My Nightmare

(Alice's POV)

I was about to grab the baby girl, when a powerful force hit me from the side. My body hit the hard stone wall. I looked up slowly, feeling so weak. He approached me with a smile.

"I've been waiting for this day," James said as he approached me.

"Isn't it strange to look forward to your death?" I asked as I attempted to stand up.

He kicked me hard in the abdomen, knocking the wind out of me.

"The only one dying here today is you, Alice," He said as he gripped me up by my hair.

Behind him I could see my friends and parents. They were fighting with Sophia,Kane, and what remained of their army. Sophia and two other vampires were fighting against Ceciellia, Salena, and the other three witches. Tate, Alex, and Damon were fighting Kane and a couple other hybrids.

Anna and Rain were fighting against three demons. Luna and Caleb were both in wolf form, fighting off three Lycans, which are a vampire and wolf hybrid. The Immortals were surrounded by the other hybrids Kane had made.

We were outnumbered. This was it. This was the end. My eyes met James's. He had this cruel smile on his face, his fangs bearing. My claws were buried in his arms, but it seemed to not phase him. His hands gripped my throat. I couldn't breath.

"Alice," I could hear someone yelling my name.

I was too weak to look to see who it was. In that moment, I could feel my body giving up. I had failed to reach my full power. All my hopes had gone down the drain. My eyes fell onto the baby girl laying on the bed. Above the bed I could see Tara and Emrick's names carved in the wall. That was the last thing I seen before my vision went fuzzy.

I continued to hear my name being called, as I faded into a black abyss. My body felt as if it were falling. Falling endlessly. I could see a light in the distance. Slowly my body pulled towards it. Once my body hit the light, I could finally breath.

I sat up in Tate's bed gasping for air. My vision finally returned. Tate was still naked, sitting in front of me. He was cupping my face. I could feel the steamy tears dripping down my face.

"Alice," He said in a concerned tone.

I couldn't find the words I wanted to say. There was a bubble caught in my throat.

"You were screaming and floating in the air. What happened?" He asked confused.

I shook my head, no words came out. He held me in his arms, and I just cried. If I had every ability and they were coming through, I really hope that was a vision of the future. It was either that, or Sophia was playing tricks with my head. I hated that she had that bond with me.

He ran his fingers through my hair, as he kissed my forehead. I felt so safe in his arms, yet so weak. There was a knock on the door. I looked at Tate, who nodded his head.

He handed me one of his shirts and I threw on my undies. He got dressed in a white shirt and jeans. I admired him. Even though he had changed so much since the 5 years that had passed, I still seen the man I loved when I looked at him.

He opened the door, to see Ali standing at the door. She had a smile on her face and a tray of food and two glasses. A large stack of pancakes, along with a cup filled with blood as well as a glass of milk. After Tate took the tray from her, we followed her out to the living room, where everyone was sitting and eating their breakfast. The aroma of blood filled my nostrils. It was strong.

"Someone really needs to feed," Anna said as she looked at me.

It wasn't until I looked in the mirror, that I'd noticed I was in my vampire form. My red hair flowing over the white shirt really made it stand out even more.

"I dont remember changing," I said honestly.

All eyes were on Tate.

"She woke up looking like that," He said.

"She needs to feed now," Tara said.

Wanting to test if I had the power of telekinesis, I opened the palm of my hand at the glass of blood on the tray Tate was holding. It quickly shot into my hand, not spilling a single drop. I chugged it, before taking another look in the mirror. My red hair remained, and so did my fangs.

I looked back at everyone with concern in my eyes. Tara and Emrick stood up and took me into the kitchen. Tate tried to follow, but Emrick stopped him.

"What's wrong with me?" I asked as I sat at the table.

"You must need a higher dosage," Tara said.

Just then an intense pain shot through my stomach. I doubled over clenching my stomach. The rich smell of their blood fumed in my nostrils. I looked up at them, with my mouth practically drooling. It was as if I lost control of myself. I grabbed both of their wrist and drank vigorously. When I seen the pain in their eyes, I took it away.

I could feel my body strengthening, but it wasnt enough. Not wanting to drain my parents, I pulled myself away, and licked the blood off of my lips. I needed more, but I couldn't do it here. Slowly, I stood up and made my way over to the toaster sitting on the counter. My eyes were glowing red.

I closed them as tight as I could. When I opened them, I was no longer in the kitchen. I was now in the woods, standing in front of the burnt mansion. What was left of it anyway. I turned around, and sniffed the air until I found what I was looking for.

When I caught its scent, I rushed into the woods. I didn't stop until I was close enough to stalk my prey. There it was. Standing so calmly, eating berries from a bush. I took a step forward, and a branch snapped. It's head popped up, and its eyes met mine. It tried to run, but I was faster. After tackling it to the ground, I tore it's throat out, and drank from the buck with big horns. Even though I had completely drained it, I was still thirsty.

My stomach began to hurt again. I couldn't hold it in anymore. So, I screamed as loud as I could. Then laid there on the ground, my body shaking uncontrollably. All I could do was cry.

Just then two arms picked me up. My eyes opened up to see a man carrying me off. His vein pulsating loudly, as if it were begging me to take a bite.

"Youre going to be okay miss," He said as he looked down at me.

He stopped, when he seen my eyes. I could see the fear in his, but in that moment I didn't care. A smile spread on my face, before I latched onto his throat. He begged and screamed for help. I tried to stop, but I couldn't. Once he finally stopped kicking, I pulled myself away. My thirst was finally quenched, but there was a man laying dead in my arms. I cried as I held onto him. All I could do was keep apologizing.

"Alice," A voice said behind me.

I couldn't bother to look up at them. They tried to pull me away, but I pushed them away. I couldn't understand what was happening to me.

"We have to go," Tara said.

"I can't. I don't want to hurt anyone," I said as I rubbed the cold face of this innocent human.

"You won't," Tara said.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Because you have changed back," Emrick said as he pulled the dead man away from me.

I looked down at my blonde hair, which was covered in blood. His blood. My chest had an ache in it.

"Let's get you home and showered," Tara said as she helped Emrick pick me up.

Emrick held me in his arms, and I wrapped my arms around his neck while nestling my head into his chest.

"The last time I held you like this, was when you were born," He said with a smile, as he looked down at me.

All I could do was fake a smile back. Once we had returned, Emrick let me stand on my own. Tate took me in his arms, and studied me.

"What are you looking for?" I asked confused.

"You're covered in blood I was just making sure it's not your own," He said as he cupped my face in his hands.

"Its not mine," I said as I pushed past him.

"She needs a shower," Tara said as she nodded her head.

Tate nodded back, before leading me to the bathroom. I stood in the middle of the bathroom, as Tate undressed me. He ran the bath water for me. When it was full enough for me to sit in without being cold, I stepped in. The warmth of the water over swept me.

I sat there with my knees up to my chest, as Tate ran a wet cloth against my skin. He was so gentle and sweet with me. I was glad that he was mine. My mate.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. When Tate opened it, Id seen Tara standing on the other side. She had brought me some of the clothes I had stollen from Sophia's closet. When she left I stood up and covered myself with a towel. Tate brushed my hair for me, before helping me dry off and dressing me. It was as if I was here physically, but not mentally.

"Alice," He said as he tilted my head up to meet his.

"Tate," I said back.

He kissed me so passionately. I sank into his arms, but I wasn't in the mood to be all lovey-dovey. I began to cry, and he just held me.

"Everything will be okay. I promise you that," He said as he ran his fingers through my wet hair," I love you so much."

"I love you, too, Tate," I said as I looked up at him.

Suddenly a thought struck me. I had remembered something I had seen in my dream. Well, in my nightmare.
