro added and this made Jimin look back at his laptop and try to turn it on.

"I-I can't turn my laptop on and I can't watch over you all! If an officer dies tonight, I'll be the one to blame!" Jimin continued while RM sighed.

"Jimin, we'll be alright. Go talk to Jungkook. You know how he is." RM said. Worrying more about Jimin's bond with Jungkook than a little coffee spill.

"Are you crazy?! This is serious! We can't be left out here to get killed by those gang members!" Sehiro added. He too felt a little bad that Jimin yelled at his own partner. He never knew he would hear Jimin shout like that. He was stressed and he panicked. Sehiro had to jump in and tell the man to calm down.

"We have all of the officer's backs. Just don't make any sudden movements to jolt the car and don't drag attention. Pay attention to the officers and we'll contact them too. Jimin, we'll be alright." RM assured while Jimin covered his face from all the endless thoughts that could become reality tonight. "I'll call you if anything happens." RM added as Sehiro gulped. Feeling like he was about to lose it too. "Goodbye." Namjoon concluded and hung up the call. Just then, the lights started to flicker. Showing that the power was going to switch off.

The room then fell into darkness and everything was silent. All Jimin could hear was the loud thunder roaring outside along with the rain dropping onto the windows of his office room. Jimin took a moment to collect himself as he rolled his hair back and exhaled after. "What did I just do?" Jimin asked himself and turned his laptop to rest on it's side so the coffee could drip out as he let out an exhale to use his phone as a flashlight. The man exited the office and flashed the bright, white, light of his homescreen to guide his way out of the room. He could hear sobbing as he walked up to the top of the steps and gazed at Jungkook who was hugging a flashlight and crying to himself while the fireplace was on now.

"Jungkook... I'm sorry.. I-I was just worried..." Jimin said as he got down the steps to meet with the silent prince who sat on the floor in front of the fireplace with a blanket to avoid getting cold. "I'm so sorry... I feel horrible for shouting at you like that!" Jimin continued as Jungkook ignored the older's words and continued to hug his knees and press his head facing down while he let out slight sobs. "I'm such an idiot... I wasn't paying attention to what I was saying. Ah, you don't know how upset I am with myself... Please.. Please do something... Do something so I can know how to make it up to you! Call me anything you want! I'm such a disgusting jerk... You don't deserve something like that..." Jimin added while Jungkook rose his head and wiped his tears.

The boy dared to look Jimin in the eyes as he let out a sniff while he signed to Jimin. Finishing the sign with his index in contact with his thumb while the rest of his fingers spread out like a perfect sign laying sideways.

"Yes... I'm an asshole..." Jimin added as he let out a small tear from how horrible he felt and looked at the boy. "I wanted to protect you but all I did was hurt you... Please know that I didn't mean it, Jungkook..." Jimin whispered as he looked up ahead at the fireplace that was on and giving off warmth. "Please forgive me..." Jimin whispered as he moved in and hugged the younger in apology.

Jungkook still wiped his tears from those harsh words Jimin told him. But the actions Jimin displayed to his lover was far more stronger than just words to apologize. The silent prince slowly rose his hands up Jimin's firm muscles just above the dress shirt and pulled him closer against his body. "I never meant to hurt you..." Jimin continued while the fire burning the logs gave off silent crackles of the wood burning and filling the room with warmth.

Jimin silenced himself and continued to hug Jungkook close until he felt the younger raise his head up along with his gentle hands to cup Jimin's face to focus on him. 'I love you.' Jungkook mouthed those words in a way to forgive and Jimin was able to read his lips. Knowing the boy would never hate him but, just grow a little upset. In Jungkook's book, hate was too much of a strong word that he could never associate Jimin with. Even if Jimin piled up his anger on the boy with mean words, Jungkook couldn't hold them against Jimin. The Prince loved his King.

"I love you too." The Chief apologized and made a smile before pressing his head in closer to kiss the boy softly. Nothing but Jungkook's soft and sharp breaths could be heard in between the kiss as Jimin listened to those small sounds Jungkook could make. The older then gently pressed the boy back onto the floor and continued to kiss him while a smile appeared on the both of their faces through it all.
