(Anna's POV)

I was trapped in this dark place. It felt peaceful and wrong at the same time. I don't remember how I got here. All I know is I want to leave. I heard voices. Familiar voices. Whispers sent chills down my spine.

I couldn't feel anything. I was numb. Something was missing. I felt empty. I felt lost. I just want to get back to my family. I could hear them. Ali and Alex. Alex was talking to Ali. I could just barely make out what he was saying.

I felt my body floating towards them. I could see a light. I followed it. As soon as I could touch the light, I could see everything. Tate was standing by Alex with a hand on his shoulder.

Alex had his hands on Ali's little face. Alex had tears in his eyes. I could see he was holding back. What was wrong? Am I dead?

"Everything is going to be okay. I promise. Daddy will make things right. You won't have to hide anymore. No one will hurt our family. I love you and mommy, so much. Take care of her until I get back. Mommy is going to need you. You listen to grandma and your aunt Rain. They will take good care of you while I'm gone. You know what to do," He was saying to Ali.

What is he talking about? This must be a dream. I want to wake up. To run to him. To feel his arms wrap around me. To be held and kissed by him. I want him. The more I wanted him, the more I drifted away.

"No. Don't take me away! Alex! Ali! Can't you hear me?" I yelled.

I watched Alex kiss her forehead, and Tate kissed her hand and smiled. Everything then went blurry, as I faded back into the black abyss.

(Rain's POV)

I was walking down the hall, to check on Anna when I seen a glowing light coming from her room. I looked through the crack in the door, to see Anna floating in the air on her back. I wasn't as worried, until I seen something unexpected.

Ali had her hands raised in the air, palms facing Anna. I opened the door, and watched in awe. The sight had me curious. I'd never seen anything like this. It was just as beautiful as it was breath taking.

Is this what Alex meant when he told Ali to take care of Anna? I don't know what she is doing, but Anna had a smile on her face. That was until Ali started to lower her. She had the saddest look on her face. It was heartbreaking.

I understood in that moment that pain and longing that she must feel. The feeling of being scared of the outcome of this new war amongst us creatures. We both wish for the same thing, and that is for our men to come home to us in one piece.

As soon as Anna was on the bed again, Ali turned around and walked out the door. Her eyes never met mine, as if I wasn't even there. She even closed the door behind her. When the door shut, my attention was turned back to Anna.

"Alex!" She yelled as she sat up gasping for air.

She looked at me confused. I didn't know what to say. I definitely didn't want to tell her about Ali's ability, especially if she doesn't know she has it. Also, we don't know what ability it is. I have never seen anything like it. Then again, I never seen a vampire baby being born either.

Anna and Alex had been the first of vampires to have a baby in over 100 years. Times have changed. So has the mixed breeds of creatures. I'm a mixture of witch in training and turned vampire. As for Ali she was born two different creatures in one; turned a banshee in the womb but a vampire by blood.

"Rain? What's going on?" She asked me.

"Well, you fell asleep in the car, because Alex had Tate put a sleeping spell on you. They left a few hours ago. He says he's sorry you didn't get to say goodbye. Before he left, he kissed you and you smiled. It was rather quite beautiful, like sleeping beauty," I said trying to make the situation better.

"He left already? Wait... He had Tate put a sleeping spell on me?" She asked as her eyes swelled up.

Hearing the sadness in her voice, broke my heart in a way that words couldn't even begin to explain. I felt the same way. I now realize why Alex did what he did.

"Yes... I can understand if you are mad and upset, but it was for the best. He knew that you wouldn't be able to handle a goodbye," I said as I rubbed my arm with my hand.

"I did see him..." Was her shocking choice of words.

(Anna's POV)

I couldn't explain that feeling, no matter how hard I tried. All I know is that I know what I had seen. I seen Alex before he left. As if I was having a premonition. Or I was astro-projecting in my sleep.

"What do you mean you seen him? You were asleep the whole time," She said with a confused look on her face.

"I can't explain it. It was amazing. It was like a dream, but felt so real. I could feel my body floating. As if the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders," I said.

She smiled as if she knew something, but her smile was gone as soon as she realized I had seen it. I raised an eyebrow, and she backed away. I watched as she put a hand on the door knob. Could she still be afraid of me, for what I had done to her the night I was rescued. When I had attacked her, and Kane had me do it to her again.

"I was just coming to tell you... that ummm... dinner is done.

"I really hope your not still scared of me. I really didn't know how to control myself. I'm sure you understand, the first night you changed must have been the same experience for you," I said as I reached a hand out.

"I'm not scared. Also, that night we left, Damon and I found a hotel to stay at and I had him tie me up before I fed. I won't drink human blood. I feast off of animals. I've been fed from, and I refuse to do the same to other people... innocent people," She said as she opened the door.

"I've been fed from too. Alex and Damon both have fed from me. I know what it feels like from both sides... but there's a way to take away the pain," I said.

"Yeah, well I never experienced the taking away of the pain. You have to remember I was a slave for years. Years I had to suffer agonizing pain. I want him dead, just as much as anyone, maybe even more. As far as Damon goes, I never knew he fed from you, but he no longer drinks from humans," Rain said before she turned to walk out the door.

"I hope you know I'm sorry. Also I'm sorry for not having this conversation sooner," I said as I touched her arm.

She looked back and smiled at me.

"I forgive you. Now lets go eat," She said with a laugh.

I smiled as I followed her. After we entered the kitchen, I seen Ceciellia sitting with Ali at the table. There was spaghetti on four plates, and wine glasses filled with a red liquid. I eyed the glasses, and Ceciellia noticed.

"I filled the three of yours with with what you needed. I'm having wine. If you want some, it's in the cabinet. Help yourselves. I think we all need a drink," Ceciellia said as Rain and I sat down.

"I'll drink to that," Rain said as she raised her glass.

"Cheers," I said.

"Here's to us, our boys, and hopes of putting an end to this war Kane has started," Ceciellia said.

We clinked our glasses together, before taking a sip. As soon as the bitter sweet red liquid hit my lips, I felt so much. I couldn't remember the last time I fed. All I knew, is that I didn't want to stop. I could only imagine how Ali feels about this. I look over at my baby girl, to my surprise she was already looking at me and smiling.

"Drink up baby, you don't want to get sick," I said.

She lifted her sippy cup to her mouth. She drank it like it was nothing to her. The taste didn't bother her. Then again it's in her nature, as a vampire, the need to feed by drinking blood.

There's so many things that I had learned about vampires, that I would've never known as a human. We don't burn in the sun, it just weakens us. We don't need to feed from humans. We can't drink from the dead, but we can drink blood from blood bags that was extracted from a living thing. We all have special powers, some have the same powers.

Crosses don't hurt us. Holy water doesn't burn. We don't need to be told were allowed to come into someone's home. We don't sparkle in the sun. We still have emotions, depending on how in touch we are with humanity. We can have children, without them turning into monsters. We have life mate's. Some beings that are hybrids have more than one mate.

The rumors were created by the original vampires, in order to protect themselves as well as allow them to walk amongst the humans undetected.

For the longest time, it's been against the rules for beings to become hybrids. Kane had messed up the system, but then again so did Ali. I look at my daughter and I don't see destruction. I see a beautiful little girl, a cursed girl. One that if Kane knew about, he would try to take away. I will do whatever I can to protect her.
