Chapter 23: Now or never

Sehiro stormed out of the room and this left Jimin to let out a chuckle as he gazed back at Jungkook who was busy smiling and looking down. "He gets like that when he isn't on my team. You know, before you, he was on my team. Very friendly... But only to me." Jimin stated as he stood up and adjusted the cuffs on his dress shirt. "Let's get some coffee. Don't worry about them. They'll end up doing what I want. As always."

Jungkook nodded his head and followed Jimin out the office. Following him anywhere around the station. They would get stares from some of the officers, but Jungkook would only smile to himself and walk alongside Jimin and give others a small hint they were together. Out of everything,  Jungkook wanted to go public with his relationship with Jimin, yet that alone could drag them both to their demise. The two then reached the office as Jimin looked back at Jungkook and stepped up to the coffee machine.

"Was he giving you a glare again?" Jimin wondered and asked the younger. The boy nodded his head while Jimin only let out a sigh. "Ugh, he just won't stop. He likes to be my favorite... What ever that means. I just don't like it at all... He gets a little too obsessive. Is that something I should be worried about? He has a wife and I'm pretty sure they'll have a child soon. Not sure if she's pregnant or not, but she mentioned it to me once. That's something." Jimin claimed while Jungkook kept his stare at Jimin. Listening and paying close attention. "He's married. I don't know why he wants to act like this, but I hate it... He's hurting your feelings and I don't like it one bit. I said I was going to protect you from anything, so I have to tell him to knock it off... He's getting too creepy and he has never been like this before.

Jungkook remained silent as he listened to Jimin's complaints. It was enough to worry since Sehiro looked as if he was starting to catch the gist of what their relationship could be about... This made Jungkook just feel a little worried. If everyone was to find out, they would have no choice but to split. It wasn't fair but Jungkook felt that was something Jimin would do to protect him. Yet, it would just be pointless and lead him to a broken heart. That was enough to make the younger despise that thought and try to think positive in such a scary position.

"I'll have a little talk with him... He's never been like this. Towards Namjoon, he just criticizes him for everything, but to you? I think he might pick up what we have here... Either way it's no business to a married man." Jimin hissed. Apparently, all that fueled this slight anger was the fact that before Jungkook came along, Jimin was head over heels for the older Officer. He admired him and the older gave him mixed signals.. All that really came of it was an invitation to his wedding so Jimin could be the best man. This shattered the young Chief's heart but he was able to mend it again and say there were no hard feelings.

On the other hand, deep down, there was hard feelings tied with the jealousy he had to put up for so long. But ever since Jungkook walked into his world, that flame of green jealousy was put out. There was nothing that guarded his heart and he learned to move on... But just thinking of the Officer messing around with Jungkook and constantly bothering him, was enough for the Chief to feel as if the Officer was a little jealous. How could he? After all, he was a married man.

The two began to prepare their own cups of coffee as Jimin just stood there in silence. Thinking all about what just happened between Jungkook and the officer. This made him upset and caused him to grow silent the whole time from the anger and concern he had within him. Very soon, they had to head home and Jimin took Jungkook back to his house for the night.

Once they were on their way home, rain started to fall from the skies and Jimin knew there will be a thunderstorm quite similar to the one that hit last time. It was the same that day the couple actually met. Jungkook gazed out the windows, seeing the raindrops beat onto the window so gently. Recently, Jungkook has been sitting on the passenger's seat next to Jimin so he could communicate with the man in case he needed something. Jungkook then looked over at his lover silently and pointed to the rain.

"Yes, I know... They'll be fine. It's just a little rain but I told them if it takes too long and the weather gets rough, they should fall out from the mission just to be safe. Ah, it's just that simple. We'll find the gang's hideout. There is just too many..." Jimin whispered as Jungkook shrugged and rose his hands to sign out his words.

'They'll be okay. It's just some rain.' Jungkook signed as he looked at Jimin. 'That's what happened last time. It didn't harm me.' The boy gestured and dropped his hands down after Jimin just read what he meant in his head.

"You almost died of hypothermia. Of course you didn't feel any harm because I was the one that helped you." Jimin laughed as they eventually reached home. Jimin parked his car at the driveway and gazed out the window to see that the rain was slowly getting tough and Jimin just couldn't help but to worry. "Do you... Think they'll bail out of the stakeout? Wondered the older as Jungkook once again, balled his hand into a fist and knocked it sideways to say 'yes.'

"I see... Let's just get to the house now. It'll rain too tough and we'll have to stay in here if we take too long." Jimin told the boy and stepped out of the car along with Jungkook to reach the house. The two hurried to the house before the rain could grow rough and this made Jimin worry. What if they get hurt out in the rain? They'd always avoid trouble when they were with Jimin on a stakeout. This was the first one Jimin stood down from and all he could have in mind was fear of the stakeout being fled or even dropped.

The Chief walked into the house as Jungkook quickly closed the door shut and locked it. Hearing the wind howling through the cracks of the window. Jungkook quickly turned on the lights and let out an exhale once he gazed up at the older. 'What now?' The boy signed as Jimin smiled at Jungkook.

"You could do what you please, I'll be trying to see if I could access a live footage of the street they will be having the stakeout." Jimin claimed as Jungkook looked over to the kitchen and gazed back at Jimin. The boy then rolled his hands into fists and placed them on top of each other before rubbing it in a circular motion over his bottom fist. Just like he was mixing something. Signing to Jimin a phrase.

"Coffee? Oh of course! I haven't had coffee since the morning. Oh, Jungkook, make sure you find some candles and batteries for the flashlights. The power might go out." Jimin advised the boy while Jungkook was quick to run into to the kitchen and look for some batteries and to prepare the coffee as Jimin walked to his office to watch through to live surveillance. Trying to contact the Dispatcher and Officer to talk to them and guide them.

Jimin stepped into his office while the lightning flashed just beyong the blinds of the windows and the silk curtains. The older walked to his desk as he sat down on his officer chair and turned on his laptop to try reaching out surveillance. He was able to track the surveillance because he was the Chief and every time there was a stakeout, he allowed either Sehiro or RM to watch over the surveillance and make sure he stayed safe. Now it was his turn to ensure the safety of his friends.

Jimin set up the surveillance, clicking onto the secured program that was installed to his laptop just for stakeouts. Jimin clicked onto it and added the street address he wrote down on paper before as he began to contact RM's phone number. Calling again and again until he answered. Just then, the car finally pulled up by the shady streets. Now, the camera was only pointed in one direction. Therefore, they couldn't be able to track them down through cameras since it couldn't move even once. That's why they needed a stakeout to take place since they needed a human eye to look around the places that weren't visible to the cameras.

"Hello?" Answered RM on the other line as Jimin smiled and looked at how the car pulled up by the lampost that had the camera pointed down and recording from an aerial view.

"Hey, RM! How are things? Are you both doing well?" Jimin asked as he could hear Officer Riyu scoff.

"No I'm not! He brought his crab and it's crawling around in it's cage! It creeps me out..." Sehiro added while RM chuckled and placed Jimin on speaker.

"Focus, Sehiro. It'll be over soon. Hold on tight you just have to sit there and observe anything that looks shady. Take notes and follow if you have to!" Jimin claimed as RM took a good look around the grim streets that poured with loud beating rain.

"These streets are grim... There's something off here..." RM added while Sehiro jumped in once more.

"Don't you ever send me out here with this man. It's getting weird over here and the loud rain makes it more shady... There's gotta be something going on..." Officer Riyu pointed out as Jimin tapped his fingers onto the desk.

"Did you make sure you tinted the windows so no one can look in and did you turn off the car? Did you travel there without headlights?" Jimin wondered while RM responded with a yes. Showing that they were already set for the stakeout.

"I also brought out police officers and they are doing a stakeout too. There are some hidden of course. But they're all here." Said the Dispatcher while Jimin smiled. Feeling as it this was enough to catch at least a criminal sneaking out of the hideout so the location could be taken down and catch all of the gang members at once.

"That's great! Make sure you all stay awake. I'll be doing the same too and being your extra eye. Just in case the power drops, my laptop has been charged and I am ready to guide you all." Jimin said as he split the screen to reach out to other surveillances where other officers were hiding for the stakeout. For a good while, they remained silent as the rain made it difficult for Jimin to look after his officers. There was a fear rising within him. What if he dozes off and risks the life of almost eight officers on duty?

Jimin tried to shake off the thought and was grateful Jungkook was willing to benefit by making enough coffee for Jimin. Even if Jungkook couldn't do much, he was prepared just in case there would be a power outage. Jimin was paranoid of many things so, Jungkook made it his top priority to set chairs under the door knobs of the front door and back door so no one could break in, lock the windows and make enough coffee for Jimin so he could stay up and guide his team. Out of the many things Jimin has done for Jungkook, the silent prince couldn't let the man down at all.
